It’s much closer for us and we can get our chicken feed and our dog food. My kids love looking at all the fishes in their tanks and watching the birds, guinea pigs and snakes. You can’t create a vibe like Redhill Pet Through any corporate entity it just comes naturally through neighborhood people and local folks. We love you Elvis. Sir walks a lot only uses red help pet center.

I like their setup and their willingness to respond. Better than Petco by a lot and not as good as they are capable of being.
Above all a good resourced and safe place to self groom my dog.

During his stays, they administer his insulin twice daily and also give him his oral chemotherapy. Whenever he has had any issues they alert us promptly and have provided the necessary care. We’re extremely grateful for them!

This grooming salon has been nothing short of miraculous, managing to groom my anxious pup with gentle hands and no muzzle needed! All three of my dogs come out looking adorable: my girl sports charming pigtails, my young boy rocks a Mohawk and beard, and my senior dog's fresh trim makes him look like a youthful puppy again. I've been a loyal customer for years and can wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful doggie spa!

4280 Redwood Hwy STE 4, San RafaelDog whisperer and now cat whisperer. Dr. Marinho is a gift. It started with our Bernese Mountain Dog. He was beginning to have frequent neck pain. It was painful to watch him. He is 10.5 years old. So that is awesome for a Berner. His regular vet put him on Gabapentin daily which takes a toll on a dog’s liver/kidneys. I refused to give him daily. Since Sterling has been seeing Dr. Marinho for acupuncture and taking muscle and neck supplements, he’s like a 2 year old. He has not shown any neck/spine discomfort for months. On his walks, people ask if he’s two. Now our Ragdoll cat is 12.5 years old and got very sick. So is it hyperthyroidism, IBS, or lymphoma? So now Dr. Marinho is treating him as well. We now started acupuncture and supplements on him. She is so knowledgeable, patient, and kind. She is a delightful partner in figuring out the best options for my senior guys. I’m grateful for Dr. Marinho. Selfishly with all the kudos, I fear she’ll get even busier. Oh well, she is amazing. Negatives- Ouch!! expensive though they do a superb job at it, and (no fault of theirs) it's 3 months of controlling his movements by keeping him on a leash. The positives - the surgeon is forthright and communicative, and the outcome is shaping up (11 weeks now) to be excellent. If this happens to your dog and it's going to need repair, the sooner you get it done the less arthritis will happen in the joint, which cannot be repaired. You have to love your dog to pay this much, and be able to afford it, but if you do, Golden Gate is the best in the north Bay and cheaper than Petaluma hospital.

He was very willful, energetic and had some very unpredictable aggression issues - as in I could not walk him without him lunging and even, to my horror, nipping people on several occasions. My dog was also determined to rip my shoulder out of it's socket. Now we walk without incident and pulling. There have been other bumps along the way, but John always handles them in a very calm and compassionate manner. My dog, who is not overly affectionate, loves to see John: his tail always thumps upon John's arrival.

We did an intake and trial day with our dog, Matilda with her. Unfortunately, it was not a match (our little girl was way too shy and reserved to be a good fit for Basia's pack). But we so appreciated Basia's proactive and kind communication throughout the process. We got to spend some time with Basia and meet some of her other doggie clients, and I was so impressed by her attention to detail with all of the dogs, her honesty and transparency about anything we asked, and the fact that her space is so neat, clean, and organized. She loves her job so much that she has pictures of the dogs she cares for all over her house, which is really sweet. I wish it had been the right match for our dog, but I appreciated Basia's honesty about why it wasn't. I would feel completely comfortable recommending her to others based on the interactions we had with her.

The program's emphasis on early socialization was a game-changer! Bilbo thrived in the safe, supervised environment, making tons of puppy friends and learning proper dog etiquette. Hillary, Heather, and Ashally are amazinggg. Bilbo's confidence and charisma is all thanks to them. He's mastering skills like potty training, leash walking, and commands (his recall is amazing!). I'm even more confident as a result, as the team gave me a lot of support and tools for success along the way. We loved the program so much, we extended Bilbo's training by two more months. Bilbo is a joy to be around now - polite, obedient, and full of personality. If you want your pup to blossom like Bilbo, look no further!!!

My dog is 7 and has boarded since he was a pup. There was only one other time that I had this experience in Baltimore and was told that other dogs were peeing on him. I hope this wasn't the case here but I don't have another explanation.

718 B St, San RafaelI can’t recommend the Garden Cafe enough! I had a wonderful first experience here today having lunch. The food was delicious & nutritious- I got the Salmon Greek Salad (comes with garlic bread) and the “San Rafael Sunrise” drink, which is a juice including veggies and chia seeds. Lots of seating options indoors and outdoors with good lighting. Free wifi for those looking for a good study spot.
The service was AMAZING and contributed to creating such a friendly, inviting atmosphere. I have to give a special shout-out to Miguel, who was so gracious and apologetic about my juice being made wrong the first time. They were out of beets and I believe Miguel called someone and had more beets brought in while I was eating lunch so that I had a corrected juice with beets to enjoy before I finished eating! To be clear, I told Miguel it was completely fine that they were out of beets but he insisted it wasn’t fair to not get what I ordered and made sure I got my beet juice. I can vouch for how much the Garden Cafe values each customer there! I will be recommending to friends and coming back.

1904 4th St, San RafaelAt Urban Remedy I followed the seasonal thread as I enjoyed an Organic vegan No Egg Nog made from almond milk, cashews, dates, vanilla, nutmeg, Himalayan salt, & Maca Root. The No Egg Nog was costly as many of the items here are costly yet the ingredients are organic, high quality, & artisan. I can't remember the last time I had egg nog as I have been a vegan for more than 18 years yet this tasted authentic & was an enjoyable beverage. There are many other drinks, protein bars, & packaged foods. Probably the most famous vegan in the movement is John Robbins & his book Diet For a New America turned me on to a plant based lifestyle. He has authored many other books & have seen him speak live. I have also corresponded w/ him before on email. John's son recently spoke at the 18th Annual World Veg Festival yesterday in San Francisco put on by the the San Francisco Veg Society. It was great to see him as he is a powerful inspiring speaker. In a recent issue of the Bay Area based Common Ground magazine I read an interesting interview w/ Ocean Robbins & in the interview Ocean said that he follows a plant strong diet yet does consume some wild fish along w/ pasteurized eggs. I have never heard of pasteurized eggs yet Urban Remedy does sell them as Ocean would approve. All in all a great place to stock up on some unique quality healthy artisan foods & snacks.

Vegetarian options: Good amount of vegetarian as breakfast can be subbed avocado for protein easily but not many other vegetarian options. My friend had a vegetarian breakfast burrito and left satisfied.
Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options, also tended to be on the milder amount of sugar used which I prefer
Kid-friendliness: Great atmosphere and very homey vibes. It is an adult professional atmosphere because this is SF but very friendly and comfortable.
