I just joined F45 and LOVE it! I have tried all workouts like Barrys, Soul Cycle, Orange Theory, been a member of Equinox and Crunch and more and this just fits exactly what I need! I thrive in a group atmosphere and the community here is amazing! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and I also love that it's a phenomenal workout at only 45 minutes! I'm a mother of two kids and need to be efficient with my time, but also prioritize myself to stay in shape!! Love all the trainers here.. Ami, Mike, Leslie and Aimee! So happy to be a part of the F45 fam!

My first review was during my initial days and a lot has changed - important to update! First off, Ami (owner + trainer) is one of a kind!! She has an addictive energy that keeps me going regularly. I am in the gym most days at 6 am, and I honestly can't start my day better. The strong community encourages each other and stays positive through the occasional grueling workouts. I usually train with Coach Aimee who is extremely dedicated to her craft and works tirelessly to have the gym clean and ready for us. Coach Mike is great too and encourages good form and camaraderie! I love this place - it's a community above all else.

I’ve recently joined F45 San Mateo and I’m a huge fan! The workouts are fantastic and the coaches are beyond motivating, continuously pushing me throughout to get the best out of every workout. The community and camaraderie the coaches have created there is one that I haven’t found elsewhere. If you find yourself in the beginning stages of your fitness journey, or looking for a challenge from your everyday workout, F45 can offer that all to you.

The community and camaraderie the coaches have created there is one that I haven't found elsewhere. This is a long overdue review. I joined this F45 studio back in July 2022 after a year-long hiatus from another location. I moved from Hawaii to California and wanted to find an F45 gym to join. I've been to several F45 locations in both states, and while all of them provide the same community-like feel and awesome workouts, what Ami (the owner and coach) does at this studio is unlike any other I've experienced. From the moment you step in, you are greeted and, if new, given a brief orientation of the studio, workout, and equipment. Towels are provided which is not a norm at other studios. The rarities of how Ami runs this studio continues. At the stations, each person has their own set of weights to workout with. (From someone who's had to "fight" for weights because there's three people at a station, I find this VERY helpful and much appreciated.) To add, there's thought put into what is provided at the stations. For example, if it's a station that requires push-ups, mats are there for those who may need to be on their knees. Ami constantly wants her members to be pushed and to grow; hence, a variety of weights and updated equipment are provided for those looking for that extra push. Equipment and floors are clean. During the demos, the coaches always provide a modified option as well as point out how to do an exercise properly so as to avoid injury. All coaches constantly float the room and observe members by either providing assistance or pushing them to go further. I could go and on about how amazing Ami and the other coaches are! While there are many F45 studios out there, I truly believe this place is special and unique because of how Ami and the coaches care about their members!

I have been to many gyms and have never felt the sense of community and kindness I feel when I'm at F45. The coaches are always attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. They push you but also support you to do what you feel comfortable with. The exercises are always different and challenging. I really can't say enough about how much I love this gym!

I've been going to F45 for about 5 years now and Ami and her team have been huge contributors to my weight loss journey. Since I started with F45 I've lost around 50-60 pounds and have gained a significant amount of muscle. I'm still there 3 times a week because there's nothing that compares to the workouts and the community that Ami has curated.

While I moved away from the area years ago I wanted to leave a review. When Ami opened F45 I followed her from another very popular gym. Why? Because not only was she the best trainer she was kind and created an environment that was welcoming for everyone no matter size, gender, race, or ethnicity. If you want to be in a welcoming environment this is your place in the San Mateo bay area.

I've been a member of this gym for the past 5 years and couldn't be happier with the experience. I've become so much fitter during this time, gained more lean muscle and the amount of burpees I can do nowadays is mind blowing! The gym has a warm welcoming and nonjudgmental atmosphere. There are people of every size, age and fitness level. Every workout is a killer. I love the encouraging coaches. Special thanks to the owner Coach Ami who makes sure you are appropriately challenging yourself without sacrificing your posture.

I have loved every class I’ve taken at F45 so far. I feel motivated and empowered after each workout and this is the first workout I’m genuinely excited about. I’ve taken classes with both Leslie and Ami, who are thoughtful coaches and push me to be better. I highly recommend F45!

Visiting from another F45 studio in Vancouver...Just wanted to say thanks to Ami for a great workout and the wonderful hospitality at her F45 San Mateo studio.Ami's ecstatic energy was definitely motivating.From registration to entry, and warm-up to workout, everything was handled perfectly.I'm so glad I made the half hour trip to this studio.
