Went in to pay my bill with cash. They wont take my money even though I’ve earned it. Said I need to go to another bank to get cashier check but that will take days for it to clear. Also cash payment will only work if I have an account with the branch.Never had this experience where I couldn’t pay with cash at any other bank. Their excuse was not accepting my cash to deter fraud or counterfeit. This is my tip I saved from the last month. How messed up is this policy?Post a sign if your not accepting cash.

Worst bank ever! I reached out to this bank last Thursday to make an appointment to open a new account. I called back a second time on Thursday and she said "I will have the banker call you back". I never heard from them so on Monday I called again and this time I was able to make an appointment for Wednesday morning 10 AM. We arrived at 9:54am (before they opened). I walked into the bank at 10:01 and they had taken somebody in front of me. WHY DID I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT? I will not bank at this location ever again. And would have completely given up on Citibank if I didn't have a specific need to bank with them. Hillsdale branch experience was awesome!

Worst banking experience ever with Citibank. I'm a senior and have been trying for over a month to have an IRA account closed and the funds deposited to my checking account. I'm told this cannot be done at a branch in SSF, CA and that I need to complete a 10 page form and mail (or fax) to San Antonio, Texas, which I did. After weeks of no action and no notice I call Texas only to be told they think my SIN# is incorrect and nothing further can be done and they hang up. Call back in politely and am told I have to complete another 10 pages of IRS forms. I then go into the San Mateo branch on 3rd Ave in San Mateo, CA to show them my original SIN card with number matching that on original forms sent to Texas. They are clearly messed up and now insisting I sign IRS forms as if there has been a change in my SIN, which there has not. ALL VERY FISHY because their records are incorrect and their position is this is my problem. All very superficial smarmy attitude, arrogant and not even an explanation. Just horrible service contrasting with the boastful signage in the branch as to superior service. Time to file a complaint with the Federal Reserve for Citibank's excessive delays and mishandling of retirement funds. BTW, with our Wells Fargo branch and similar request, it was all handled locally and painless and I was able to walk out in under 30 minutes with a cashiers check, as I don't have a checking account with them.. yet. Citibank is apparently not acting in good faith and the service is a terrible.

I hate S*#%tybank! They are asking for my annual salary in order to access my account that's in a trust. They are also doing this for my mom's account that's in a trust. CB reps says it's to make sure we are not getting laundering money. WTH!! I've been with CB for over 20 years and now they are wondering if I'm laundering money which is why they need to know what my annual salary is? I spent hours upon hours on the phone and went to CB branch several times to give docs to give them as proof of my identity. I'm done with CB. I'm moving to a credit union and will be transferring all my money there soon.

I spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone with customer service and after being transferred to 4 different departments they let me know that the department I needed to speak to was closed. After informing them of how long I had been on the phone all they could say is Oh wow. I am almost at the end of my rope with Citibank.

Big thank you to San Mateo Citibank Mr. Eric Woo for his time. I needed to obtain some paperwork from the branch, went to San Mateo Citibank to meet up with Mr. Woo. He is totally professional and he clearly knows what I need. More importantly, Eric went WAY above and beyond to pull all his connections to help me out. Listen, this is MY 1st time to deal with him. It DOES NOT matter to him, all he cares is I am a Citibank customer. He will do/DID everything to help me out. Totally impressed. Also, the front desk personnel (Odessy Hernandez...) thanks for telling Eric about my issue. Thanks !!!

These workers are polite and friendly and give great customer service. Compared to my other bank where they're cold and not friendly at all this is 5 star service the way it should be.

I went in to try and get clarification on a statement. The person behind the desk was very hard to understand as English was not her first language. She tried to help me, but I still felt I needed more clarification so I went back in. The man that was helping me had no idea what he was looking at when I showed him my statement. My issue was that I opened a dispute on a double charge. I was credited the amount back as a conditional credit, but I ended up cancelling the dispute as I thought I was going to work it out with the company that charged me.I ended up calling the dispute center to reopen the dispute as the company that double charged me was unable to help. When I looked at my statement there was a total of four $190 charges! and one conditional credit for $190. They reversed the conditional credit twice. That means I am stuck paying $570 for something that was only supposed to be $190 onetime charge! I went to a second branch and they said the credit card side of the business is inaccessible to them. Yea, I bet they have no problem accepting payments for a credit card, but when it comes to resolving issues they are useless!I am now waiting for a dispute to be resolved and if I need an update, I have to call an overseas call center that constantly losses signal on top of the caller being hard to understand.Awful bank! I will be cancelling my credit card and just stick with BofA as I have had no issues with them.

This branch is indicative of Citibank as a whole; a) completely a "not my problem" attitude and b) they DON'T LISTEN. I got a promotion to open an account online, and went through EVERY stipulation they asked for, calling in to their customer service number once a week for a month to verify everything was correct. Long story short; I was misinformed by one of their reps so I had to go through the entire process again. Since I wanted to ensure everything was correct, I went into the branch this time and after a 10 minute wait spoke with Andreas Indrodjojo...who couldn't find the offer I was looking for even though I printed it out/had it in my hand. I then asked to speak to a manager, and Eric Woo came out; I told him the situation and why I wanted to open a new account. His immediately response was, "you no can doing that. Onry fo new account onry." I asked him how he knew that without so much as reviewing the offer, and he responded, "because I working here rong time." At this point I pulled out the stipulations that I had printed out, KNOWING that I would need them since this is exactly the attitude I faced every time I've had to deal with Citibank. I showed Eric exactly where I absolutely COULD open a new account with this promotion, to which he then said, "OK, but normary that not able to do. I do for you this time." Infuriating is not the right word here. These people are consistently condescending, uninformed and just unwilling to listen, which is why they end up misinforming their customers. The only reason I'm leaving 2 stars is there were 2 very sympathetic and capable tellers working at that branch. I seriously hope they get promoted as I'm sure they could do a much better job of running that branch than Eric or the other managers there.

Do not use their credit cards, their customer service is appalling. - Applied via web site tor a credit line increase to pay my property taxes. - Was approved next day. - Tried to charge taxes on the newly approved credit limit (limit much higher than transaction) - transaction declined 'insufficient funds'. - Contacted customer support via chat. Was asked if I could break the transaction into smaller amounts. Said no as the payment is for property taxes and the county will not allow multiple payments. Was informed that the transaction was pre-approved for a single payment and I could go ahead and make the transaction although I should wait until the next day. - Waited till the next day and submitted the transaction - transaction declined 'insufficient funds'. - Spoke another agent who said that Citi where having some issues with their systems and the transaction was pre-approved but I should wait till the next day to try again. - Waited till the next day and submitted the transaction - transaction declined 'insufficient funds'. - Called again, went through the same rigmarole with a 'supervisor' this time. She spoke to the 'security dept' and after 25 mins on the phone assured me that the transaction should go through although I should wait 2 hours. - Waited 4 hours and submitted the transaction - transaction declined 'insufficient funds'. - Gave up at that point and used a different card which went through no problem. Citi card cut up 2 mins later.

Talk about a cheap customer unfriendly bank. Had their credit card for more than two decades and never missed a payment till now when somehow the monthly statement never arrived. Owed 50 dollars. Could not get them to waive a 25 dollar late fee... this in a 50 dollar bill. Explained our longtime relationship and also that we have the highest credit rating. Still no. Forget them! They'll do you no favors

I feel very discriminated against right now by this branch. Might call a lawyer.
