Book stores are a tough business to run these days, but they are institutions that I hope will stand the test of time, especially the ones like UPB which are so unique. Its closure marks yet another event that makes the university town less interesting. :(”

“You can't miss the large, blue building along Shattuck! We came by to explore the different book options and were entertained by the cute kids' section as well as the coloring book/drawing section. They definitely do have some books from each genre, but they seem to have a lot more options in the fiction section. They have this cool prison project thing going on where if you buy a book from the selected table, they'll send it to a prison inmate.”

“I love this shop! I brought in about 20 CD's to sell and they bought them all for a good price - when does this ever happen?? The staff is very friendly and helpful. While here, I picked up Jennifer Egan's A Visit From the Goon Squad in excellent condition for $5 bucks. They also have a great selection of DVD's. Another thing of note is that the store is very well organized and tidy, making it easy to find what you're looking for.”

Each section had and impressive variety of options. Found some intriguing books that I can't wait to crack open, they even have a UFO section! Value is unbeatable. “Walked into this store during the weekend, found myself wanting a specific book they didn't have. The friendly person (David I think) running the shop seamlessly offered & ordered the book for me. Surely one could have ordered the same book online but what one would have missed is - as we placed the order we ended up talking about the genre, leading to David suggesting books that were rather hard to discover (one of them was in limited supply). Somehow, ordering a book online will never live up to the entirety of walking into a unique local bookstore. Great experience at the Book Tree, thank you.”
