“Large, tidy store with attractive book and gift displays. Good for working near the cafe area, but some of the chair seats are torn up. There isn't a ton of table space or outlet availability. It does fill up quickly, so best to get there early or be patient and walk around. If you're at one of the bigger tables by yourself, please be open to others sitting with you. :) Free wifi.”

“Local amazing children's bookstore that used to exist everywhere and now are rare. Simply amazing establishment where you can find books and toys that serve real purposes.”

“Excellent place for collectible cars, hot wheels, etc. floor to ceiling, blew my kid away when he entered the doors. Super owner, very helpful and kind. I took my son on his actual birthday, the shopping experience was a present in itself!!”

“Was in Japantown San Jose recently and checked out Zonkey at the corner of Jackson St and 4th. The store can be easy to miss but look for a Zonkey A-Frame on the sidewalk in front of the entrance. It's a small shop but packed with a lot of great items. There's a whole shelf filled with popular blind boxes and some nostalgic Garbage Pail Kids toys. They also sell a lot of vinyl stickers, keychains, and prints, some anime too. There was this really cool 3D Attack of Titan 12x18 print that we picked up. Their prices were on par with other comic book stores that sell these items. For the amount of space available, they really did a good job organizing and displaying everything. The anime books were on the bottom shelves with other goods on top. There are quite a few Hello Kitty items as well. Some of their custom printed T-shirts were really cool but unfortunately no youth sizes available. Service was good. The employee was helpful when we were asking about different T-shirts and blind boxes.”

“I used to love going to Barnes and Nobles. I used to frequent the one in Emeryville, Eastridge Mall, and the one off of Stevens Creek. I have not been in years. I started going to independent bookstores instead. I tried very hard to stop using Amazon to purchase my books and I've succeeded. I have not ordered a book from that conglomerate entity. I have nothing against Amazon. I was making a conscious effort to keep the local bookstores alive, that's all. The Tram back then used to wake up at 3:15 to workout. Even during the pandemic. After my promotion last year, I stopped being the person I am. I could not wake up early, I lost my love for working out, and I started binge eating. I was incredible at what I do for a living, working 50+ hours a week. There's no PTO and there's no weekends. I can get called on or texted on at any given hour. It was horrendous. I went into something like a depression phase last year. I was not able to sleep yet I did not want sleeping pills. I enjoyed reading but could not find the time to read. W/ my work, I was spending just barely adequate time w/ Gavin and had no time for myself. I was also in school, too. I am only one class away from earning my AA. My next venture is attending SJSU. The same school my daughter is currently attending her year. Anyway. This year started different. I fell and hurt my tailbone and I have close colleagues (friends now) from our office in Ann Arbor, MI that was talking about doing the Hard 75. So, thanks to those 2 guys, I got back into reading. One of my aunts help setup an alter at my place. I wanted to give journaling another shot. All of those happened during the same time. Instead of thinking I don't have time, I forced myself to create time. Now I no longer snooze, I am back to waking up at 3:25AM during the workweek, got back to reading, am journaling consistently every day, I pray twice a day, and I've managed to reduce my phone usage by 50%. There's something about reading that inspires me. I finished Atomic Habits in January, and just finished Atlas of the Heart. I needed a new book for my 75 Soft Challenge, so I came by and saw the book from Mark Manson. I was honestly looking for Adam Grant but was not able to locate any of his books. I started it yesterday and will be done w/ it in a week. The shelves were organized, staff available if you need any help, the lines moved rather quickly to pay, and I was captivated how the storefront displayed their books. If I did not dart to the line, I would have purchased more than one book. I'm also currently reading Yellowface and will start on A Little Life after. If I could, I would not step out in public for days/weeks/months. I just want to be home and in bed w/ my book and my cats. I would have food in my fridge or use services like DoorDash just so I would not have to step outside. Books no matter the genre is like a lost art to me. No Kindle or audiobooks can replace the feel of an actual book. Parking was easy, plentiful. There are a lot of vacant tables during that time. Just have your noise cancelling headphones in, white noise ready, and get lost in the book. It's like a fantasy where time literally stops.”

“What's not to love about Daiso? Most everything is $1.50 and for that price there are some GREAT bargains to be found. I got really cute short pink oven mitts from here that I have gotten a lot of compliments for. Some cool things you'll find here for $1.50.”

“We went last night on 4/19/2024 around 8:30pm and there was only 1 worker and he was such a sweet heart even though they were short staffed. I didn't get his name but he had a carry on with Marshall and Skye from Paw Patrol. He was so kind, and social and made us feel comfortable. I hope this gets to him his badge number I think is 0064690. He needs a raise or some kind of compensation for him working alone and giving the best customer service. We went in for my sons birthday and he was so helpful. Thank you young man.”

“Absolutely LOVE this place. I was at Goodwill next door and found this gem by accident. As an 80s kid who refuses to let go, this place lit a fire in my retro soul. Lots of vintage toy stores seem to be geared more around boys toys but they had lots of vintage Barbies, My Little Pony, Raggedy Anne & Andy, plus lots of unisex toys! There are rows of well-organized items, some very unique things! As a huge MJ fan, I appreciated that they had some of his memorabilia. They had so many Garbage Pail Kids cards, too! I always have a hard time finding them but not here! I'm not a Stars Wars fan but I can say they had a huge selection. So many things here unlocked memories for me and had me feeling like a kid again. I had to go meet my family so my time was limited but I definitely plan to go back again soon! Definitely give this place a visit!”

“I came here recently to buy an ao dai for my daughter for Tet. The lady who helped me and my husband was really nice and showed us the sets they had for her age range. I decided to get a red and gold one, and it came with the pants. The store although small has a lot of different merchandise. Can feel a little cramped in there. A good spot for trinkets and a Lotto ticket”

“This is a great addition to the stores at Valley Fair Mall. I have a 9 year old and I myself a 9 year old trapped in a 40yo body. Stores like this really help break things up among all the boring clothes, jewelry and shoes. It helps fill the void of stores like KB Toy stores from the 80s/90s.I would say most of their toys lean more towards Japanese Anime such as Naruto, Dragonball, Transformers etc.Pricing is fair. You can probably get it online for $, but you'd have to wait and can not guarantee authenticity. Because of online competition, they have all sales as final. The service and people working here were very friendly and you can tell were happy to work in the store and help customers.”

“I had a terrible experience at another location a few years ago but this time around I had a great experience. I took my 3 year old in to get her ears pierced, and believe me this child can be quite difficult at times. Rachel was incredibly nice. After the first piercing my daughter was being very difficult and although it took a little time to get to other ear Rachel was patient. When I go back to get my 2 year old daughter's ears pierced I will request Rachel again. She was awesome. Thank you so much!!!”

“incredible customer service by Daniel. he made sure we were taken care of and we had exactly what we needed for my boyfriend's specific game console. he was clearly knowledgeable about the product he was selling, and he was extremely personable and people-oriented. during our visit, he greeted another customer by his name, so he obviously is friends with the regulars at this location. it was also suuuper busy and he was the only one working (i think the other guy was on lunch), but Dan kept his composure and patience, effectively helping everyone in-store, and even being awesome on the phone. 10/10 customer service + work ethic, give this guy a raise.”

“If I did work and have a fair amount of money, I would continue shopping here. I'm very close by to come browse Pokémon cards. Instead of taking care and dating a female that I want, I use my money to buy their cards. I do not need to get a good card each time I go there, I happen like to collect a lot of bulk ones for my collection. A lot of customers especially from the offerup app say it's expensive here but I can hang on to the price and afford them. It is way better to get the cards and pck I need than having it shipped from websites like Pokémon center. Mostly cards from offerup could be stolen Pokémon cards. A few white American males are nice to communicate with. They even recognize my name each time I come in. :) . I'm pretty shock the employees do have value for me. I use to not bond with white Americans well enough but it takes effort to socialize within the white American community. I'm Vietnamese American and barely speak English at home.”

“This location is always my go to spot for newly released video games and entertainment related merchandise. The staff members here know what they are doing, but if you get them started on games they are passionate about, you could be busy for quite some time with their conversations. I love their regular sales that they have, but their half off clearance sales are the way to go. Occasionally, items will ring up for less than advertised, which can save you a lot more money.”

“Our water in Santa Clara contains substantial ground water which frequently doesn't taste that great so we've been buying five gallon bottles of drinking water for nearly thirty years. I discovered Jenny's recently and couldn't be happier, you buy a twenty five dollar card and it costs 25 cents per gallon, better than most dispensary machines. I wish I knew about the store when we hosted birthday parties for our children it's filled with all sorts of five and dime items and lots of things young children might want. Certainly worth taking a quick look, wish I had done it sooner.”
