Biscuits - Pet Boutique
223 Jackson St, San JoseThis is the best place for gourmet cat treats! We got a ton of freeze dried treats for my cats and they loved it (chicken giblets, mussels and rabbit). It was so refreshing to see a pet store with so much to offer for cats since places are mostly catered for dogs. It also happened to be my cats birthday when we stumbled upon the boutique and got to buy him a custom birthday hat!! Definitely will be coming back

San Jose Bengal Cats
171 Branham Ln, San JoseI was nervous about becoming a kitten parent but Rene put me at ease by patiently answering my many questions and letting us meet the kittens! We are SO happy with our new addition - she is not only striking and beautiful but also the sweetest, smartest little thing. What I really appreciated with Rene is that it’s clear he really cares about his cats - he even followed up after we took our kitten home to check in on her progress and make sure she was settling in okay. Overall had a very positive experience!

Camden Pet Hospital: Hoge Jeremy DVM
4960 Camden Ave, San JoseThank You Camden Pet Hospital for saving my Fuzzy Son Toby Cat. I can't express how much I appreciate Dr J. deciding to say that Toby is too young and before his major health issues too healthy for him to be put down. Tuesday, Jan 30 was the start of Toby's recovery and I owe my gratitude and thanks to Dr J and the staff at Camden Pet Hospital. When I woke up on that Tuesday I saw that Toby was even more sick than the prior days and I called Camden Pet Hospital to make an appointment for them to see him. I thought this was to end his life, that I would have to have him euthanized. I didn't think that CHP could save Toby for an amount of money that I could afford. To my wonderful surprise when I met Dr. J and told her the situation, fairly quickly she said that Toby is too young and healthy to be put down. She came up with a treatment plan that I could afford, around $650 that would basically follow what the other vet companies said they would do, treat Toby for 3 days, for a much higher cost, over $3000. The only difference was that I would take Toby home each day at 5 PM and then return him the next day for additional treatment to cure his urinary blockage. As with the prior 2 days, they continued with his treatments until I came at 5 PM Thursday to pick Toby up at the end of his care at CPH, and bring him home. Dr J. said that his urinary blockage had been cleared and the problem with his liver was fixed. All we could do now was to keep an eye on him. Try to get him to continue to eat and drink water. They gave me some special cat food, both dry and wet food for him to eat. This food was a urinary care type of cat food, Hills Urinary Care cat food. All during the time of his illness, I was praying to GOD to help save my Fuzzy Son Toby. I was so afraid I was going to lose him and it was very difficult to hold it together. I was a mess. That night Toby slept with me as he always does and I had the strong belief that he was going to eventually fully recover. From the time I brought Toby home from CHP, he slowly and steadily regained his health. Each day, his recovery progressed. He started eating his cat food and drinking water. It was not a lot at first, but each day he ate and drank more. Also, he started using his cat box. In fact, I set up a separate cat box, food and water dishes in my room as Dr J suggested. More major positive changes happened. He started walking around the house again. He wasn't just staying in my room. At the end of the first week back home, he wanted to go outside again. The things that really showed me that he was getting better is he started acting like my Fuzzy Son again. He was purring often again, playing with his sister Sophie cat, and looking at me like the old Toby Cat, full of LOVE and LIFE! It's now been about 1 1/2 months since the start of this journey and I'm so HAPPY to say that Toby has FULLY RECOVERED! Of course, none of this would have happened if not for Dr J at CPH. Her decision to help Toby, her treatment plan and the care that she and the CHP staff gave Toby is the major reason why he recovered and is healthy again. THANK YOU DR. J AND EVERYONE AT CAMDEN PET HOSPITAL FOR SAVING TOBY'S LIFE.

Best Friends Animal Dentistry at SVVS
7160 Santa Teresa Blvd, San JoseMy 8 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel just had 9 teeth removed by Dr. Zacher. Dr. Zacher is excellent and her team is top-notch! My husband and I were both very impressed by the care for our sweet dog. I was very nervous about my dog having so many teeth removed and being put under general anesthesia , but the staff kept me updated every step of the way while the procedure was being performed which helped to ease my anxiety. All went smoothly and, when we picked him up, we were given thorough instructions for home care and what to expect. The next day they checked in to see how our dog was doing which I thought was very nice. Our general vet recommended Dr. Zacher for this more complex dental procedure and told us our dog would be in good hands at Best Friends Animal Dentistry and that was so true!

1775 E Capitol Expy, San JoseI've been bringing my dogs to this veterinary clinic since 2021, and every visit is met with excitement from my pets the moment we pull into the parking lot. The entire staff, from the doctors and assistants to the front desk team, is exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They consistently prioritize our pets' well-being, making us feel reassured and cared for. One standout feature I appreciate is their flexibility with drop-off appointments, which aligns perfectly with our work schedule. While some reviews mention their wellness plan can be perceived as pushy, I personally found it to be a good fit for us. The unlimited office visits and access to 24/7 pet chat have tremendously lowered our stress levels as first-time pet parents.

6110 Camino Verde Dr Suite #6, San JoseMy 14 yr old dog needed teeth extractions and teeth cleaning. Considering his age, having Cushings disease, I was very hesitant to get all that done. The vet made me feel comfortable and confident and spent 45 minutes to explain the process and ensure me that they do pre tests to make sure he will be okay to go through the surgery. I was so happy I did it. Extracting 7 teeth, biopsies and teeth cleaning, it went successful. The vet also kept me updated throughout the procedure. They specialize in vet dentistry and I would definitely be back if needed to. Thanks for taking care of my dog!

Animal Medical Center | San Jose
1820 Hillsdale Ave, San JoseThis animal hospital is the way underrated. Five Stars are truly not enough. Look no further this team of highly experienced individuals are the best of the best.. All around great people I was in an out faster then you could imagine with absolute compterability. It has been a night mare searching for a dependable emergency vet. Called over a dozen different location in the bay area and I couldn't believe how under trained and unproffesional most locations really are. It's pretty bad when you can tell there only there for a check over the phone and being hung up on due to a stupid question. Or placed on hold with our ever getting through or a recording that repeats with no options. If you have ever searched for a vet you know exactly what I mean. Thank God I was refferd to Dr. Grewal and his well trained crew. I couldn't believe how fast the visit went. I was in and out in less than a hour with all questions answered a treatment plan and medications, and my dog was extremly close to death very larthargic from a serve case of parvo. She was too weak to even walk and with in hours after my visit she was by the door wanting to be walked. The whole team is highly educated professionals who work together as a elite team. Dr. Grewals leadership and delegation skills really reflect though his hard working caring polite employees I left there felling like I was just welcomed into the family the true animal lovers these guys thank you Carie and the rest of the crew all you guys are equally amazing. Allie girl is going great and my life is back on track. Thank you

Pet Care Animal Hospital
700 S Winchester Blvd #10, San JoseMy parents' papillon, Chase, wouldn't stop shaking his head. Suspecting he might have an ear infection, my mom took him to two different vets before taking him to Petcare Animal Hospital. Both of the previous vets said that Chase didn't let them do a proper checkup and recommended putting him under sedation so they could properly diagnose what was going on. Chase is twelve inches tall, and these first two vets couldn't get him to hold still long enough for them to check his ears?! Fortunately, my mom was lucky enough to get a same-day appointment with Dr. Kang. As soon as my mom explained what was going on with Chase, Dr. Kang asked if there were foxtail plants at my parents' house. Not even five minutes later, Dr. Kang had removed five foxtails from Chase's ear. For under $100! Without having to sedate him! We can't recommend Petcare Animal Hospital enough! Thank you, Dr. Kang, for truly caring about our sweet boy and not trying to upsell us.

Pet Sitting & Training
Orion Dog Training
1770 Hester Ave, San JoseStarted attending Orion Dog Training puppy socials with my very small breed puppy. I have nothing but positive things to say. These socials are structured and tailored to your puppy's specific needs in mind. I have attended other socials that are more of a free for all where shy puppies and outgoing puppies romp together or are not being watched over. Orion Dog Training is not like this at all. The owner and trainer, Dieuwke, keeps a watchful eye and knows when separate someone from the pack or when to split up shy puppies into their own separate group. On one of the socials it was just me and my puppy, Dieuwke offered to give me my money back or just work with my dog alone. I opted to stay and we basically worked on my puppy's confidence and walk through a maze of obstacles. Like our own private session. I will continue to attend these socials and also am considering taking a basic puppy school course to further nurture my puppy's confidence.

Lucky Buddies Pet Sitting
404 N 13th St Unit b, San JoseWe love taking our Miley to Lucky Buddies Pet Sitting! Miley is a very shy dog and takes a little bit to open up. Initially, we were concerned about her adjustment, but after her first daycare visit, she loved it! It was such a relief to see our timid girl so eager and happy to go back.
We feel completely comfortable knowing our pup is in the capable hands of the staff at Lucky Buddies. The atmosphere is so welcoming that it feels like we are dropping her off at a friend's or family member's house. We have complete trust in their care for our baby girl. The added convenience of their app, which provides regular updates, is a fantastic touch that keeps us informed and reassured while Miley is in their care.
Communication at Lucky Buddies is top-notch. They are always prompt in responding to any inquiries and are more than willing to address any concerns we might have. We also utilize their boarding services in addition to daycare, and each time we leave Miley with them, we do so without any worry or anxiety. The confidence we have in Lucky Buddies Pet Sitting is immense, and they truly make your dog feel like part of their family.
A special shoutout to Chelsea, whom our Miley absolutely adores! Chelsea has been so helpful in Miley's smooth transition and has formed a beautiful bond with her. Miley gets incredibly excited whenever she sees Chelsea, which speaks volumes about the care and affection she receives.
In summary, we highly recommend Lucky Buddies Pet Sitting for both daycare and boarding. Their exceptional service, loving staff, and reliable communication make them stand out. They treat Miley like one of their own, and we couldn't be happier with our experience.

California K9 Solutions (Cali K9 ) Dog Training
950 S 1st St, San JoseDisclaimer before I begin my review: No matter how good the trainers and training sessions are, there is no magic substitute for putting in the work. You will get out what you put in, no short cuts. Cali K9 can give you and your dog all the tools for success but it's still up to you to do the work and make it happen. Any trainer that says differently isn't telling the truth.
I signed my puppy up for Cali K9 private & semi-private training sessions as soon as he got his last parvo shots. As a large and powerful breed I knew socialization and training were critical to start as soon as possible. After we completed those we continued training with weekly group classes starting in beginner's class before moving on to intermediate and finally advanced group class (mainly off leash). Cali K9 gave me the system and tools I needed to help my dog reach his full potential in obedience and discipline. He is often praised by family, friends, and strangers in public for being well behaved and he's complimented as being such a good dog. While he's a great dog (the best, in my humble opinion!) what they don't understand is the countless hours of training and discipline that it took to get him there. The training staff that I've worked with is super knowledgeable and patient. The training and tips are consistent from trainer to trainer (I've worked with Jas, Zay, Juan, and Nick). Everyone is great at being encouraging but also identifying areas to work on, troubleshooting and answering questions, and modeling techniques when needed. San Jose isn't a short commute for me but it's been well worth it for the tools and relationship it's allowed me to have with my dog. The experience has been priceless and I would recommend Cali K9 to anyone looking for dog training with no hesitation.

Out of desperation I turned to google and miraculously found Alex’s company. Her prices are reasonable, she is communicative, understanding, flexible and full of knowledge for pet care! She loved on our pets like her own, sent videos and pictures with each visit, and kept in touch multiple times a day. For us, this was a life saver and we were able to not only enjoy our trip away but RELAX knowing our babies were in good, safe and capable hands. Buddy's Way K9
2062 Delbarr Ct, San JoseWe adopted 3-year-old Duy in November 2022. He was wary of and reactive toward strangers. He was also known to nip when touched in a spot he wasn't fond of. The rescue said he was best suited to a nurturing adult-only home to patiently address and work through these issues. We've adopted rescues since 2003 and Duy was the first one who challenged us. He bit us several times in the first couple of months and we weren't sure if we were in over our heads. Our other dog, Benny, was also a bit skeptical of the new addition to our family.Sybl was recommended to us by our friend who works with rescues regularly. The initial phone call and in-person assessment provided much more information than I expected and I was pleasantly surprised. We immediately hit it off with Sybl and signed up for the "Good Dog, Let's Go!" training plan. Over the course of 8 lessons, we learned about command training, proper use of tools/equipment (basket muzzle, slip collar, pinch collar, and leashes), and most importantly how to be his coach to guide him in his lessons. We've had dogs for most of our lives and it was eye-opening to learn how to hone in on our dogs' behaviors to better understand them and be better dog guardians. We appreciate Sybl's wealth of knowledge and accessibility when we had questions between sessions. Duy is much happier and more trusting, making so much progress since working with her. The tools, exercises, and resources she has provided will be beneficial for every dog we adopt going forward. We are so thankful for her!

Fox Tale Fermentation Project
30 E Santa Clara St #120, San JoseMe and my partner tried this place since we were in town for a run . We walked over to this place from hotel. There was a lively band playing in front of the restaurant which was cool. Fox restaurant host bands. The restaurant inside served delicious big salad that has their fermented delicious ingredients like kimchi. They also has several non alcoholic kombucha drinks on tap which was delicious. I would highly recommend it.

Urban Plates
3055 Olin Ave #1020, San JoseI love this place! Good solid food for a great price. Main courses and desserts haven't disappointed me. I have tried their turkey plate for thanksgiving twice. They have the most flavorful and moist turkey I have ever had. I don't know how they do it. I usually don't care for turkey but this turkey doesn't even need gravy. I have had their steak chimichurri and sides and it was tense and delicious too. Love this place.

DTSJ Brewing Co
370 S 22nd St A, San JoseHappy to see, porter, IPA, sour ales along with some good Summer German beers. Would love to see a heavy stout in the lineup. Rotating food trucks offer good food. Fun and friendly place. Definitely a favorite!

A.M. Craft
481 E San Carlos St, San JoseOne of the best coffee shops in the area with an exquisite taste in beans rotating from around the world (think DAK and B&W!) If you'd like a proper cortado from a Slayer, look no further. When they get busy service can take a little bit longer, but it's the hallmark of a quality mom and pop shop-- don't pit that against them. I think the ambiance could use some work to make it more warm and comfortable, a dash of character with lights, art or paint. They're getting settled!

Mariscos Costa Alegre
855 N 13th St, San JoseI heard lots of good things about the seafood here so my friend and I decided to stop by because we were craving seafood. You get a complimentary tostada, a soup, and crackers. Food: 10/10 I have never seen a restaurant with SO many ceviche options before! We were torn between which one to order but we opted for the ceviche Camaron. We also got the empanadas de Camaron and tacos Marlin. Our favorite was the empanadas de Camaron! We almost burnt our hands and mouth because the cheese was melting and it was hot but it was worth it because it tasted AMAZING! The Marlin tacos were a bit salty for our liking. The ceviche was very flavorful and fresh tasting and it paired well with the tostada. There were lots of unique ceviche options here! Service: 10/10 The workers are very friendly and encouraged us to get the weekday special on a Miche Monday, but we will come back next time for it! Ambiance: 10/10 The restaurant is nice and decorated with outdoor seating and indoor seating. There's street parking near the restaurant. I want to come back to try the Mexican sushi or the molcajete next time!:D I HIGHLY recommend this spot for a fulfilling meal and they have weekday specials too!

Cheff Che Cafe & Bar
975 The Alameda #80, San JoseSolid Mexican American-food-forward cafe - the brunch was very good. Our party ordered a wide variety of items from the Mexican and Western menus; everyone in the party walked away stuffed and happy. Refills on drinks were plentiful, service was warm and friendly. Be prepared to bring half of your food home, though - the portion sizes were enormous!

Clandestine Brewing
980 S 1st St ste b, San JoseWe had a great experience here. It's not really a bar but a tasting room. Probably should go on the weekend as they expect visitors then rather than mid week. It was so nice they accommodated and had beer tasting and a tour of the brewery process. Excellent beers on tap to taste. Probably best to call ahead. $12 per person and well worth it.

Tacos Molina Food Truck
1170 Blossom Hill Rd, San JoseCustomer Service was the best! They are able to speak English for the couple of times I’ve went. They are all nice with friendly/warm attitude. Their al pastor is the best I’ve ever eaten, there is a hint of sweetness and there is also a bit of a crunch. We asked for extra grilled onions and it was pretty good!
Parking: Never went during their busiest time, but at 9:30pm on a Friday, there was a line, and there was still parking. Parking lot is not well lit at night, only when you park near the food prep area.

Silicon Valley Pet Project
1750 Meridian Ave #6145, San JoseI love Silicon Valley Pet Project! They have been nothing but amazing the years I’ve worked with them! I foster dogs that they pull from the shelters. They support every aspect of my foster by paying for food, bedding, toys, treats, training vet bills, and giving moral support. You can tell they really care about the dogs and their foster parents!

Mini Cat Town
2200 Eastridge Loop STE 1076, San JoseI mean, you'd have to mess up pretty hard to make visiting kittens a bad experience, haha.
Mini Cat Town is great, though, because it gives adoptable cats and kittens a lot of socialization, and gives folks a chance to hangout and play with them. There's a lot of space for people and felines to move around, lots of toys and furniture, and places for the cats to hunker down if they need some privacy. Most people are very respectful of the animals, as far as I've seen, so that's also been awesome. Visiting helps fund the group's rescue efforts, as well, so it's really a win-win all around!
The downside is that it's easy to see when some (usually a very small number) of the animals are getting overwhelmed, overstimulated, and would rather not have so much action around them, both human and cat; that's probably my one serious criticism. Going along with that, I also think there should be more oversight when very young and excitable children are present; I duhno if that means more volunteers to help guide the interactions, or more thorough instructions given to parents. It does give kittens looking for new homes a crash course in tolerating small humans, though, lol, and that does still have some value.
