Safeway is a grocery store located at 145 Jackson St in San Francisco. It is described as a convenient, friendly, and fantastic store right in downtown. Many note it is a smaller location but reliable and affordable for eating and shopping in the area. The store is always clean and well-organized. It offers a wide selection of groceries, including a produce department full of fresh fruits and veggies galore, with mentions of ripe bananas and sweet peaches. The butchers block has an assortment of meat and seafood. The bakery never disappoints, with items like Giant sesame seed buns and fruit danish. There is a wonderful selection of wines at great prices and a deli. Specific food highlights include quick, healthy meals, a BBQ Chicken Recipe Pizza called the best, and $5 salads. Services include Order Ahead pick up, Grocery Delivery, and DriveUp & Go™ for convenience. A free club card saves money. Some note the hot food section is OK and remember a bigger selection before Covid. Checkout lines weren't bad, but a recent discontinuation of self checkouts can cause a wait. The floral department offers exclusive debi lilly design™ products. A point of contention is that the restroom is unavailable, though public ones are nearby in the area. Some reviewers mention an uncomfortable atmosphere due to stealing.
Eh... it's a grocery store.... not much to say. Cleanliness is average, prices at Safeway have gone up.... theres many items at Safeway that are much cheaper other places like whole foods and trader joes.... and the quality of food at Safeway is lower quality than those other compared grocery outlets

They had what I needed, but all the workers looked like they hated their life’s.

Too many people stealing. Kind of uncomfortable atmosphere. Recently discontinued self checkouts so have to wait like 10 minutes to pay.
