I usually don't make reviews but I must make one for your La Jolla office for Leonor Vargas. She's a very professional, polite and smart bank teller at the La Jolla Office. Always smiling and professionally dressed. I also seen her with other clients where they were angry and she handled it with a smile and grace. If you ever go into the La Jolla office try to meet her.

I have been a Bank of America customer for more than 25 years. This is the worst location and experience I've had, being in many branches around the U.S. We had an appointment for a notarization made through the app specifically for that purpose. We drove an extra 30 minutes to get it done at this time and location. We were told that the notary "called in sick," which is so convenient the day before a national holiday. If the notary is sick, why are there appointments available? They don't do anything to solve the problem. They could try to find us an appointment at another location. They "claimed" that they couldn't look up any information and that it was too bad we could come back another day. But when, they don't know because they have no way to help us. The three people we dealt with there were absolutely unhelpful and frankly rude. What a treatment for a platinum honors member. It's a disgraceful branch. Avoid at all costs if you want to keep your sanity.

It is a major inconvenience to myself and I’m sure many of your customers that the outside ATMs have been reduced to one. Since the bank doesn’t open until 10am and is closed at weekends I often find myself waiting behind people with complex transactions. Why was the other machine moved inside?

Went In there last week to get help with online banking. Leonor could not help me in 40 min. She claims she authenticated me for the process but when I return the following week, customer service on phone wanted to do it again and she refused. Been a customer for over 30 years. Don’t understand what’s going on with this branch. Stay away!

I was attempting to send some funds to the Texas branch of BoA. The person I was ending it insisted that I will present either cashiers check, PO money order, or cash at the bank and funds are going to be transferred to his account immediately. To my surprise and annoyance Ms. Leonor Mendoza Vargas refused to do it, Then the Manager Mr. Paul Petrea stepped in and asked what was it for and after hearing the story and examining the request I received from the person in Texas, concluded that this is a fraud and BoA is not going to do what I asked them to do. Shortly later it came out that indeed it was a fraud. Thank you Ms. Vargas and Mr. Petrea for being so vigilant. I am scratching my head how they found out. My only guess is that it takes years of experience.

Avoid the employee Leonor. You'll get very poor service and she'll lie to you. Can't trust her. Very bad representation of Bank of America. It's unfair to the bank manager, Paul, who is a problem solver and excellent at customer service. One bad apple, Leonor, ruins this branch's reputation.

Good day, could you suggest a protocol to speak to an associate by phone? I have tried 8 times calling and no one answers. Please advise as soon as possible. Important information needs to be discussed over the phone. An online banking representative has indicated this is an issue to discuss directly with my bank branch. Please Advise. Thanks

Hoping to re-locate banks and our two experiences here have been dreadful - and all come down to TERRIBLE management.Looking to open an account and transfer a sizable deposit, the Manager gave erroneous info over the phone (regarding a Notary Public); then wandered around the floor while we waited over 30 minutes at a desk, watching him chit-chat while we were repeatedly assured "He'll be right here."Eventually had to have to corner him (yes corner him), to be told "I'll check", wait another ten minutes and then an underling reports "He's on a conference call so how can i help you?"She couldn't.Time for B of A to spin the management wheel on this branch!

Over the years, my wife and I have moved all our bank accounts from other credit unions and banks into Bank of America, specifically the La Jolla/Girard branch. First, it's great to have all of our finances -- including our Merrill investment accounts -- under one roof. One-stop shopping at its best. PLUS, Bank of America has the best online and mobile app technology of any bank we've used -- truly cutting edge and way ahead of the pack. Second, we get consistently EXCELLENT service from branch manager Karina El Halabi and Merrill rep Bobby Ho. Just today we stopped by the branch to set up a wire transfer. Bobby saw us sitting in the lobby and he made sure Karina knew we were waiting. Karina took care of us right away. It's like having our own personal bankers. LOVE the service. Third, the La Jolla/Girard branch is super convenient to us -- just a quick 5-minute drive from our house and always lots of parking on Girard or one of the cross streets. We feel very fortunate to be banking at Bank of America and to have Karina and Bobby by our sides, taking good care of our finances. THANK YOU!
