“Had problem with drained battery on a 2016 Honda CRV. Bought the battery new at Poway Honda about a year ago. Took the vehicle to Poway Honda to have it replaced under warranty since it is a100-month battery. First time, a service dept person came out with a portable tester and said nothing wrong with the battery and to bring the car back for further tests.
Brought the car back for same problem a few days later, and a service advisor said to leave the car for tests. I asked what test will be done since they already did some few days ago? He said a technician will use other equipments. I asked for the cost of same result comes out? $98 he said.
Contacted Master Auto in Poway for opinion and possible a second test. Ray said bring the car over. He went thru the battery tests and said it seems to be ok.
The battery has same problem again. Talk to Poway Honda service dept on the phone, and that person tried to give a run around of the warranty issue, and when pressed he said he has to talk to someone in the shop about the labor warranty. He said to bring the car for a service writeup, and again $98 if they come up with nothing. Did some search on Google and found that Honda was sued in a class action for drained battery problems.
Call Master Automotive again, and Ray said to bring it over for more tests. He checked the condition of the battery, cranking capacity, alternator charging current to make sure of function in charging. The test print out stated '360/500 cranking amp, voltage 12.29 volts. Your battery performance has started to declined and may fail to start your vehicle. Consider replacing your battery before it is exposed to temperature extreme'.
A 100-month battery declined after 1 year? And Poway Honda does not care.
Ray also gave me phone number of an auto electric shop for possible further test. All that as goodwill for future business.

“Vehicles serviced: 2012 Honda Odyssey & 2004 Lexus RX330I typically do my own maintenance, such as brake pad replacement and oils changes (the easier things). However, when I run into things that I’ve never dealt with, or can’t fix in my own, I take it here.Eli and his team are the among the best mechanics I’ve dealt with. Honest and upfront about what needs immediate attention versus what can be put off for a bit. For example, one issue with my Honda caused an oil leak into the engine. It would have cost me thousands to fix (and I was willing to pay it), but Eli mentioned that it was a common issue with Hondas, and that Honda provided an extended warranty for it. In comparison, the Honda service rep tried to blame me for the issue, and I had to verify with corporate that it was a covered issue.I have recommended Poway Import Auto Experts to friends and family, and wouldn’t hesitate to return for future service work.”
“I had a pleasant surprise when I brought my car in for brakes. They had done my front brakes last year and I had a little rubbing sound recently so I figured I’d need new brakes or pads, at a minimum. I had my son-in-law pick me up, and I waited at his house for what I assumed would be bad news. Josh called to let me know that they could find nothing wrong with either the front or rear brakes, at least nothing that required immediate repair. When I went in to pick my car up, they reassured me it was safe to drive and I could check back in about six months. The only charge was the $70 inspection fee which I was told about upfront. This is the second time I’ve taken my car there and I’ve always had a good experience. Thanks, Fredy and Josh!”

My oil sensor went bad when I was getting my oil changed. He was right on it and got a new part and fixed within an hour! I also have a scion TC that ended up having problem after problem. Had my appointment (company appointment - Property Services Plus) today at 10am. Worked with Erik. He was fantastic! Really easy to communicate with, fun, super nice guy. When I mentioned something additionally wrong with the vehicle, he even told me it was something their shop did. I didn't even know that, saved me a whole trip someone else, and he bundled it into my invoice. He was able to add on repair work, service work, and the initial tire work I came in for and still have my vehicle back to me in just a few hours.
