“I did regular maintenance from a dealership which I will not name even though i’ve been going there for many years for this reason. I was printed out what was wrong with my car and it showed my rear drum brakes are in need of maintenance asap and it will cost $700 and change. I don’t have that kind of money. “I guess I'm finally part of the stolen catalytic converter club. It happened Tuesday night somewhere between midnight and 5am. When I came out to my 2008 Toyota Tacoma truck, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. I turned the ignition and heard loud sound from the engine area. Immediately looked under the truck and yup, converter fully cut out. Now since I am new to all this, I looked for a mechanic shop that had good reviews, installed new converters, and would be close to my home in Yorba Linda. (I decided to drive the truck rather to them rather than tow it) I decided on Yorba Linda Auto Service. Im so glad I did. They were straight forward with there estimate, and explained everything so that I could understand what was needed to resolve the issue. They did great work, with a quick turn around (finished in 3 days). They even installed a fitted security shield over the converter to prevent future tampering.
