“The store was cool, arranged nicely. They keep it tidy. Definitely an element of hurry and anxiety when shopping there during the holidays because everyone is hustling to get their stuff. Prices are still pretty high but it's Columbia, what do you expect. If you really look deep, you could find nicely priced items. In my opinion, the shoes are really where it's at but I could be wrong. Cool store located in a nice waterfront area, very nice. :)”

“This review is for Brian. The guy is probably the best sales associate i have dealt with in some time. Customer service in America isn't dead when you visit Becks in Berkeley. It was a Saturday he was there alone and there were about five people in the store. He was extremely efficient in dealing with everyone and making each customer feel tended to. On top of that you never felt the stress he was under. Consistently smiling and staying calm. That being said the guy needs a hand but you wouldn't know it. Give this man a raise! Will be back for sure wherever I need work boots.”

“I've been going to the Mephisto's walking shoes store at 1799-C 4th Street for over a dozen years now for two reasons. First, their walking shoes are excellent, so very comfortable and of exceptional quality. I've also have had a number of shoes reworked by factory trained professionals and received back shoes like new. Second, Cheryl Childress, Mephisto Ambassador, is the most prefect shoe salesperson. She knows her products inside and out, listens with keen interest, genuinely cares about you AND your feet and never rushes you or tries to sell you. Its obvious that she loves her work and feels comfortable with people -- her customers. Cheryl is a real jewel.Mephisto shoes are a bit pricy; however, the quality of the design, material and European craftsmanship more than makes up for the cost. Also, the fact that you can have a pair of shoes reworked one or two times for a modest fee extends the value of your initial investment. I've been to the other prominent walking shoe stores in Berkeley and the Bay Area, yet for the quality of the product and the professionalism and caring of Cheryl, I still keep coming back to the 4th Street shop. “It's always nice shopping here at the Kid's Footlocker. The sale items are clearly marked so the customers don't need to second guess the prices. The sales floor is always clean and clear of clutter & boxes. The shoes are neatly stocked on the walls and the t-shirts are also neatly folded on the shelves.
