We had this on our radar during our recent vacation. At our Lasseter wine tasting a cured meat from here was paired and cemented Fatted Calf as a must do. It did not disappoint. I could go on and on about the flavorful steaks, tasty cured meats, perfectly spiced chorizo and other items we purchased on our way out to Yosemite, but I would be truly remiss if I didn't rave about the phenomenal front counter servers. The server that helped us was so passionate about the butcher selections and his recommendations were spot on and so satisfying. Thanks for such a great experience. It was worth packing our insulated bags to take our goods to part II of our vacation. They even kept our items in the fridge until we were ready to leave and recognized us as soon as we walked back in.

Heck of a Porchetta Sandwich!
Let me give you the scoop on the Fatted Calf Charcuterie in Napa, California - it's a taste bud adventure! First off, the customer service is great. The staff is friendly and eager to help you discover your next favorite sandwich.
Now, onto the main event: their Porchetta sandwich. I write from San Francisco, and about two decades ago, I had my first Porchetta Sandwich. It was love at first bite! I've had my fair share of Porchetta sandwiches in San Francisco since then, thinking they were the pinnacle of Porchetta perfection. That was until last week when we stumbled into the Fatted Calf in Napa. Just wandering around the Oxbow, we popped into their store out of curiosity. The Porchetta immediately grabbed our attention, and we decided to share one.
What a Heck of a Porchetta Sandwich! It's nothing short of a masterpiece! Picture this: radish, carrot, and herb salad with a tangy lemon chili vinaigrette, all held together by what I believe was a baguette. The meat? Juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. Each bite was a revelation.
As if the drool-worthy sandwiches weren't enough, they've got outdoor seating for those who prefer to enjoy their culinary delights right there under the sun (Psst! Don't worry! Benches have umbrellas next to them!). And let me tell you, on a beautiful Napa day, there's nothing better.
Here's the kicker -- I had no idea until after savoring my first sandwich at their Napa location that Fatted Calf also has a spot a mere five minutes from my workplace in the Ferry Building in San Francisco! How had I been so oblivious? Well, my lunch breaks just got a major upgrade.
So, if you're ever in Napa or San Francisco, do yourself a favor and swing by the Fatted Calf Charcuterie. Trust me, your taste buds will be eternally grateful!

I placed a last-minute order after hours the night before a 9:15am pick-up. I called and emailed. I was very worried that they would not get back to me in time for my group lunch, but they called first thing to confirm every detail and had the order ready for me when I needed it. Customer service to the 10th degree! Kudos to a well-oiled machine producing an excellent product. THANK YOU! Our picnic was delicious!

If you find yourself in downtown Napa and near the Oxbow Public Market...a future review of the Oxbow is coming soon...you definitely want to check out the Fatted Calf. A spectacular homage to all things butchery. You would have to look far and wide to find any butcher that can hold a candle to this place. Definitely worth a look when in Napa.

Decades ago, the Coho at Tresidder Memorial Union served a muffuletta with a black olive heavy relish. The Fatted Calf’s rendition is tilted toward green olives. Very well made and perfect for enjoying on the picnic tables outside the shop!

Fantastic place to get a variety of cured meats for a charcuterie board with cheese, or for making sandwiches for a picnic in the park next to this cute storefront in downtown Napa. Fast and efficient service.

Our favorite is the Al Diavola pork chop..so many good options though. Sandwiches & prepared foods are also delicious. High quality meats & packaged food (pasta, dried beans, crackers, etc).

Lots of good stuff. The type of place for individuals who appreciate quality over cost. Not so much a place for people who are on a tight budget.

This little gem of a market hiding just outside the corner of Oxbow Marketplace is the Ideal spot to grab a casual can or bottled libation! Friendly staff featuring great prices on some excellent local brews and ciders. Grab and go and gather your friends at the picnic tables right outside.During summer enjoy listening to headliners playing live and outside at the Oxbow River Stage. Don't forget the charcuterie!

I got the Boudin Noir to make Boudin Noir aux pommes for an end of harvest celebration dinner. Absolutely the best I have ever had! This place never disappoints!

Ordered a charcuterie and cheese board from them and it was presented beautifully. Very impressive and the price is just right. The staff were incredibly cool and made sure the process was easy. Nice outdoor seating area typical of Napa. Covered with a few umbrellas. Directly next to other eateries and sweeteries to continue the tastes of Napa.
