A friend of mine who coaches at CrossfitATR, coach Alex, invited me to check out their locations. I joined CrossfitATR in March 2024 and have been extremely happy with the team, the workouts, and both locations in Kearny Mesa and Mission Valley. “I recently joined P360 La mesa and have really enjoyed attending classes on a regular basis. The coaches are personable and friendly I feel like they do care about their clients. I enjoy the structure of the class and that coaches will demonstrate alternative exercises. The gym itself is clean and everyone does their part to keep it that way. I didn't know if I would like the whole group workout or partner but I've grown to like it. One of the perks is their water dispenser always so clean and cold at the end of a workout. Another cool feature is the performance 360 application where I can track my weight count per exercise and reps and for being only 1 month I am seeing some progress and also better energy levels. So to me it has been worth the investment I will continue to attend Try a free class and take advantage of first month deal and seek those gains!!”

“Joining OrangeTheory Fitness has been an incredible experience. The high-energy, structured workouts are both challenging and motivating, providing a perfect blend of cardio and strength training. The coaches are exceptionally supportive and knowledgeable, always pushing members to achieve their personal best while ensuring proper form and technique.
The community atmosphere is another highlight, fostering a sense of camaraderie and encouragement among members. I'm dedicated to fitness on my own and was not looking to make a workout buddy. Still, occasionally before class the coaches ask all of the members in the room to turn to the person next to them and share a random fact, and voilà - I unexpectedly made a friend who I now always sit beside when we take classes at the same time.
The data-driven approach, with heart rate monitors and performance summaries, offers tangible insights into your progress, rewarding every workout. Initially, I wasn't sure I'd like the heart rate monitor and thought it was too competitive. I joined during a promotion and got the monitor for free, and now I'm glad I have it because the competition is self-motivated, and sometimes with my new workout buddy who I enjoy cheering on.
If you're taking your first class at OrangeTheory, I highly recommend Coach Quinton, aka Coach Q. He embodies what it means to be a coach. He starts every class with what I call a gratitude pose and acknowledgment that we are alive and well. He is personable with every member. He connects with members throughout the class to ensure everyone feels good and gives individual attention to ensure your form is correct.
My personal best classes often happen with Coach Devon. If you like personal shoutouts and coaches who hype you up verbally, you'll probably enjoy Coach Devon. She connects with each member individually and is warm, friendly, and approachable. Coach Devon is great at giving advice and ideas on what you can try next to get the most out of each class.”

“Extreme fitness is my favorite gym. If you’re looking for a place to workout that will challenge you, this is the gym to go to. The owner Alex and staff are great and super supportive. They are always there to help you with a workout and explain how to do it correctly. It’s never boring because workouts change constantly. I also highly recommend the personal training. “Great gym. Personally I don’t talk with people when I work out and none of the staff of other people working out get in my way or try to chat. But I do see them being very friendly with people just joining the gym or who just want to talk. Like I said great spot and good people. Also it is basically never busy. Like nowhere near 24 hour fitness. There is a squat rack open probably 99 times out of a hundred”

“I came in for a drop-in class on a trip to San Diego a few weeks ago, and I am so thrilled I found this gym. Super easy to book a drop-in and very communicative leading up to the workout. “I started at this gym January 2nd 2024 and I’ve been invited to 5 parties, lost 30 lbs, competed 3 times, and continue to meet new incredible people and try new classes! The class floor plan changes each week and follows a similar pattern throughout each day and usually alternates upper body and lower body focus days. At least that is what I’ve noticed. You have the opportunity to do heavier work sometimes and then there is also 4 CrossFit style classes a week if you enjoy Olympic lifting and CrossFit movements. All the trainers are super great that I’ve had so far and are knowledgeable about the movements and mobility! Highly recommend especially for endurance based training and cross training. It’s really helped me lose the weight! They have a few challenges a year and the prices are good and it’s fun to get points! Come to the 430pm class and say hi!”

“This has been one of the least intimidating CrossFit gyms to walk into (in San Diego). Class sizes are small, the coaches are approachable and friendly, the programming is scalable and no one's yelling "no rep" at you, the equipment and gym space is continuously getting upgraded, it's always clean. Coaches and members are genuine and are eager to get to KNOW YOU and not just care about your results or PRs. There are kid friendly, parent friendly, and family oriented classes too--that alone can say a lot about a gym's values. Very glad I chose to try this gym instead of go where everyone else was telling me to go.

P.S. if you're eager to smash the open, qualify for something, or compete--there are [more] competitive class times and multiple locations and all of the coaches are experienced and knowledgeable to push you towards those goals as well.”

“I am new to OTF, just started going in February. I average about 5-6 times a month but my goal is 8. I have never worked out prior and OTF has been so welcoming and encouraging. I love that the workouts are hard but doable, and I can go at my pace and keep challenging myself. “I love this orange theory gym bc it is so big and spacious. There is so much room on the floor section to spread out. The morning staff at the front desk are always so happy and helpful even at 6 am early in the morning. Big shout out to the morning staff - Adriana Kayla and Patrick. The morning coaches ( Christian, MC and Jenna) are outstanding, they make sure your form is correct, play great music, and motivate you during your workout so you make the most of it. I highly recommend checking this OTF out.”
