“Brenda, was awesome, I sat waiting to be called longer than it took her to get my account opened. From the time I sat at her desk it took maybe a total of 20 minutes to complete everything. Awesome.”

“Update: Someone called me back soon after I posted this review. They let me know that I was given incorrect information by the teller and that my name change records are available for employees to see. She was quick to make it right and accept my check as is. I am very happy they got back to me so fast and for making things right. This review is based off of my experience today. I’ve been a member here for almost 40 years. I’ve never had an issue until today. I got married last year and changed my last name. I got that updated at the credit union. Today I walk in with a check that was made out to my maiden name. I was hoping since they have on record my name change, that it wouldn’t be a problem. The lady who helped me told me they don’t have access to those records. She said I would need to bring in my old id with my maiden name or my marriage certificate. I’ve already done this when I changed my name. Why they don’t have access to these items, I have no idea. This is disappointing because I live several hours away and now I have to try and get the check reissued in my married name, which is a hassle because the company from which it came is hard to get ahold of.”

“Purchased a car through them. Outstanding service: 1. They had the lowest rate--I got an astonishing bargain.2. They always supplied new "payment coupons" well in advance of each year.3. When I moved, I had no problems with account transfer procedures. 4. Auto-tellers were always polite, expert, and swift when I made payments. Inside, same gracious staff. Facility was always totally neat, clean, and well organized. ["Where do they get these people? Can I take them home?"]5. "Skips" [for Christmas] absolutely "painless"--a mere call sufficed. 6. Paid off loan early, without any trouble whatsoever. They said, "Sad to see you go. Come back when you need banking services. We'll miss you"!7. Post payoff documentation to me was LIGHTNING FAST; DMV notification and removal of "lien status" equally prompt. I was not "a mere debtor" to this bank. I was treated with the supreme good will and helpfulness I might find from my best friends. I felt like a "family member" receiving not merely funds but service and care. This is a bank that has not merely embraced but refined ethics of professionalism, courtesy, and good will for its customers. This is "best banking". UNRESERVEDLY RECOMMENDED.”

“Yorshua is the absolute best! He went above and beyond the standard customer service and deserves the highest recognition. It’s rare to a person who is willing to maintain communication, good or bad. He was accommodating and very helpful in letting us know what we may or may not be able to do with the transaction we requested. While waiting in the branch we were able to observe the respect and care he gave to other members. Yorshua, we hope you read and feel proud of the work you do. We also hope that your team follows your example and appreciate you for all that you do.Thank you again!Wishing you all the sucesss,Jessica & Victor”

“I''m 71 and remember, before online services, standing in line and doing the usual thing. Nothing particular good or bad about those experiences stand out. Banks are banks. On December 11, 2023 I was let out of Lerdo jail after getting hauled in for Drunk in Public. Stay with me. I had been taken from my home late the night before in Tehachapi by ambulance on report by my wife I had suffered a head injury in a trip and fall at home. I had been drinking some, celebrating the fourth night of Hannukah. EMTs transported me in sweats and a thin t-shirt. I did not have my wallet or a phone. My wife provided the EMTs with my driver's license and medical insurance information. I had never ridden in the back of an ambulance and I was frightened during the trip and the blow to my head when I got to Emergency. I was goofing with the EMTs while I waited for about an hour to been seen by medical staff. Apparently the staff figured me for just being drunk and forgot about the injury. They later stuck me in a dark emergency room on a table and it became clear they were going to have me sleep off my "drunk". My wife of 52 years requires my care for basic needs. I decided to leave. The staff wouldn't have it; I was their prisoner apparently. An argument ensued and I was then asked to leave which I did. I didn't realize how cold it was that night since I'd been indoors that entire Sunday. There I was trying to make it the mile home in bare feet with no coat. I got a few hundred yards and local police pulled up. Was I glad to see them! I couldn't feel my feet in the near-freezing temperature of midnight. They promptly arrested me for being drunk in public and disorderly conduct at the hospital. The hospital called police on me "for my own good". Yeah, I suppose they would know that putting me out with shoes in that weather wasn't exactly for an old guys with a head injury's good. I spent that night and until midday on the 11th in Lerdo, about fifty miles from home. It was the first time I'd ever been jailed. It was uncomfortable, annoying and I couldn't sleep. It's jail. The jail staff was professional and more or less accommodating. I was provided rubber slippers and I stumbled out to get picked up by some sort of shuttle to deliver me to a regional bus station in downtown Bakersfield. I don't know Bakersfield, and I sure didn't know where Lerdo was from home. I was surprised to learn I had $61 in cash in my sweats when I got processed in at Lerdo. I figured I'd get that back when I got sprung. The kept that cash and gave me a check on discharge. What the heck was I going to do with a check with no ID and no phone to call my wife? I asked about at the bus place and learned there was a Wells Fargo on 22nd Street, which meant nothing to me in directional help but I soon saw the bank sign when I walked the couple of blocks. I'm not a Yelp reviewer. I've posted a couple of times in all these years and usually to say something good. I looked homeless when I got into the bank. A wonderful and kind young lady name Carolina listened to my story when I present my jail check. My wife and I are longtime Wells Fargo customers and at least one account is stuffed with a lot of money. Carolina and another wonderful lady named Jessica worked hard to figure out how to get that jail check cash. I mean, who the heck am I trying to dun someone's account with no ID? I was so embarassed for being a public miscreant, apparently, and I'm still embarassed by it. Jail for goodness sake. What a panic to get home, eat, shower and sleep and be with my wife. (She got a little sleep the night before and in the morning to call the hospital and they told her I wasn't there.) Carolina and Jessica made it happen. They had keen ideas about how to protect a customer's account and help me at the same time. They did it! They helped me phone my wife and she was going to come get me. She hasn't driven in four years but made it down the sketchy highway”

“I love Safe 1. At the time I opened my checking account with them I was having trouble finding a credit union or bank that did not charge any monthly fees unless you had direct deposit and/or over X amount of money in it at all times, which I knew I wouldn't have. After some searching I found that Safe 1 did not have any fees like this. Their checking account terms were the best of any other place at the time. For the past 5 years I've been happy with them. The staff are friendly and helpful. Their debit card works with a huge network of other credit union ATMs for no transaction fee, which is a great perk (I can always find an ATM in any city I go to and there are a ton of qualifying ATMs all around town). The only reason I am giving it 4 stars out of 5 is that their hours are not great if you work normal business hours. They are not open before 8am nor past 5:15pm, and they are closed on the weekends. If I need to go in for something, I can only do it during my lunch break. But, because of the other positives, I've stuck with them for the past 5 years.”

“Is Valley Republic Bank an affiliate synonymous to Central Valley Community Bank? And if so, will Valley Republic Bank [in Bakersfield, CA., U.S.A.] cash checks with the Central Valley Community Bank logo on the face of the check?”

“Really, queen?Oh C'mon, Karen!! We are in the middle of a pandemic! Don't expect to walk in and out in no time! Tellers are overwhelmed with too many clients yet they always have a positive attitude despite their customers rudeness. Bankers are on appts only, but they always answer questions to non scheduled customers. Yes, the lines are long, but it is because this branch is one of the best in town, not to mention that this location also follows CDC health guidelines.”

“I've had this bank for years, Vickie has always been a part of my great experience . I've always received fast and efficient service , even when I show up 5 minutes before closing. The only reason I didn't give it is 5 stars is because of the wait time to receive a new card, I have to pay 8 dollars and wait almost 2 weeks. Some banks have where they can make a card then and there. Hopefully this can be upgraded in the future! Other than that please continue the great work! =)”
