“I was very impressed with the service. I took my car in for an oil change. I was helped immediately. They changed the oil and checked the rest of the fluids and changed the air filters, which really needed to be changed, and I was out in, about 10 minutes. Will definitely go back.”

“I failed to see on my DMV renewal that I needed a smog check in order to get my 2024 tags so I had to get my car smog check ASAP. At first the person who helped me was a little gruff but it was early in the morning the day after Thanksgiving and he quickly warmed up. What impressed me the most is the time it took to get in and out of there. He got right down to business and I don't even think I was there 15 minutes. The other thing I liked is that I told him I had a coupon and he didn't even have to look at it before giving me the discount. At the place I went to last time I needed the smog check, the guy fought with me because I didn't print out and bring the coupon with me. I refused to pay without the discount and he finally caved, but nobody wants that experience. This experience was great in comparison and I not only recommend this place but will be back when it is time to get the smog check again.”
“Tim, Jose, Santi, Moses, and Rocky were all so helpful! I came in and they helped me so quickly that I was out within 30 minutes. The distract manager, Jesse, was also there and was super friendly. Everybody made sure that I was happy with the service. They even stayed open late for me. I would definitely recommend this shop. Way cheaper than what the dealer quoted me!!”
“Recently I've felt like "I need to start writing more 3 or 4 star reviews, to show balance", but my experience at Tony's is NOT one where I'm going to start. When you find a mechanic that is not only knowledgable and has solid work ethic, but shows EMPATHY? Yeah, that's one you hold on to. Tony and his wife Susan were incredibly kind to me, even when my first time there I was not as patient due to the stress of the situation that I brought to THEIR door step. But after a month and a half and 3 or 4 positive experiences, I can honestly say this is a great place to bring your car when you are up the proverbial automotive creek without a paddle. They will take care of you. It may not look exactly as you had expected, but that's their job. To explain the reality, point out your options, and do a thorough job, while not making you feel like the less then mechanically inclined individual many of us are. Will be back. For sure.”

“I would like to leave a good review about this place. I arrived with a brake problem. and I was billed $170 to diagnose and find the cause of the problem. when the master got behind the wheel and drove away. the car repaired itself. I still haven’t figured out how. but the master wanted to continue the inspection. I refused. the guys wasted their time on me and didn’t take my money. I am thankful. it's fair of them. and honestly where is it worth going there ?”

“This is a family owned small business. I've been going here for a few years for maintenance, and they even did an engine replacement for me on one of my vehicles. I appreciate the what feels like honest straight forward communication. I get the problem isolated and explained along with the solution(s) suggestions. The shop isn't the cheapest but trust worthy and they stand behind the work. I have seen the 3 year warranty sign on the front desk. I personally have never had to use that warranty.I've heard you get 2 out of 3 things in business transactions:time, quality, or price.These guys fall in the medium for time and price and high quality in my opinion. “I am blown away at how honest and helpful Dominic is at Jay's. I've always gone to only the dealership for my Infiniti but when I found out I needed a new catalytic converter and it was going to cost $3000, I decided to look outside the dealership to get some quotes. Based on the reviews, I called Jay's. Dominic was incredibly helpful and although I asked for a quote for the work, he suggested that we try cleaning this catalytic converter with a product called CataClean that I could try on my own and may prevent the need for the costly repairs. My car gas 173,700 miles on it and I needed to get a smog check to renew my registration at the end of the month. I need to get this taken care of quickly. Dominic told me what to do on my own and checked to make sure the cleaner worked. I purchased the product on my own (per his guidance) and his instructions were clear and it allowed me to pass the smog inspection. I am elated!! And Dominic did not charge me a penny. He gave the advice for free to avoid the repairs. I was ready to spend thousands if needed because I thought I had to. Dominic could made money on me - but instead, told me how to avoid it. I feel like I was treated like a sister or a friend. I am blown away by this experience. I now know who I will go to for any car maintenance and repairs - these guys have integrity and great values. “I got estimates From Honda for my van and Ford for my Mercury. Then I went to Dana Point Automotive as they had won our town's Best auto repair for many years. So thankful I went to them. Honda told me I had to replace the timing belts, replace power steering pump, repair leaking transaxle. Those repairs were over 3 thousand dollars, and that did not include the AC compressor, or the AC evaporator. Eric at Dana Point Auto said the transaxle was not leaking and nothing wrong with the power steering pump. He replace a hose and an O ring for $25 versus the 1000 dollars to replace the power steering pump at Honda. Eric said the AC evaporator was good and did not need to be replaced. So my total bill was a fraction of what it would have been at Honda. I took my Mercury in and encountered the same situations. I was told the transaxle on Mercury was leaking but it was the transmission oil cooler. He did a complete service on the Mercury at a fraction of what the quoted charges at Ford were. In this day of not being able to trust anyone, it was most rewarding to encounter an honest businessman. They are not the cheapest, but Eric does not pad the bill, and most importantly they do not fix anything that is not broken. I think Dana Point Auto rightfully earns the award of Best Automotive Repair Business in Dana Point. I am a 37 year resident of Dana Point, CA. Patrick. My vehicles run like new and no leaks. Naum in particular was great in every respect. Explained everything prior to starting. While servicing the staff was loud and clear, double checked everything and was out the bay in 20 minutes. If you need a quick oil change- this is your place !!!”

“Carlos Klink and his wife who works at the front desk are genuinely helpful and kind. One of my engine's piston/cylinder was not firing on the eve of New Year's Eve just as I was driving back to Colorado from San Clemente to beat a winter storm -- when my engine light started to flash. Carlos diagnosed my issue immediately, identified the defective part (the coil) and replaced it on the spot within 2 hours. I am grateful for his expedited service with minimal cost.”
