“I haven’t felt a warm vibe in every shop on Piedmont and vintage stores can be kind of snobby sometimes but I’m happy to say that that frigidaire environment has NOT been my experience at Sunshine Prophecy. The vibe is super warm and inviting; There is ALWAYS good music playing; The employees there are always very patient with any of my (often MANY haha) questions; — AND I’ve never felt pressure to buy anything if I wasn’t ready. — That is especially important to me bc in order to budget I purposely do LONG leads on items I’m interested in. I might stop in once or twice and ask questions/do price checks before I finally treat myself and they always treat me like a paid customer. Clothes, jewelry, purses are cute. LOVE their witchy candles, herbs, and TAROT CARDS. It seems like the owner of this store had more of a “creative calling ” then just a bottom line in starting this business.”
“Pretty penny is my favorite! Every visit I find an incredible selection of clothes, jewelry and accessories at totally fair prices. The owner, Sarah, is always friendly and helpful.”

1355 Park St, Alameda“I love this shop! I brought in about 20 CD's to sell and they bought them all for a good price - when does this ever happen?? The staff is very friendly and helpful. While here, I picked up Jennifer Egan's A Visit From the Goon Squad in excellent condition for $5 bucks. They also have a great selection of DVD's. Another thing of note is that the store is very well organized and tidy, making it easy to find what you're looking for.”
“Outstanding fair prices and a huge ever-turning selection. I’m so glad I learned about this place! Ryan and team are fun and helpful. I bought mattresses, chairs, couches, and even a piano! Always shop here first!”
“I got the pleasure to meet Mr. Marcu (the manager of the store) who sent those Idiot robbers packin' the way he did!
Way to go, Mr. Marcu!

“I saw a vintage black 49ers crew neck on Instagram and the owner responded quickly to my inquiry. I was able to come down the same day to buy it. The owner is incredibly nice and always responsive on social media, which made my shopping experience even better. It's a wonderful feeling to support a small business, especially one that offers such a unique and high-quality selection.”
“It's a beautiful store with so much selection. They have everything from books to clothes, furniture, unique household items and jewelry. I like that the staff was nice and didn't bother you and didn't mind us going through everything and just taking out time.”
“Had a haircut/color consultation and later a full color with Nora and they were fantastic! Nora really listened to what I wanted and helped me figure out an awesome dye job when I couldn't make up my mind. I loved getting my hair done there!”
“I have been coming to Radbird for several years. I can always find stylish designer pieces although they tend to be on the pricier side of preowned clothing. Their prices seem to always land somewhere between $200-$400. The fine jewelry collection is gorgeous. The ladies who work there are always kind but the fitting rooms could use some full length mirrors.”

21 Orinda Way # A, Orinda“I love this spot. The ladies here are always wanting to help and the selection is awesome. Whenever I get off work a little early, I try to make it into this shop to see what is new. I have found some amazing earring as well as other fun household objects. Hilton House find great quality item and has reasonable prices. This place has become my guilty pleasure for searching for treasures I probably don't need, but they are just so neat!”
“Excellent selection and customer service. We had a rough time planning for Christmas this year. I ordered a handful of items online and they wrapped everything free of charge and had it ready to go for us. They have a large selection of dress up toys, second hand clothing, and toys that encourage imaginative play.”

1428 Park St, Alameda“Love this store so much! Good selection of shoes, baby gear and maternity clothes. Also offer better value on trade-ins compared to next door. I appreciate being able to browse/shop online on their up-to-date website.”
“Their Berkeley location has closed permanently. Their Walnut Creek store has apparently 6000 feet of showroom space and I'd love to check it out if I'm ever out that way”
“I’ve always driven by but never stopped in since it was after hours. I got a chance to pop in today and I found so many treasures! The owner/buyer had a great eye for unusual and precious antiques. I picked up fantastic Christmas ornaments, a stunning smoky topaz ring, and vintage Japanese porcelain aquarium decor. The latter could be used in plant terrariums too. They kindly offered my dog a treat and made me feel welcome.”
“I often pop in here to get second hand clothes or shoes for my kids. Recently it was my son's 4th birthday and we were all home sick. He had been asking everyday for over a month if his birthday was tomorrow and if he could please have a spider stuffie. He was so sad to miss his birthday at school and I had had no time to buy him a present because we had back ti back illnesses for a month. I called Kelly's corner, they had one and asked if I could pay over the phone and have her toss it out the door to me so as not to infect anyone .she was so sweet and offered to drive the gift to my house (we lived nearby)after work. She even wrapped it in a gift bag and added a few trinkets. It made his day and meant so much to me. Thank you!”
“Great place to shop. Whenever I'm looking for something special, I go to the discovery store in Oakland. I am always pleased and amazed at the selection! Check it out!”
“Great second hand woman's clothing store! We went with the whole family and found so many great things for my wife. The kids were cheering on mom as she found so many great items. But in all seriousness, there were lots of really nice designer clothing and accessories for women. Great shop!”
“Great service and quality for restoring lamps. Excellent selection of shades and lamps if you are looking for something to fit your Victorian or older home.I have 3 lamps from them -- 2 they restored for me. They look and work great! Currently have a 4th one in the shop there for restoration. Beautiful!”

3380 Vincent Rd, Pleasant Hill“This place runs mostly on volunteers. The best I can figure is they get food from grocery stores and such that's not fit for display ( I think the term is "reclaimed food") and distribute it to various charitiesThey also distribute clothing and things like that. Check them out.”
“It is a higher end thrift store that sells clothes, jewelry and home goods. New inventory is added every day. It’s a clean place to shop run by volunteers, and every purchase supports the American Cancer Society.”
“Always some fun new rotating items! Makes me feel like I’m at the able sisters shop from animal crossing with their displays changing. The staff/volunteers are friendly and make good conversation. Decently priced home goods too!”
“cute items for home clothes and accessories. priced well! i may come shop and donate
here! proceeds go to
women in shelters. great mission and vision and style!”
“Since living around this area, I love going in there to take a look around their nice selection of vintage clothing and accessories. The downside is, I don't think they have updated their open hours.Went in there around 11 and they were still closed. I hope they update their business hours if they have changed! Would love be able to go when I know they will for sure be open”
“Hubby and I drove to Danville for a change of scenery and accidentally found this shop (conveniently right across from Moda Mi (sp?), an adorable European shop). Not only is this consignment shop beautiful complete with an awesome fish tank, it has GREAT prices! There was a red vintage Chanel suit that was waaay too small, a beautiful Bulgari handbag (hint, hint...honey, are you reading this? me likey!), and a fantastic selection of Tiffany jewelry. Not sure why anyone would ever pay full price when you have a shop like this??Met the fashionable owner; I want to dress like her someday!”

5401 Coliseum Wy, Oakland“I've gotten a lot of great stuff from this flea market. There's tons of video games, collectibles, antiques, tools, junk and not to mention your every day convenience store things. There's also a great little section with produce. Takes about an hour to walk the whole thing if you keep a good pace but also take your time to look through some things. Some of the venders don't bend on prices but a lot of them will, so make sure to haggle a little! It's open every day of the week but I've found Tuesdays and Thursdays are the best days to go! Saturday and Sundays are fun but they tend to have a lot more newer msrp value things opposed to old used things. Definitely recommend this flea market for anyone in the bay area.”
“This is my fave consignment shop!!! I found a beautiful crystal necklace that I will wear on one of my next adventures--oohlala! I also found some boots and a jacket that my friend might like. Divine Consign has lots of very unique items--clothing including jackets and coats, jeweiry, hats, and shoes that you probably won't find any of your friends have. They accept items for consignment, but it is important to ask Joy what they are taking before cleaning out your closet. They are a high-end consignment shop that we are fortunate to have these days. Go in to get presents for your friends or for giving a gift for yourself!!!”
