Nye was our sleep expert and when I came in the day after she was so helpful and honest about her opinions. She made sure to divert the kids to something else so I could try the beds myself. When it came time for the paperwork, she took out the Lego table so the girls would have something else to do. I really appreciated Nye and we will totally be back to get my daughter’s bed when the time comes!”

“If we could rate higher than 5 stars, we would. Daniel is the owner of Mattress Store Pasadena and manned the store over Easter weekend when we wandered in. At first, I thought we'd just get some info, shop around later in more stores and compare prices online, then make a final decision in the summer when we actually need the bed. Instead, we walked out not only having purchased a new bed, but having one of the best retail experiences, feeling confident about our purchase and feeling fully taken care of. I'm normally skeptical of any pushy or shady sales tactics, but Daniel slowly and patiently won over my trust. He is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced with what he's selling, and really took his time explaining each option, giving us tips on how to best shop and feel for mattresses in stores. He wanted us to make the right decision based on needs and price, and never did we feel pressured or sold to. Instead, it felt more like getting a unbiased lesson on how to choose a bed and how to sleep well. When appropriate, he voluntarily left the store and gave us space to discuss privately. The top notch experience did not end once he got the sale. He was incredibly flexible with post-purchase leading up to the delivery. 2 months after our purchase when we called to get the delivery scheduled, he was able to recall exactly what we purchased and action it straight away. He went out of his way to get the bed delivered for us over the 4th of July holiday weekend. All of the above felt so personal and a giant step beyond any uniform push to make a profit. Finally, the purchase itself: I personally hated Tempur-pedic products and they've had a bad rep, but in working with Daniel (instead of being sold to), over the course of this experience, we ended up buying a Tempurpedic ProAdapt. I've waited a month to write the review as it takes time to experience a new bed. Everything Daniel advised was indeed true. This is one the best beds we've ever had and we have had improved sleep and posture thanks to Daniel's help. We really can't recommend this store and Daniel enough, and wholeheartedly advise you go to him if you need a new bed, or want better sleep.”

Jake was able to listen to our gripes and offer solid feedback and eye opening knowledge and (this was the kicker for me) all without being a pushy salesman. It was clear that Jake wasn’t just trying to make a sell but genuinely wanted to hook us up with the best options for our needs. At no point did we feel pressured or rushed to close. He gave us at least two hours of his time as we bounced back and forth from one bed to the next and then back again. “I very very rarely ever write a 5 star review. Like, hardly ever. But there's a little history with me and UH. I remember when I was in my late 20's early 30's (if I remember correctly) driving by this place on my way to Costco. Back then, I remember walking in there and thinking to myself, "Dang... all this stuff is cool.". But being young and broke (let's be honest, we've all been there...) I knew that I couldn't afford things that were *that* beautiful and unique given where I was professionally and financially at the time. Fast forward until not too recently, things have changed for me. I went back to University, graduated with a degree that contributes more to society, and now I'm exactly where I need to be. Words can't explain how good it felt to come back to this place and buy ALL the cool things I want for my home - wife permitting. About the store - Trying to describe the collections of furniture in this place is like asking someone to explain what a color looks like. It's impossible and can only be seen. One word that I can think of that's fitting is 'eclectic'. There's absolutely something for everyone in here. There are some legitimate art pieces in here. Some are awesome, and some weren't for me. Again... think eclectic. There was art and furniture from India, Vietnam, Malaysia (I think? Could be wrong on Malaysia), and a few other countries that I can't recall at the moment. On a totally separate note, Mike's Spotify playlist is pretty awesome. It's oddly fitting given the vibe of the store. About the people - Mike and his family are super easy to talk to. They'll take the time to discuss the look, or better yet vibe, that you're after and bounce some ideas around. The prices - Lets again be honest here. This is far from Ikea. There's nothing here, to my knowledge anyway, that will require you to assemble anything. That being said, this place is also very far from West Elm, Crate and Barrel, or Potter Barn. It's absolutely reasonable and logical. A vast majority of the time, you get EXACTLY what you pay for. The delivery experience - Tio and tall guy (I'm terrible with names - could be wrong on both counts) were on time, professional, courteous, and careful especially with my new wood floors. 10/10. TLDR: Just stop by. Talk to Mike. If you buy know the delivery process is great. Support small businesses. You'll be happy that you did if not just to go and appreciate the wall art on display.”

“Sofa Interiors did a great job with restuffing our existing living room sofa and replacing the creaky pullout bed with springs! Would recommend them for any upholstering and sofa services. I used the Yelp projects function to send out our ask, which was to restuff our two-seater sofa cushions, and also remove the interior pull out bed, which we hadn't used in years. Scott from Sofa interiors had a fast and thorough response, with a competitive price quote depending on our choice of foam quality and also including the price of springs. They were easy to communicate with and answered all of my questions promptly and thoroughly. They offered pick up and delivery too. Pick up with smooth, with the additional note that there was some tufting that had to be done and also upgrading the front piece which we understood and also signed off on. After giving our deposit, the sofa was off for repair. It took less than a week to finish everything! Back home, it was good as new- the cushions no longer sagged in the middle, and the bed was replaced with springs underneath for good support. We can now use our sofa for many more years to come. It was a pleasure to work with Sofa Interiors and would highly recommend them.”

He answered all of my questions without trying to push me in a particular direction. She is the sweetest person you could ever hope to deal with! They had a lot of stuff on the floor, but they were also able to order a lot of pieces from their suppliers for me. “For whatever reason, this business didn't even show up in the top ten of furnture refinishers that I found in Yelp. Being a good Yelper, I went down this top ten list and what did I find? People evidently living out of their vans; self-entitled, pretentious morons that acted like maybe they'd help me if I was lucky; people with no working phone numbers; people that never returned phone calls (of course getting someone to actually pick up a phone call was a nonstarter), etc. etc. Then I remembered that a neighbor had recommended a nearby refinishing business on York Blvd. and I confirmed with her that the business was the Portico Collection. They run a large and very busy operation there and I'm really surprised they aren't better known on Yelp. We originally went to Portico simply because we were having problems properly supporting our mattress and box spring on an antique wooden bed frame my wife inherited from her Great Aunt. Instead of the ridiculous prattle we got from everyone else, we found people at Portico with whom we could easily communicate, who understood our problem. We were told to bring the frame down in its entirety, which we did. Portico worked out a strong and sturdy solution for this, using a series of perfectly-fitting supporting slats. We also took Portico's suggeston to bag on the "distressed" look for our 70 year old bed frame and let them refinish it, which they did PERFECTLY. It all took a while and it wasn't cheap but we are very, very happy with the outcome. It's obvious to me that they are true professionals and take a great deal of pride in their work.”
