I placed an order at midnight last night. It asked for my form of payment, and immediately stated "thank you for your order" It did not give me the opportunity to change the address to where it was being shipped. I was shipping to my daughter in law in FL. I called customer service immediately and received an automated system telling me to call back in the morning. I called back to modify the address,. A Philippino (very difficult to understand) woman told me that my order could not be modified once the order was placed. I said that the order was not supposed to ship for another week, and asked "why is it not possible to change the address?" She told me sorry that is our policy. They cannot change the address once the order is placed, and I could not even cancel the order because it was beyond 30 minutes after the order was placed. I asked to speak with a manager, Vince in Escalations, also in the Philippines that told me the exact same thing. This customer service is crap and I will never place another online order with JCPenney. It's forcing me to give at least one star so I will. BE ADVISED, THERE ARE NO MODIFICATIONS ALLOWED TO ORDERS ONCE PLACED, AND JCP CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE AND NOT EVEN IN THIS COUNTRY The best I can hope for is that once UPS has the package I can contact them and change the address. ABSURD

Wow. I have not had great customer service in the salon in the past (multiple canceled appointments, including for a plumbing issue), but my recent experience an hour ago takes the cake. Biolage is on sale online--but "not in store". So--I can order it online, ship it to store (will be as it's over 35) and pick up for the price I expected. Does the ad not say "visit store to purchase"? And is this a case of false advertising?

Ordered glasses on 6/30/23 and was told they would be ready in 10 working days (if it takes that long). As of today, have not received any info on glasses. I have left several messages that gave not been returned. Horrible, horrible service JCPenney.

JC Penny Bayshore, NY 11706I didn't have the time this past Thursday 3/30/23 to make a complaint due to my busy schedule. However, I will like to start off by saying I'm an 40 plus year old African American women. I walked into your establishment on this day around 5:15-5:20pm (straight from work). I had some free time prior to needing to pick up my children. My experience was okay (no staff help ) but I managed to find some things for my 4yr daughter and was amazed by the sale at that time.After this purchase I went to pick up my children from Daycare my 4yr old daughter and 12yr old son and headed back to the store to do some more shopping (the sale was amazing I did not want to miss out).However, this time around from the time I walked in and began to shop my kids and I were being followed and watched. Of course I ignored the uneasy feeling because I know I wasn't doing anything wrong so I carried on. As much as, I wanted to cause a secene I kept my composure not to embarrass my children as they watch mommy yell and carry on. I was racially profiled during this visit. To be followed around the store with my 4 and 12yr old up until I reached the register is beyond embarrassing despite being uncomfortable my entire visit. What amazing sales you had, but I will not return. The experience was even worse at the register when a manager showed as I handed the guy three twenty dollars bills that was snatched out his hand and marked immediately.Leaving the cashier beyond confused he said "we check twenties too" as he was shoved out of the way. I wish I would've canceled my purchase right than and there I will not be a return customer at this establishment. I will like this matter to be addressed to your staff. I was humiliated infront of many on line behind me. The manager mic was so loud I can hear the other person on the speaker talking, advising her to check my money. She said I'm here now at the register, doing so.Today 4/2nd I returned two items under Tran :7498 and will look to bring the rest in days to come. I didn't deserve to be treated like a theft nor a criminal. I hope you all take actions to save other customers to deal with such a poor experience. I looked forward to hearing from someone about my inquiry.

Their customer service department needs work. I brought in a sport jacket to exchange for a different size. True, I did not have a receipt, however I paid for it with my JC Penney card. The jacket had never been worn and was still in it original bag. Eileena the customer service rep decided to make the exchange (a simple swap) but wanted my driver's license, unfortunately I left it in my car. She held the new jacket for me until I returned with my license. When I returned with license in hand, Eileena was gone. Another rep was in her place and questioned my exchange. She called a manager over to approve the transaction. She appeared curt and a bit rude. She did not approve the exchange based on no receipt and no bar code. She mentioned that Eileena was from another dept and didn't know what she was doing. I explained that I could retrieve the barcode from home, at that point she simply walked away. It was quite obvious that this department lacks value-added customer service. I will never be back to JCPenney. I have shopped the store for over fifty years even taking my mom during her last years of life with fond memories. Shame on JCPenney.

What? No refunds on items after 30 days even with a receipt. Screw this store & their new store policy, I will NEVER shop here again!!!

I love some of Penney's clothes but I hate going in this store. This store is hot. They closed half the dressing rooms. Part of the woman's section is downstairs. You have to go upstairs to try on clothes. I threw down the clothes I had and shopped somewhere else. You can never find anyone to help you. The checkout lines are few with long lines. I would love to see this store fix it's problems and start again. I now shop at Kohls. Kohls gives a senior discount on Wednesdays and Kohls opens two hours earlier than Penneys. I went to this Penneys early one day and was so disappointed.

Have been coming to this exact JC Pennys Portrait Studio for 16 years continuously and have always bought the same Groupon. My family and I have always got to choose up to 4 to 5 different backgrounds, but have always resorted to using two Christmas backgrounds. This year around, they decided to verbally tell us in Person at our appointment that we weren't allowed to pick more than 1 Christmas background. They told us that it has always been the policy, yet no where online, on the Groupon, in their store, or any of the binding agreements of sale state anything with the policy of not allowing more than 1 Christmas background. They are just trying to up-sell us, and after talking to the supervisor of customer service they said it was a new policy they were upholding, and after asking where it is legally stated in the agreement he kept telling me, "I understand your frustration..."

They tell you the dressing rooms are closed and you have to go to other side of Store. Then when you get over there the rude Custo.er Service rep tells you that you have to go. Ack where you started!! I will never shop at JC Penny again! I will shop online and not at Jc Penny! I cut up there card. No wonder they are hurting g for Business!!!

I got some really great priced Dockers pants for 40% off! A woman named Bobbie was very helpful, along with a few other employees who helped direct me to where I needed to look. Jcpenny definitely has better prices than other department stores, and still great quality and selection.

I have a different reason than most for giving JCPenney (in general) one star. Their online system is not connected to their stores. Their system is archaic and the employees agree that it is. I bought items online during Christmas but the sizes were wrong. I started an online return but found that I would be charged $8 in shipping. Instead, I went to my closest JCPenney in Escondido, CA only to find that they could not return due to my pending return that I started online. They said I needed to call the online number to make the return. For the inconvenience of my purchase I give a one star. I work and don't have time to deal with this. Shopping through Amazon is much better because of the convenience, no cost in gas, and as a Prime member, no shipping fees. I will not purchase from JCPenney again.

Cashier did not look happy today and was in need of an attitude adjustment. Asked to speak to manager bc we refused the use of a coupon and were asked for a photo ID to verify use of our account. We've been to this store a bunch of times and not asked for ID. Another customer was not asked for his ID bc he had his card on him which btw DOESNT have a picture. Manger wasn't helpful or even accommodating. JC Penny's wonders why their sales revenues are down. Here's a hint TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS! Stop the limited coupons, hire staff that have a better attitude and train your managers to LEAD by example in maintaining current customers by being more accomodating. Not a positive experience and am OTW to CLOSE this useless account!

I don't shop at JcPenneys. Todays trip there justified my choice. I received 2 tops from here for my birthday. I needed to exchange them for a smaller size. When I got there, I asked an employee if I could exchange these tops and she said yes and pointed me in the direction of the tops. They had one left and it just didn't fit me right. I decided to exchange them for a couple of sweaters instead. I waited in a line for about 15 minutes only to be told that I would have to go downstairs to the returns department. I then asked him to look up the price of these 2 tops and he told me they were $19.99 a piece. I had 2 sweaters and a sweater for my dog picked out. I sent my husband downstairs to make the return while I ran to another store in the mall. That's when it all went to hell in a hand basket. My husband waited in line for another 15 minutes to be told that somewhere in San Diego in the last 30 days, someone paid $7.99 for this same top so that is what it was worth. What a scam. I'm sure this is one of the many reasons why JC Penney's is suffering. All they need to do is offer good service and they can't do that. And how about signs that say all returns and exchanges have to be downstairs? Who would want to shop there with these bad policies in place? Not me.

I'm 51 years old and I've never experienced what happened to me today, I walked into JCPenney to take a look at a few pieces of clothing for myself and as I walk in this employee is staring at me, so bad so that I greeted him politely, he also said yes and started to walk behind me, as I look back three times, he was staring at me every single time, so I stopped and asked him if there was something wrong,( I wasn't wearing a mask ), so he said that he wasn't staring at me, asked me if I was doing something wrong, but the way I have short hair and glasses wearing jeans and a fleece is not like I'm a homeless person or anything like that, in the end I said forget it, he was being so rude that I just decided to move on with my shopping. He shouted something while I was going upstairs... I was shocked I'm not going to lie to you, I didn't buy anything and will never set my foot on that store again as well as my family. Come on JCPenney, it's time to start training your employees better, no surprise your store is full of one stars, I would given you half or no star if I could. Good luck when visiting that store.
