“I went to University Avenue, Palo Alto on a leisure walk. Saw a KEEN store on the way, and I am also looking for a Hiking shoe by the way for simpler hikes. I was assisted by Sonia, who was so patient, meticulous, and nice. Measuring my feet, explaining about multiple shoes and their quirks. Loved the KEEN NXIS speed and picked up a pair of. I love the shoes, it's comfy and fit for my feet. This was a wholesome shopping experience, even better than the ones in REI, which themselves are generally good.”

“Amazing store. You walk in and they are friendly and helpful, do a full scan, run test, sole test, etc all free of charge, let you try on whatever you want with expert guidance, and are super helpful on finding products without being pushy.One saleswoman, Genesis, was particularly amazing. I needed new road-running shoes, and she took me through all the tests, was unbelievably friendly and professional, suggested the shoes I would need and what might be better or worse for me, and pointed out various things about my running style, feet, etc. All super fast and super fun. She then helped me try on all the different shoes she suggested (she can carry five+ boxes at once... wow), and was just the right amount of helpful, stepping away when I needed time to try them out, and coming back (almost psychically) when I wanted advice or had questions. I ended up getting shoes and soles and would easily pay more than what I did for them. I even bought the store membership (I never do this) because of how clearly Genesis made it out to be helpful to me.Overall, wonderful store with a great philosophy, and absolutely one of the best salespeople I've talked to (Genesis). I went on a run afterwards with my new shoes and my half-marathon time went down by a staggering 40 minutes from 2:36 to 1:58.”

“Kevin W. is the man! I walked in with a weird shoe problem and after a few diagnostic questions Kevin had me at the wall looking at replacement shoes. Adjustment Qs this and that to fine tune what my want is -- then he walks back with shoes and does the fit and rings them up. I was out the door in 25 minutes total.Lesson: Walk in shoes and listen for weird noise before you buy them: every, single, time.Lesson 2: The replacement shoes weren't fitted correctly, they are 'wide' which I had no idea what that meant but it means they have a huge toe area -- Im not returning them again but lesson is this store isn't exactly good at fitting.”

After he found the perfect shoe, the store did not have the color he wanted. Vanessa suggested that we order it online directly from the manufacturer. She gave us the label to take a picture to make sure we ordered the right shoes. She even said if we needed to return an online order we can return it to her store.We were all blown away by the amazing customer service. We will definitely be returning customers!”

“This was fun. Blondie and I stopped by to just look around. I'm not in a position to shop here, except for something special perhaps. On the first floor is the cologne/perfume area, and I looked for a Dolce & Gabbana area, which they don't have. When I asked someone, I got attention from three people who were eager for me to try some exclusive brand that NM carries. We started talking about cologne scents like others discuss wine, which was new for me. Do I like citrus, or something a bit astringent? I didn't even know how to answer, but they had plenty of options for me to try. They handed me a glass of champagne, and even offered a second, which I declined. I took a look at the third floor restaurant and bar, because I was more likely to eat there than shop much elsewhere in the store. The menu looked casual impressive. Again, I really enjoy looking around a NM, regardless of whether I get anything.”

“10/29/23I returned to order the petite jeans. This time the POS system was working. Teresa was very polite and helpful in getting my jeans ordered and expedited to me. I asked for the name of yesterday's cashier because I'd like to acknowledge her. She was very polite and patient while I tried to get my credit card problem resolved. Her name, I believe is Raji.. thank you all at Madewell 10/28/23Today I went shopping for jeans. I've worn Madewell jeans for quite a few years now so I stopped in there to see if I could find a replacement pair of jeans. I found that the style I currently have do not fit the same way as before so I tried on a new style, Vintage in dark wash. Hummm I liked them but since I'm short, the salesperson, Christina, suggested I try the petite version of the jeans.I decided to go ahead and purchase the ones they had in the store and order the petite version. When it came time to process the purchases, my credit card kept getting declined. I called my credit card company and they assured me that the card was working. It still would not process...the cashier there was very kind and patient, which I very much appreciated. She tried and tried and even moved the sale to a different register. Nothing worked.Brian, one of the managers came over to see what was happening and took the time to assist me in determining what the problem was. I am very appreciative of his professionalism and patience as we continued to try to get my card to work. It turned out that the simple purchase transaction went fine, but there was a problem with the on-line order where my card address was different from the ship to address. Brian hung in there with me trying everything and never showed any impatience.I am very impressed with the level of customer service and patience I experienced today...It was not a huge sale, just a pair of jeans.Thank you Madewell for the excellent customer service. I will go back another day to see if the problem has been resolved so I can order another pair of jeans..”

I had to return damaged shoes, and even though I had the receipt, I had made the mistake of taking the tags off, so technically, I hadn't met the requirements for a refund.She was helpful, polite, and accommodating. She gave great customer service, and because of her working with me, I ended up staying and doing more shopping. Moving forward, I learned my lesson in not taking tags off until I am 100% sure I am keeping my purchases. I am grateful for her helpfulness!”
