“Short version is they do great quality, clean and detailed work with fair prices, a rare combination in this day and age! I highly recommend Checkered Automotive Solutions for any work and plan to return for a bumper installation.I purchased a full suspension package for my truck and didn’t have the time or location to do it myself. Accutune Offroad gave me several recommended shops but Checkered was able to work with my limited schedule to install the suspension and align my truck the same day. Additionally he was able to pickup my suspension parts from AO and also retorque everything the day after installing it.I will absolutely be returning to Checkered Automotive Solutions for any future work that I don’t have the time to do myself, and know it was done well!”
“Had a problem with my thermostat and took to Break Works on Main St around 1pm. They had the work done and my car was ready before 4pm. Service was awesome and the cost to fix was no where near as much as I thought it could be. Honestly I couldn't have been happier! “I am writing this review a year after having my transmission rebuilt, I have had no problems what so ever since then. Quick turnaround when I brought it in, only took 3 days. Was the best price after calling all the transmission shops within a 30 mile radius and the best warranty (1 year unlimited miles), I dropped off the car and paid a deposit, I came back the next day to pay the rest and they showed me the disassembled transmission while pointing out the problem areas that were going to be replaced with the rebuild. Raul was very accommodating and responsive with any questions/concerns i had.”

Could not be more grateful for such a helpful place, George Sam and the team worked relentlessly all day during our visit to find the best possible option of saving our van so we could make the 2000 mile trip home to Canada!
After a few issues with the van and a breakdown we took it to this garage by chance and it was the best decision we made, they were very informative, they worked really quickly and priced everything reasonably. They were honest with the prospects but still gave us great advice both as mechanics and as good people.
In the end after a long day of debating we decided enough had been done to try and rescue the van and we decided to take it home, low and behold it made the whole journey back without fault!
Could not recommend enough, it will be our garage of choice if we are in the area and should be for anyone who is passing through, honest, reliable and quick!

“The folks here are really nice, very knowledgeable, and have reasonable prices. They are a busy place for good reason because it's clear people keep coming back to them. They did everything I needed for my car: troubleshot an electronic emergency brake issue, replaced both rear brake pads and rotors, brake fluid service, and an oil change (I requested the last two after the repairs were done) all for $893, and within 24 hours. If you think that's over-paying you got another thing coming! 5 stars.”

“Just recently had a VW passat engine fixed, you will not find a more honest and reasonably priced mechanic in Chula Vista. Jr takes his time to explain the diagnosis procedure and lets you know the cost of repairs before moving forward. I have no problems refereeing friends and family to his shop which all have great things to say about his service and commitment to customer needs. Mechanics and lawyers get a bad wrap for being dishonest but when you find a good honest one stick with them for good results.”
