“Great learning environment, clean, and caring teachers. Children are very engaged and love their school. Each month has a theme: planets, bugs and spring, etc. They have language, math, and art every day. They have a nice outdoor play area. They incorporate science and building character. My son in TK loves his STEM class which is after TK class, topics change every 2 months: lego robotics, music with Prodigies, solar engineering, UCMAS math, etc. Its been great exposure and enrichment to things that we cant provide at home. My son in the 3 year old class also loves his teacher, and upcomming teachers as they have an open floor plan and all teachers love all the kids. They truly enjoy what they do. My 3 yo has learned cutting with scissors and write letters very well.”
“I found this as the only place in Modesto that will take your gently used clothing to give for free to those in need. I know I was in need before and it feels so great to be able to find a place that gives to our community. There is no shame to find used clothing or shelter for families. Be in God's grace that those who gave so you can have something was done in love. May God blanket all the staff, volunteers, donors and everyone who part took in giving. Make kids involved so they can see how blessed they are and the need for helping others without acknowledgment. ?? ? Example of things you can donate in pictures, but please donate nonstained, smelly, ripped clothing and try and wash them would be helpful. They are open after hours for drop-offs.”
“Redwoods helped me with so much came there with barley anything. I just had my son and right before my sons first birthday I was able to bring home my other son that was with my mom and dad. I volunteer for their Senior Lunch Program. 5 days a week, Monday through Friday lunch is served to Senior Citizens. The location? At the Salvation Army located on Lander Avenue. When? 10am to 12 Noon. Wholesome hot and cold lunches are served and the menu is created by a Dietician. In order to qualify one must be a minimum of 60 years of age. Hot coffee, iced tea, water and milk are available for consumption and sometimes juice. Cost? FREE :) United Samaritan is located on S. Broadway right off of Lander Avenue here in Turlock. Here they offer for those in need the opportunity to launder ones clothing/cloth items, free clothing from donations, morning service of a beverage and baked goods, take a shower and lastly there are 2 food trucks which service the local towns around Turlock as well as Patterson, CA now too. There is access to a restroom for those in need such as the homeless. For all that they do they are quite organized and always polite. “The store always has an interesting selection of furniture items and I'm a sucker for their book prices. It's also a good place for me to donate clothing and household items.”

700 McHenry Ave B, Modesto“I don’t know how we would’ve gotten through the last 2 1/2 years without Carlos and our entire community. I lost my mom to Alzheimer’s 3-18-23.Carlos is a wealth of knowledge. He devotes so much time to educating people on the devastating umbrella of dementia. He also trains healthcare providers on how to be the most effective with their memory care patients. The support you receive and give to others is priceless. We felt completely alone when we started this journey with Mom. My dear friend and her mom introduced me to this support group, I will be forever grateful.”

“We brought my dad home from the hospital on hospice with Community Hospice. Before dad was home, we had everything we needed to keep him comfortable. If we had a question or needed a nurse to come out, all we had to do is call the triage line any time day or night and they were always there for dad and my family. Dad went home to be with the Lord almost a month ago and even today, Community Hospice calls periodically to check in on us. The staff, nurses and clergy are exceptional. If you need hospice for a loved one, I highly recommend Community Hospice. God bless these folks for their care and compassion.”

“I went here for the first time and loved my visit! great prices and nice stuff. I also want to show recognition to a worker whose name i believe is Albert. He was super helpful and his vibe is awesome! Definitely will recommend this place to friends and family and will be returning in the near future because of how welcoming he was!”
“This organization is the best!!! I had just moved into a new apartment and had absolutely no furniture or kitchenware to put in it. They completely furnished my apartment. Thanks to those that donated and thanks to Brenda Lupomi from Advancing Vibrant Communities. She was extremely nice and extremely helpful. You are great!!”

1031 15th St, Modesto“If you are interested in government or politics & would like to understand how our Constitution was written based on Christian values, you will love this class. Mike Winther has immersed himself all his life in Biblical studies and politics. He makes the 2 hour class fly by. He is knowledgeable, articulate and funny. It is a 10 week commitment but don’t let that stop you. All of the classes are available for you from their website in case you have to miss one. They have a workbook which you can purchase for $20. I don’t think that is a requirement, however.”
“Medic Alert "speaks" for me when I can't. I have severe allergies to multiple medications, sometimes we find out the hard way when I go into shock! Every time this has happened, medic alert's trained responders have been there to guide EMS. Thank you for always being my voice!”

“Modesto Dial-a-Ride held an open forum meeting at Howard Training Center. The meeting was informative but, unfortunately, under attended. I am unsure of the root cause of the lack of attendance but maybe Dial-a-Ride should choose a different location to see if that helps.”
“I was admitted to memorial hospital and had a quadruple bypass surgery back in October 2021. First I would like to thank all of the health care workers in the ICU and CCU units. I could not have had better care.To my surgeon Dr. Fong, words can not appropriately express my feelings on how you gave me my life back.A special grateful thank you to the best “wingman”, a surgeon could haveDr. Jeff Brayshaw who’s after surgery care was so helpful in my recovery. God bless all of you.”

“Coming from living in the East Bay where there are way more thrift stores. There are like 4 Hospice Thrifts and this location is by far the best 1! I can tell that They take more effort in testing electronics, because I've never took home a broken 1 that I bought from them. Cant say the same for other Hospices Thrifts. They also remind you about the return policy of electronics! Overall a good thrift stores that packs a lot in to a smaller space. More importantly, the employees and the customer service is top notch here!!! Way better here than any thrift store or business in the entire Valley!”
