“Great customer service and very knowledgeable staff. I go here whenever I get a chance. They're very understanding of errors on the customers part. Many times, I buy something, go home, realize it doesn't fit and bring it back to get the right size or part and they let me do that!My dog loves this place too - she gets a treat every time!5 stars+”

“Ray, one of the staff members, is the BEST! So rare to find someone with his depth of experience in a retail hardware store, these days. He has helped me solve several quirky repair jobs. He always finds a solution and does it with enthusiasm and a smile! Thanks Ray!”

“Came in to brainstorm how to MacGuyver a fire pit cover for camping nearby. I felt like everyone in the store WANTED to help us figure it out. Props to the whole crew for taking care of us :)”

“Opposite of Home Depot! The moment you walk in, there is a person asking how to help. Wow!The people are friendly and helpful (not like other hardware stores where you have to look around for a long time to find someone for help). After the closure of Orchard and Sears in the area, this is one of the few smaller hardware stores still left. You can park right in front of it. They immediately open another register when there are more than 2 people in line. The only problem is finding parking!”

“Maybe the best customer service I've ever received. I was in a flood of decisions when I arrived and wound up having such a nice chat with Shannon, who helped solve all of my indecision!”

“Couldn't find anything I needed at Home Depot or anyone to help me. Realized San Lorenzo Lumber was right across the street so I ran over. My experience there was the opposite in every way. Friendly greeter at the door pointed me in the right directly. Knowledgeable sales person was there and led me to exactly what I needed. Next time I'll shop San Lorenzo first and skip Home Despot!”

He provided excellent service, follow through and was able to send a different part immediately after the lock mechanism was installed to replace a part that was not fitted properly. This company is highly skilled in caring about making customers happy, providing excellent service and great products.”

“I have been meaning to write a review for this Ace Hardware store for some time now so, here it is: 5 stars for an amazing paint department. The paint team is super helpful, well beyond any support you will receive from the Kelly Moore team in the same shopping center. In fact, I have quit buying Kelly Moore paint after many frustrating encounters there. Go to the the helpful paint store here at Ace; you will not be disappointed!! In addition, the rest of the store is stocked with a full selection of any other items you need for the kitchen, garden, garage, etc., also with friendly employees, ready to help you with anything you need.”

“We visited 10 building supply centers when we started looking for pavers for our driveway/walkway and patio. We were impressed with the personal attention and great advice we received from Central Home Supply, which was a great deal more than we got from the other shops. Reed took us around the yard and pointed out pavers he thought would suit our needs. He hit the nail on the head. When it came time to order, Reed gave us a much better price than the only other building supply house in the area that carries Techo Bloc pavers. In fact, the price had come down since our first visit due to lower transportation costs. When does that ever happen? And when does the building supply center pass it on?We were given a firm delivery date/time and sure enough, the pavers arrived right on time. The whole process of buying pavers from Central Home Supply has been stress-free and downright fun. Will definitely return when we have more projects.”

“These guys were so helpful, I was replacing the screening on my screen, and I had stripped one of the screws. I tried everything and just made it worse. I brought it here, and they fixed it up for me in no time. Very friendly.”

“Prompt, honest service! We had a part break on a very important machine at my place of employment. I ordered the replacement from a manufacturer back east somewhere. The part arrived unfinished as it is apparently a universal part and needed some modification to fit our machine. I took it into Doerksen this morning to see what they could do. Dan was not only willing and able to modify my part, but he was ALSO able to fix the old broken part. Our machine is back up and running today. Great service and I will be referring Doerksen Precision Products in the future!”

“Need a tool or a trailer? Go here. Location is excellent. Team is super efficient and always has time for my bonehead weekend warrior questions. Refreshing to find that the only shop in town doesn't act or treat customers like they're the only shop in town.”

“Central Home Supply on River Street in Santa Cruz, CA. has a hidden gem; "Carlos", the fork lift driver! For years, I have been trying to match a stepping stone that I originally purchased from Antolelli's Landscape over a decade ago. I had looked at Central Home Supply and Aptos Landscape several times, but was never able to match it. A landscaper recently told us it was called "High Desert Tumbled" and Central Home Supply had it in stock. When I arrived, I showed the front desk a photo of our yard with the stepping stones. I was told the "High Desert Tumbled" wasn't quite a match, but they showed me an image of their yard and pointed to where it was located. Of course, I ended up in the wrong area. Carlos saw me meandering and asked if he could help. I told him I was looking for the "High Desert Tumbled". He lead me to it, and then went about his business. When I realized the product wasn't what I wanted, I started wondering and looking at other products to find a match. Again, Carlos saw me and asked if he could help. I showed him the picture of the stepping stones and he pointed me right to "Big Tumbled Rustic Garden". HOORAY! A perfect match! He offered to load some for me, but I didn't have the right vehicle to carry it at that time. He also offered to tag some for me, but I knew I couldn't be back to pick it up for at least a week and they had plenty in stock. I'm happy that I've finally found a match for our stepping stones, but very thankful for Carlos' persistence in helping me find exactly what I want. He's a very friendly, helpful, and professional gentleman. If ever I need more landscape materials, I now know exactly who to seek. Thank you Carlos!”

“This is about the Soquel Home Depot. I was looking for a Milwaukee drill that was on sale. The internet was showing three in stock at that price. The problem was that Home Depot has all this inventor spread out in multiple locations so you cannot find anything. Two home depot representatives spent at least 30-45 minutes trying to help me find one of those drills. Sure enough they did and were successful. This is a five star review, thanks to those that helped me. As for the store, management needs to do better in indicating where store inventory is located. Add RFID tags if needed to pinpoint the location within the store so customers/employees don't have to waste 45 minutes looking.”

“Typical home depot. The store is always under staffed and frequently purchased items are often up on the shelves and not replaced where they can be reached. They don't provide some products that are common for each trade like you might find elsewhere and they continually switch product lines. That makes matching a previously purchased item difficult sometimes. Their prices can range from great to why the hell is this more expensive than a small hardware store. They do have some good deals from time to time. However, watch out for items they display in heavily. They may appear to be on sale, when in fact, they are the same price when found in their typical location. As with anywhere you have some quality, helpful people who know how to get things done. You also have those where you question their level of competence as they have no clue and work at a snail's pace. While returning items is fairly easy the line can often be long and slow moving. Theft has also slowed the purchase of higher priced products. I also find it lame when you finally find help only to have them say they don't work that department. They aren't helping anyone else and are unable to take 10sec to go up the ladder and grab your item. They act as if the world would stop if the guy from plumbing has to grab something electrical. I'm not talking about dragging them away from their department, this is while they are already walking down the same isle your part is on. That's more of a reflection of store policy and not necessarily the reluctance of an employee. Having said that, I'm sure if they were quick about it no one would in management would take issue. It's also frustrating when you know a product is not on a lower shelf but they insist on wasting more of your time looking for it when they could just grab it from a higher shelf and get you on your way. With prices constantly going up home depot seems to be a necessary evil in order to cut costs on some items.”

“I think Home Depot has a lot of of really good items for a great price. The online store is where to go to find anything you found somewhere else but usually at a lower price. I saw beautiful custom tile for my showers online in a boutique store from New York City. To my surprise the exact same tile I found on line at Home Depot for 15% less. I received it via home delivery within a week.”

“I go here a bunch but today I was there and I saw a empty fridge box that would be an awesome fort for my 5 year old. I was buying some other things and asked Michelle if I could have the box. She went the extra mile and held my baby girl while I checked out and helped me put it in my van. It's the small things that matter in life and being kind and stoking out a child she never meet meant a lot. Mahalo Michelle”

“Ron at the pro desk was instrumental in giving clarity, dimensions, and action items on doors and windows. This for those who don't know is for larger orders. Ron's over two decades of experience was very helpful. If only everyone was this helpful, fast, and courteous. Keep up the great work.”
