“My 1988 Ford 5-speed manual transmission vehicle was in need of its' shift linkage bushings being replaced. Several local auto repair shops were not interested in this work. Fortunately, I contacted A-1 transmission who could not do an upfront quote for the repair on an old car but took the car in and contacted me after they had a chance to look at it. Replaced the bushings in a day at a good price. I've driven it now for two months, about 1000 miles, shifts into gear like new. Recommend this shop for any work related to transmissions or shifting issues, as in my case. I plan to return again for my CV axle drive shaft replacement, so look for a new review on that experience.”

They helped us with miss-fires and coil problems, rattling noises, and of course transmission services. They helped us with all that and with full concern, care, and commitment. They even keep in touch following work they've done to make sure no further issues have popped up after. They want to make sure the customers are satisfied and content. “I brought my chevy in with a strange noise coming from front of the car and they had the diagnosis that day and could have fixed the next day but my schedule was the reason for the delay. I brought it in first thing on a Monday morning and they had it fixed by lunch. By replacing the control arms and bushings, no more noises and now car drives like a dream. “This team is the best. They were most willing to help me with an issue that was caused by another shop, and that too at a reasonable price. Despite the fact that they work on pretty fancy cars, there was no arrogance of any sort. The mechanic Nuvelle (I hope I am spelling the name correctly) and the shop manager Kelly were very thorough and patient, and fixed the issue quickly. All said and done, I was in and out in 30 min with a very reasonable charge.
This is in contrast to another local shop in Brentwood (that I will not name) which gave me a hard time after they heard that I was requesting them to take a look at the work done by another shop (and therefore likely they were not going to have a big bill for me). They wanted me to leave the car and charge me $200 just to diagnose. In contrast, after listening to my story and witnessing the anguish, AIS took my car in right away. Very empathetic and truly a torch-bearer of the small community culture in Brentwood, in addition to being a very capable shop. Thank You!”
