“Their Berkeley location has closed permanently. Their Walnut Creek store has apparently 6000 feet of showroom space and I'd love to check it out if I'm ever out that way”
“When I came across this store it was as if the clouds had parted to let the sun shine down on me. Yeah I’m exaggerating but it’s a cool store and the dude who runs it seems laxed. But when he asks you “how much do you think it’s worth?” I recommend quoting some outrageous price and wait for his counter offer. I mean it’s negotiating 101. But when you’re desperate for money, you’ll just be happy if somebody is willing to pay you anything. A mistake I shan’t make again. Yes I do recommend this spot for every hipster rocking a man purse and a cardigan and a SnapBack. Oh my god I just described myself. Bummer?”
“I have been coming to Radbird for several years. I can always find stylish designer pieces although they tend to be on the pricier side of preowned clothing. Their prices seem to always land somewhere between $200-$400. The fine jewelry collection is gorgeous. The ladies who work there are always kind but the fitting rooms could use some full length mirrors.”
“Had a haircut/color consultation and later a full color with Nora and they were fantastic! Nora really listened to what I wanted and helped me figure out an awesome dye job when I couldn't make up my mind. I loved getting my hair done there!”
“This little shop is badass. Dude is super nice too. Very unique collection and his prices are decent. He is somewhat flexible when haggling with you. The only thing negative I can say about this place is that the music played in the store is often times way too loud. It can be difficult to hear someone standing right next to you. The best thing about this place is his antique jewelry. I purchased some stunning pieces for my daughter's senior prom and they were absolutely perfect.”
“I've found some really cool stuff here, including professional blazers, a one-of-a-kind dress, and an REI jacket. No fitting rooms, but that's unfortunately pretty standard for thrift stores these days.”
“The owner is a very kind, thoughtful person. I think that some consignments shops have not done well during these last 2.5-3 years, in the response to tightening of the belt. The demographic in this part of the Bay Area has been downsizing, so there may be some bargains to be had. Stop and take a look, you may be pleasantly surprised.”
“I miss here so bad.i grew up here.back in the 80s.my name.is jericho.i used to hustle enough money setting up stands and selling books from my landlord who gave my mom books a lot.and selling at a half stall to get enough to go to the california theater off shattuck in Berkeley where this young dude would let me in for free as long as I enough money for the ticket prices then awesome for popcirn and drinks lol.i got to see all the cool 80s movies in the theater then not even a teenager yet lol. The best cheeseburgers were from a big truck that made them at this fleamarket back then and the best pizza then fat slice.on telegraph.great time to be alive.”
“Stellar place, great people, awesome help and support, really cool and tasteful selection of products, I am very happy with my purchase. They even went the extra mile to make sure I got the unwrapped model from the back of the storage vs the floor model! Couldn't be happier with the existence of this place, nothing like seeing furniture in-person!”
“Have some items to look into selling @ Crossroads. Looked into listing on PoshMark and sending off to ThredUp for them to list but it's better on the environment to go through Crossroads because it saves on shipping each item to each buyer. The display on the mannequins is always very cheerful when you walk by on Shattuck. It's near the Central Library.”
“cute and well-curated vintage store on telegraph. lots of variety and it's all well-sorted. there's a good selection of 1940s-90s vintage pieces, formal and prom dresses, and designer clothes. most of the store is organized by brand, but there are a few racks specifically for lingerie, indie sleaze, goth, hippie, and clothing-types. there are also a lot of cute shoes, bags, and jewelry.
you have to check your bag in at the front desk and you can't walk around with food or drink--you have to leave your snacks at the front door, so i recommend finishing what you're eating before you go or eating after.
also, they have a few changing rooms in the back which are nice & have good mirrors.
the prices are pretty reasonable for a higher end vintage store. it's generally a range of $8-16 per piece for basic clothes and then goes up to probably $80 max for certain designer or formal clothes.
there's also a men's anastasia's nextdoor.”
“Pretty penny is my favorite! Every visit I find an incredible selection of clothes, jewelry and accessories at totally fair prices. The owner, Sarah, is always friendly and helpful.”
