“Have only spoke on phone so can only say the woman I talked with was very nice and answered my questions. Waiting on prescription and will update as to shipping time and quality etc. But for now they seemed nice and professional.
Update : received first prescription and was somewhat upset due to minimum cost and barely getting much medication, but im pretty sure they sent mine overnight and they did not mention it. So maybe they did this just to be nice after paying the minimum cost. Was appreciated big time and they did this without any complaints or asking by me. Just placed next refill this past Friday and received email saying will be updated on when is shipped (monday today). Will update as to consistency and relative results with medication relative to other compounding pharmacies used, and regular shipping times once received. But so far seem to be a very professional and helpful business.”
“I was printing passport photos at this Walgreens store. The staff Alessi helped me a lot! She double-checked everything for me and printed the passport photos. She is very professional and knows all the detailed processes. I am grateful for her professional work!”
“Loved this place, but as of yesterday, another closure of a small pharmacy. Really sad that all we're left with is the poor service of CVS and Walgreens and their endless lines.”

“got a Covid vaccine at the Safeway Pharmacy in early October and I was really pleased. I made an appointment; the front desk checked my information, and I got my Covid vaccine on time from Navjot, who was really nice and did a great job. Thank you!”
“I never leave a review but I felt like this pharmacy’s exceptional service and environment has to be expressed in anyway possible. I had a great experience during my externship at this pharmacy. The pharmacy manager Joel is an amazing pharmacist who would always go above and beyond to help customers. The stuff in general are so great. I have witnessed the best customer service and readiness to make every customer’s experience better. Highly recommended pharmacy.”
“The whole experience was great, Karina M was helpful , knowledgeable and had a smile. I found exactly what I was looking for, thank you CVS for the great customer service and I will be coming back.”

“People have been giving this location terrible reviews so I thought I'd balance it out with a few thoughts. My original pharmacy was the Walgreens at 51st and Telegraph. But with the rampant car break-ins, a couple of armed robberies, and armed carjackings at that location, I refused to go there. So I switched to the Walgreens on Gilman in Berkeley. On a few visits (spaced months apart) the storefront was boarded up because someone rammed a car through the front doors to steal their ATM machine. But I kept going there until prescriptions started being delayed due to lack of pharmacists. Their phone recording stated that they weren't sure if/when the pharmacists would return. It wasn't just for a day or two, it was weeks. So I was forced to switch pharmacies once again. I have no idea if they even have pharmacists at that location anymore, to this day. Thankfully, I found the Adeline location, and they regularly have pharmacists. Yes, you always have to wait on line for 20-45 min, which sucks. The hours are short because, apparently, the pharmacists' union declared that there always needs to be a minimum number of pharmacists on duty because they've been held up at gunpoint too many times, and the minimum number is to assure their safety and peace of mind. We should not begrudge them that, it is not their fault. Why they can't hire more pharmacists is a bigger area-wide, societal question.Despite the long lines, every time I've spoken to a pharmacist in person or on the phone, they've all, always, been extremely patient, courteous, and thoughtfully answer all my questions. Which is kind of remarkable given how busy they are.Sure, people can write bad reviews. But I hope you'll all take a look at what's going on with all the pharmacies in the area before you bash this one. It's the best of what's left and I, for one, am grateful they're still hanging in there.”

“I hesitate to share how great these guys are as they may get overwhelmed by customers fleeing other pharmacies. But in fairness, these folks answer the phone and work with you to resolve problems like getting approval and arranging for delivery. I'm so grateful.”

“I was looking for a Passport photo in a rush, this past Sunday, and the CVS Store at 1451 Shattuck Ave in Berkeley was the only one in Oakland and Berkeley that had working equipment. Not only that, the employee who worked with me, Praveen, was professional, courteous and willing to answer all my questions. I would recommend the store and him if you want professional photos taken.”
“They did not process my western union amazon order. i had to call many times to amazon and western union to figure out it was walgreens who did not process the order. So i called walgreens to let them know. The manager says we don't have western union to pay amazon, yet i did it at the computer near the pharmacy. Pay bill, amazon, enter code, etc...got a receipt and western union code from walgreens for it. what kind of place is this? shut it down.”

“I am Type one diabetic and this Walgreens Pharmacy is my absolute favorite! They have consistently gone above and beyond to fulfill my medical needs. Recently, I went out of town for a month and they were super attentive and effective at making sure I had all of my prescriptions filled. They are easy to get a hold of on the phone. They also have the shortest lines out of any of the Walgreens I have visited in Oakland / Berkeley. Thank you very much to the Walgreens Gilman Pharmacy team.”

“I see a lot of bad reviews at this location but I’ve always been met with great help in person or on the phone with the staff here. I also understand that I am 1 of many people that they serve each day and try to have patience and empathy for the small staff here.”

“Joel Leu, pharmacy manager during the week, is super-competent. He worked with me and my doc to get a vaccination authorized. It was an unusual situation, requiring finesse and patience. So grateful for him and the CVS team.”
