“My husband and I stayed here while travelling through Santa Cruz by motorcycle. This location was charming, clean, comfortable, and had fantastic service (the staff were amazing/helpful). It's approximately one city block from the beach - ideal! The hotel provided beach towels & bicycles for us. Every day, we enjoyed a delicious and nutritious breakfast. On days when we returned to the hotel by 4 pm, there was a fantastic happy hour with snacks and beverages! Parking was never a problem; we always had a spot in the lot (we were on a motorcycle). We loved our time here and look forward to staying again!”

“I’m leaving this because I don’t think there are any reviews from Koreans!
The room is clean and nice. However, it's a bit narrow...haha (this is my personal opinion) But overall, it's good. But the noise between floors is too loud. I don't wake up often once I fall asleep, so I was fine when I was sleeping, but it was so noisy while I was awake that it was annoying.
Still, the lobby staff was friendly and asked for recommendations for nearby restaurants, so I wrote them down myself. I went to one of the three recommended restaurants and was very satisfied.
Breakfast was really bad.. This is also Korean standards! I miss the breakfasts I had at European hotels. There was no salad, just bread, eggs, ham, and cereal. How on earth do you live by eating only these things?!!
But we don't eat it every day, we just eat it briefly when we travel, right? Overall, I think it was a good hotel haha.
* The recommended restaurant is Vietnamese restaurant Pho Kitchen & Boba Tea. I enjoyed the spices well and it was delicious. I wish it was there in Korea too..”
“Great hotel for the price, loved that it’s a little tucked away and not in central Santa Cruz. The things I didn’t like was that the room keys kept not working (new employee I think) and that the shower head had a weird spray and wasn’t able to adjust. It made taking a shower less than comfortable and that’s not what you pay to stay at a hotel for. Change the shower heads and this is a 5 star review!”

“The Monarch Cove is set on a cliff in Capitola with an ocean view of the Pacific Ocean. We stayed in the Monarch Grove, a romantic getaway within 3 miles from the Shadowbrook, so you can take advantage of their free taxi service and get picked up in an old school Shadowbrook cab. I highly recommend this for a weekend getaway!”

“My family has been staying at Carousel Bean Inn for over 15 years, we love coming here. It may be a “two star” hotel, but in my opinion the renovated rooms, location, service, free parking, and complimentary breakfast make it a three star experience! The rooms are beautiful, and spacious enough for us to fit the pack n play for our 6 month old baby. The fridge with a freezer compartment was awesome for storing ice from the ice machine, and the microwave made heating baby food convenient. They also have an AC unit which is essential for hot nights with a kid! The king bed was super comfortable and soft. Being right across the street from the beach and boardwalk makes things a breeze. We were running behind in the morning with the baby, and the staff were gracious enough to allow us a late checkout. Super friendly front desk staff upon check-in as well! Not to mention the breakfast was amazing. Fanciest waffle I’ve ever had at a hotel breakfast. They had an ample selection of breakfast foods to fill up even big eaters, and we loved the HUGE fuji apples they had (most places usually have red delicious apples, which let’s face it, are never good). We will be staying here every time we come to the boardwalk with the family. :)”

“Arrived yesterday afternoon and there was a mix up with our ADA room. Naomi at the front desk was on it immediately. She upgraded us to an ADA suite. We had to wait for it to be cleaned, so she offered us complimentary drinks while we waited. We have stayed here several times and this was the first time we have had any issues. Naomi took care of it quickly and apologized repeatedly for the mix up.Great to see customer service still exists!”

“We love the Hamilton inns that we've gone to. This specific one had a really friendly man working the front desk when we checked in at night who was back in the morning and was happy to give advice on places to eat (they even provided a sheet full of recommended restaurants with some highlighted). Breakfast was the usual standard good options and a diabetic who needs to watch her carbs, I love that I can get full without needing extra insulin as they had egg and sausage but my son and husband loved the waffles :)”
“Wir hatten wirklich eine gute Zeit in diesem Motel. Der Standort ist fantastisch (man sieht das Meer!) und geht nur 2 Minuten direkt zum Strand. Das Zimmer war klein aber sauber und hatte gute Betten. Die Besitzerin war absolut cool und freundlich und hat uns sogar 1x bei einer etwas merkwürdigen Situation verteidigt. Jederzeit wieder!”

“At minimum, the hotel deserves 3 stars as it hits all the basic expectations I have of a hotel: the water pressure was comfortable & hot. In addition, the bed was comfortable, the room was reasonably sized, not carpeted with a good set of black out curtains. In other words, this hotel did not disappoint.
It gets a 4 for all the other perks: free parking is the highest for me. Its literally across the street from Marianne's and a decent dispensary. They're also dog friendly and charge a reasonable 30$ per night fee. There are cameras in major locations.”

They surprised him with a delicious cake and a festive balloon, which truly touched our hearts. Their thoughtfulness and attention to detail made his birthday extra special, and we'll always remember their kindness.
Throughout our week-long stay, the service remained consistently excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and always willing to assist with any request we had.

“This hotel was built by my family (A. Castro) and I have always wanted to see it. I have called a few times but no one answers. I have only been able to visit the outside of the building because the hotel has been closed every time I try to see it. I truly hope it does get restored, but sounds like that’s going to require a lot of time and money. Grants, perhaps? ?I would love to chat with the current owners sometime!”
