“Beautiful and relaxed setting. I’ve been here on multiple occasions for weddings and I always have a good time. I’m not a member of this club, but will eat here with a friend. Tennis courts and pool is nice.”

“Best beers in Monrovia! Looks small when you first walk in, but it has a huge outdoor space in the back! Seems like they frequently host bands, food vendors, and pop ups. Definitely try their Mexican Lager and Icelandic White Ale! Great vibes, bartenders are very nice and knowledgeable too!”

“We just had our wedding at the Castle and it was PERFECT. Tatiana is the absolute best - kind, thoughtful and quick to answer an email! I had my heart SET on a different venue, but after touring the Castle and meeting Tatiana, my fiancee and I both knew it was the right choice for us. Our guests were so impressed and had the best time. It's also in a great location for out of town guests. There are several hotels in Old Pasadena and it's a fun area for friends and family to enjoy. Oh also the day of event staff was amazing and thoughtful as well. It's been such a joy working with everyone at the Castle and our wedding was such a beautiful good time. It's really the perfect venue!”

“We celebrated the new year luncheon here. You need to make a reservation first cause they have lots of customers. Their flavors of dishes here are all awesome. It's an authentic Cantonese cuisine. The special bun is astonishing. It has shrimp, chicken and vegetables in it and filled with the soup. Tasted great. The seafoods here are very fresh. We ordered the gold lobster, fried squid and cashew nut shrimps. All of these tasted great. The services here are friendly and warm. They will help you to counter help. And the atmosphere here was nice. Though is not a big restaurant. But full with feeling of hometown. Recommended. It is an independent store that has been operating for more than 40 years. It tastes really good and it is authentic Cantonese cuisine. Every time All the dishes are exquisite and attentive. I like the pomegranate buns they ordered. They have shrimp, vegetables, chicken and full of soup. The skin of the duck with taro paste is crispy and very tasty. The skin of the glutinous rice chicken roll is also very chewy. I have eaten here before. The most authentic taste, the golden lobster is quite big and can only feed 11 people. It is delicious with salted egg yolk and the meat is plump. The fried squid is very crispy and the meat is very tender. Even the stir-fried soybean sprouts are very delicious after inhaling the chicken broth. eatThe overall taste is really first-class, the price is moderate, and the service is very attentive and will always help change the plates. Business is very good. It is recommended to make an appointment in advance. The overall experience is great. Highly recommended.”

“I absolutely recommend the Maxwell house as a wedding venue! The architecture of this historical mansion is so beautiful, It gave our wedding a more unique feel than your typical hall. From the ornate ceilings, beautiful grand staircase to the fine art hung up on every wall - it was everything we imagined for our day! Cindy was so kind and responsive, the whole staff was amazing! Thank you Maxwell House.”

“Wow! Just a lot of emotions right off the bat, and they mentioned a long moustache in like the first 5 minute so I felt personally vested in the show at that point. Definitely a much more personal and engaging venue than I've ever experienced and I totally loved that; quite unexpectedly. I wish I could have shaken each and every one of their hands.”

“Beautiful setting; cabanas and palms and lights on the patio. Free parking in the lot across the street. The hands down best damn pizza (Ozzy's Apizza) in LA. Crispy crust, tomatoey, not pastey sauce and fantastic thick pepperoni. Sausage with a kick. Other pizzas I leave the crust but Ozzy's is maybe the best part. Cocktails are on point.”

“Purchasing the membership to the Athenaeum was my first ever experience with exclusive clubs similar to this, and my experience at the Ath was pleasantly surprising. The value of the membership is really worth it (with great value prices on gourmet food, access to events, and reciprocal benefits at clubs such as the Harvard Club in Boston), and the food at the Athenaeum is absolutely excellent. My favorite perks would have to be the monthly events they hold, such as the Father's Day Event and the AYCE Prime Rib Buffets. They have a wide variety of food at buffets and all of it is incredibly fresh, well-prepared, and thoughtful. They have something for everyone and it is perfect for large parties or for meet-ups with friends and family. The service is top notch and it is an incredible experience all-around! The first event we attended was the Father's Day Event, which had varieties of steak, corn on the cob, dessert, popcorn and more. The environment is perfect for treating your friends, co-workers, or family to a nice meal. Each event has different varieties of food, and we even got to sample things like crab legs, sushi, ube ice cream and more.”

“We absolutely loved our stay at Bissell House! We were looking for something more charming than a big-box hotel, and Airbnbs have become too much work quite frankly with all of the “rules” that come with them. Bissell House was absolutely perfect – the owners put so much care and thought into the place. I couldn’t stop taking pictures and videos – the whole place was decorated to perfection and made you feel like you were right at home. The complementary breakfast was also incredible! We had a yogurt parfait and French toast. The service was incredible – we didn’t have to lift a finger.I highly recommend Bissell House. It is well worth the price (which honestly wasn’t bad and is comparable to what hotels are today with all of their added fees). I hope anyone who stays there has as magical a time as we did.”

“I came here to view the current Feminist Art Project exhibit. The space is beautiful and the person working at the gallery was welcoming, informative, and helpful. The exhibit was inspiring and wonderfully curated. I loved all the books and archival material. Parking on a Saturday was $10 and easy. A coffee cart was open near the gallery and several food trucks were close by at the Broad Museum.”

“I've organized two 300+ people plus parties at this venue with LCFCC and would return without a doubt. The coordinator, Joy, and her staff were professional, experienced, considerate, and invested in helping make sure our event was successful and our guests had a great time. 5 stars for the entire staff. The venue itself has a naturally amazing view, day or night, which reduces the need for heavy decoration. On-site parking was ample and close. The view is also amazing from the lot. Venue has multiple rooms to choose from, we booked the entire space and was able to create activities specific to each. We selected the classical buffet amd various passed appetizers, overall the taste and quality was great. I had no complaints from the guests, all complements. Salmon is challenging to prep for large groups, and they've delivered consistently. Bar was well-stocked and bartenders were solid. Venue can provide all your standard party material and some AV. We had our own vendors for some activities, which was straightforward to arrange with the coordinator. Price was reasonable considering the included amenities onsite. Joy, the coordinator, and the team leads were onsite and actively monitoring all night to ensure a smooth event flow.”

“A very charming rental venue that we reserved for an evening to host a dinner for about 70 of our friends. our contact was Stella, who was professional and informative. our caterer and myself loved the kitchen-- it was spacious, great counter space and a great stove to heat food. also spacious fridge. Bathrooms and the whole venue was clean. There are multiple sets of french doors throughout the main room, which helps to circulate fresh air. we didn't have to rent tables and tablecloths from an outside vendor as you can rent them from the lodge. our guests loved the location. we plan on leasing it again. great for wedding, reception, party, or a dinner.”

“We were at Nick + Stef's for happy hour before heading to a performance at Ahmanson's, a 10 min walk from the theater. (Could have parked in the Wells Fargo building with validation, but chose to park at Ahmanson's and walk.) Great ambience and service. We had the Grilled Hangar Steak with Chimchurri sauce, Maitake Mushroom tempura, Shishito peppers and Deviled Eggs. The Steak was quite good, but Maitake Mushroom tempura was the best and we ordered more of that. Shishito peppers didn't appeal much. No surprises with the deviled eggs. Cocktails - Border Rose & Hope Street Margarita - were well balanced and whetted the appetite. Was it worth $150 for 3? Until recently, I'd have thought it a bit excessive for a happy hour, but considering the location, reputation, and the pleasant experience, I think it was fair value for the money. Would I return? Not very likely considering that there are many upscale bars & restaurants in the neighborhood to check out, but I am quite tempted to return for the Maitake Mushroom tempura.Vegetarian options: Maitake Mushroom tempura was quite delectable.”

“The atmosphere is very welcoming and warm. The service is amazing. The different variety of meat, and also the choice of how you want your meat to be cooked, is excellent. I recommend the filet mignon, rib eye, and the pineapple which were my favorite. I went to the salad bar and grabbed different cheeses, sauces, greens, and chilies to complement every bite with a unique taste when variating different sides together. I enjoyed my time here. The all-you-can-eat is a must for first-timers.”

“We came here for the Halloween 45 Years of Terror Convention. Very cool place and very big. The space is very clean and they have plenty of clean bathrooms. Multiple entrances into the convention center. There are parking decks all around the center. The panel room was very nice and hosted the afterhours party. I believe they always host this event and I hope they do it again at H50.”

“This is a great local ballroom studio for people wanting to learn all types of ballroom dance. The dance floor is huge with plenty of room for multiple lessons going on at the same time. There are some afternoons or evenings that have social dance hour, so you might want to find out when those events are... whether you want to attend at those times, or you want to avoid scheduling a lesson during those times, Lol.Many years ago we had a bad experience when out of the blue, the management decided they did not want children dancers in the studio. My son was training in ballroom in preparation for a competition. His partner was actually the professional ballroom teacher's daughter. But we were forced to go to another studio to dance. Needless to say, that was not a good experience. However, I understand that management has changed, and now, under the direction Brenda, it has a much friendlier atmosphere and routinely there will be young students training there as well. Definitely this is a training ground for a future professional competitors, as well as a great place if you want to be motivated or inspired by seeing what others can do, as well as take their group lessons.”

“My company held 4 days of meetings here recently. It was a great space; we loved the flexible layout with lots of different spaces. The staff was welcoming and helpful. It’s hard to find meeting space for a group that has natural light, comfortable work space, and location walkable to everything, so I’m glad we found this space.”
