“This thrift store is well stocked and it's hard to move around at times but I absolutely love the ladies who work here. They know the store is full so they make sure they're moving the items by having more discounts. I definitely recommend this shop instead of going to Goodwill. Check it out and you won't be disappointed.”
“Came in with and older watch that needed a battery. He opened it up and showed me the corrosion from the dead battery. I thought terrible and could be a loss. Eric was kind enough to give it a cleaning and make some adjustments. In the end I have my watch back and couldn't be happier. His prices are still the best in town. He also has lots of art pieces and other oddity clocks which is very cool to see. He showed me a 100 year old clock that was carved to look like a terrier with the eyes moving for hours and minutes. Come to this place and find cool things you didn't know you needed or get a watch repaired, Eric has you covered.”
“This is a staple antiques store in Monterey Park. We've purchased pieces here throughout the years. Selection is great. The service is great. Looove throughout the years the owner has his dog to keep him and the customers company.”
“I brought a watch that was "not fixable".. but Mr. Galvin proved them wrong. He was courteous, knowledgeable and fixed a watch that was very meaningful to me. I highly recommend this shop time and time again (see what i did there) blessings to you! The Giant of Ecuador”
“Galerie Sommerlath is a unique source of tasteful art and furniture in Los Angeles. The collection has a great point of view and we love the pieces that we bought. I was happy to spend my money there as the owner is a lovely person. Thank you!”

140 W Valley Blvd, San Gabriel“I inherited a diamond ring from my grandmother and wanted to get it appraised. So happy I found Mr. David as was looking for someone in SGV that is GIA certified. He is located in a very unassuming spot in San Gabriel Plaza and I was able to find him by taking the elevator to the third floor and looking for his booth number. He was very professional and personable, and walked my Mom and and I through exactly what he was doing. Whole process took probably 15-20 minutes and I was off with my appraisal certificate! His prices are very reasonable and he is very genuine and honest. Would recommend!”
“This is a must-visit for vintage lovers. So many treasures of all kinds in excellent condition and a truly lovely staff person who really knows her stuff! It's a small shop but i could easily spend over an hour looking around.”
“I recently purchased a console table here and cannot say enough good things about the owner Deepali and her store. Deepali was very helpful and accommodated us by storing the item until we could pick it up. The store is filled with gorgeous one of a kind heirloom quality pieces that you can’t get elsewhere. I highly recommend paying them a visit if you’re in the market for furniture items or decor.”
“Service was excellent. Owner and his assistant were very helpful in educating us on various gold pieces, bracelets, pendants and necklaces. Also provided us with estimated value of some long-held jewelry pieces we brought in. I remember coming to this jewelry store when I was a young child with my parents, shopping for jewelry.”
“This antique furniture store is a hidden gem for lovers of mid-century modern design. Their collection predominantly features stunning mid-century pieces, making it a haven for those seeking that classic and timeless style. It's clear that they have a passion for preserving and showcasing these treasures from the past. If you appreciate mid-century modern aesthetics and high-quality antique furniture, this store is definitely worth a visit.”
“Got a good education on my Chinese furniture. They had a lot of interesting prices. The owner is a Gem! Knowledgeable and helpful. I love that it's a family owned business. Go check it out if you are into Chinese antiques. And the dog is friendly too.”

1836 E Walnut St, Pasadena“I’ve been here a few times and they always have a really interesting mix of antiques. Mostly smaller things but they do have some furniture. But last time I went in looking for something beautiful to store my cats food in. I bought this beautiful glass cookie jar and because I was unsure it would be large enough she gave me a week to bring it back just in case. It ended up working out but I really appreciated the above and beyond customer service.”
“The boss and his wife are awesome! kind! There are many antiques, objects, and bracelets! Family members who like antique bracelets should not miss this opportunity, family members, come on!”

1018 Mission St # 2, South Pasadena“A marvelous Old School Japanese Antique shop with a friendly, chatty, knowledgeable owner (Lisa) who runs it now that the former co-owner and her mother, Yoko, has passed away. Yelp has this biz erroneously listed as "Closed." Lisa asked me to ask Yelp to correct this error (she is not computer savvy). She wears a mask and keeps social distance while telling lively, entertaining stories and overseeing the mass of jewelry, vintage kimono fabrics, Japanese books & DVDS, miniature dolls, and gorgeous carved pieces (like the intricate box of drawers that I watched a customer purchase). Prices run from a couple dollars on up. I bought a couple lovely pins for $8 each. (See photo) And plan to return to buy more of these one-of-a-kind treasures. Twenty-five years ago, I commissioned Yoko to make me a "noren" (Japaese door curtains). She let me pick the fabric, and made it for me. It was on the recommendation of Amy at Ai Restaurant, who had several beautiful noren by Yoko. Now, more than ever, this lovely shop could use some attention. Here's my contribution and prayer that yelp show that it is STILL OPEN!”

From the moment you walk in, you'll be transported to a bygone era of grandeur and beauty, thanks to the store's incredible collection of historically significant pieces from mansions and hidden resources around the country. But what really sets this store apart is the owner, Marie. Not only is she a treasure trove of historical information, but she's also a saucy Canadian who is as sexy as she is knowledgeable. Her passion for Spanish revival design is contagious, and she's always eager to share stories about the pieces in her collection, their provenance, and the period in which they were created. What's more, Marie and her team are in great demand by the movie industry, thanks to their ability to provide authentic relics that create realism and authenticity on the big screen. So if you're a fan of classic Hollywood movies or just want to add a touch of movie magic to your home, this store is the perfect place to start. But what really makes this store stand out is its prices. Despite the incredible historical significance and beauty of the pieces in the collection, they are extremely reasonable. And if you're looking to design a room or an entire incredible house in the Spanish revival style, Marie is a genius at helping to pick the perfect item to complete the look. The lighting options are tremendous. There are often truly unique architectural pieces from the richly appointed mansions of Beverly Hills, Pasadena, Bel Air and Hollywood. In short, this antique store is an absolute gem for anyone who loves Spanish revival architecture and design. And with Marie at the helm, you're sure to leave with not just a beautiful piece of history, but also a wealth of knowledge and inspiration. This is an amazing resource for authentic Spanish Revival antiques.”

They’re very kind and they have a wonderful assortment of treasures that have gone well with my house. They also have Gorgeous old tiles, meticulously removed and stunning Colors”
“What a fascinating place. Nostalgia overload with a wide ranging selection of items including comics, art, jewelry, and so many random collectible pieces. Defining worth a visit and I suggest carving out a couple hours to really enjoy everything they have to offer. Prices are a bit high on some things, but you will find many difficult to find collectibles.”
“My fiancé and I came here a couple of times this week and it didn't disappoint either time. The first time we stopped in, we found a bunch of antique bottles we plan to use as wedding decor for a really great deal! Several vendors had sales going on when we stopped in, so that was a lucky find. The staff and vendors greeted us and made sure we knew they were available if we needed any help. They were all very kind and friendly. One guy was so helpful getting the bottles off a high shelf for us and packing them up. And then the woman who checked us out was so sweet as well! We came back today because I had an appointment to try on wedding dresses at one of the booths, Cream & Ivory. Let me tell you, I have scoured the internet for vintage wedding dresses, and I was very impressed with the selection here. I would have been happy with several of the dresses I tried on to be honest, but I did find the perfect one I was looking for! Morgan, the owner of this booth, was so kind, patient, and helpful with getting me in and out of some of the dresses. (FYI: there's a little dressing area with a curtain in the corner to change, but you'll need to make an appointment with Morgan to try on the dresses, as some can be understandably delicate and she can help you carefully change into them.) As someone that feels uncomfortable and out of place in a traditional bridal shop, it was a lot of fun to try stuff on here and felt very relaxed and chill. Morgan is really cool and easy to talk to. She also gave me helpful and honest feedback and wasn't pushy or pressuring in any way, quite the opposite actually. The prices are beyond reasonable, which is so refreshing both in this economy and in the wedding industry. I love that it's important to Morgan to keep some cool vintage wedding gowns accessible in a city like LA. I'm in love with the dress I went home with today and really enjoyed my whole experience! Thank you Morgan, wishing you lots of success with your shop!”
“I've been going to this spot to thrift for years and I gotta say that even when i don't find what I'm looking for originally, I still end up finding something I wasn't looking for at a good bargain and just as cool. You get to know the owners for a while little by little, their respect and service keeps getting exceptional. If you know how to thrift, you know there are successes and misses, but Son of a Vet is still a fun place to find whatever attracts your interest and amusement.”
“Freddy has an insane collection of unique finds from Mexico and all over really. One day I'm going to be rich, come in and buy all the handcrafted beadwork. Oh my god is it gorgeous!Seriously, go here if you want to ship local, and come out with something beautiful.”
