Love's Travel Stops Brings Games to Work

Love's Travel Stops is rolling out a new system that turns work into a game for its restaurant employees.

Picture this: Three big screens in each restaurant, tracking how fast workers greet customers, take orders, and hand out food. It's not just for show - early results say it's making service 11 seconds faster on average.

"These monitors track key performance metrics in real-time, such as greet times, order processing times and the time it takes for food handoff," Love's explains. The system creates a more interactive environment, fostering friendly competition between stores.

Carl's Jr. restaurant manager Tanda Hopper is enthusiastic about the change. "The gamification software helps us meet brand standards and contributes to our speed of service," she says. "It engages my employees and creates healthy competition between our store and others—we're always trying to get the top rank."

Joe Cotton, VP of food service for Love's, is excited about the change. "Our investment in gamification technology is transforming the way Love's restaurants operate," he said. "By incorporating cutting-edge technology, we can better engage our team members while optimizing the customer experience."

Love's isn't playing around with this investment. They're putting over $2 million into the system over the next five years. Every new store will come equipped with the game-like tech.

For a company with more than 640 locations across 42 states, that's a big bet on making work more fun - and getting travelers back on the road faster.
