“My AC went out. I went to a local mechanic and he was way way overpriced. I thought it didn't seem right. I called the first Brakes Plus I saw on the internet. I spoke with Eddie , the Manager. He was extremely helpful and assured me if I brought in my car there would be no charge to look at it. I already paid $135 to the other mechanic and he wanted $2500, for a AC compressor. He was so friendly and reassuring I decided to head down there. He followed through checked the car and verified it was the compressor. He charged less then half of what the other guy did. He went above and beyond to get the work done asap. This is definitely going to be my go to place. I live 25 mins away , I think it's worth the drive ;)”

“This is a special top notch shop. Family owned and very knowledgeable people. We have been going here for 2 years + now. They treat their customers with respect and in a timely manner. They are not ones to add on unnecessary charges. They are honest with us, which is a big plus. They know all types of vehicles and check the recommended updates or services needed at the milage mark. It's the customers decision. Christina, the one who runs the front office, is very helpful and friendly. She knows her stuff. ??
They are a very busy shop, but gives you a personalized touch. Waiting room is kind of quite and relaxing. With an array of indoor plants they tend to. We usually drop our vehicles early in the day, so they can work on them whenever convenient for them. I don't think anyone will be disappointed in their services.”

He made my car run great.Drove it out of town. My daughter own 1998 Nissan Altima. Mike was honest. Said this car not fixable. By the time you fix this all the money you put into it. You can get a brand new car better.
Trust me Mike a good mechanic. I wouldn’t trust anyone but him. I would refer him anyone has car problems.

“I like to support family owned businesses. They are the foundation of our country. For that reason, and because Thunderbird has an excellent online profile and reviews, I chose Thunderbird Auto. I try to be a loyal customer. Mr. Francisco told me after my first visit that I was "family". I believed him. Every time I've been in, I've felt that I received quality work at a fair price and honest evaluations. I've lived in Surprise for 3 years, and when I've needed mechanic work I've brought my cars to Mr Francisco. I've also referred friends here, and they have brought their vehicles here.

Mr. Francisco's son typically writes up the orders. He is not overly friendly, but ok, I can live with that. Last summer I had my car in and the repair was going to take 3 hours. There is no place to wait except outside, even when the temp is 110⁰. I asked about a ride, maybe to the Walmart 5 minutes away. His son said he could do that but would not pick me back up, I would need to get an Uber. Ok again, I guess I can live with that. Not exactly customer friendly, just matter of fact, take it or leave it attitude.

I have 2 vehicles, a 2016 Pilot and a CRV. Maybe 18 months ago, Mr Francisco suggested that I have the radiator hoses replaced ($300 cost) on my Pilot as it almost had 100,000 miles, and Honda recommended it at 100,000 miles. I put it off last summer but decided to do it this summer. I took it in today. I mentioned I had been told it was $300. His son told me that the $300 quote was for the CRV and not the Pilot. I told him that I was pretty sure the price was for the Pilot. He told me again I was wrong, it was for the CRV. Ok, that's fine, and I asked him to give me a quote for the Pilot. He told me that he had another customer to call and I could wait in my vehicle. I waited 15 minutes in my car running my a/c (it actually is 110⁰ today). He finally came out and told me it would be $480 plus tax. I was shocked that it had gone from $300 to $500, and I told him I would need to check some other places. He told me again the $300 quote was for the CRV and that I was never given one for the Pilot. He told me prices had increased and that his labor prices were less than any other shop and $480 was the price. He told me 2.5 hours of labor and $50 for the hoses. Essentially, take it or leave it and his attitude said he really didn't care which. I may have received a quote for my CRV as well, but I am 100% certain that I also was given a quote for the Pilot previously and specifically remember the mention that it was recommended at 100,000 miles. Yes, it's been more than a year, and I definitely expected that the $300 price would have increased since then, I just didn't expect such a huge increase.

I left Thunderbird Auto. There was no reason for the son to repeatedly tell me I was wrong and had not been given a quote for the Pilot. Just tell me what the price is. After leaving I pulled into a parking lot down the street and called the Peoria Honda Dealership and asked for a quote to get my radiator hoses replaced. I expected it would be higher than an independent shop. The quote was $399 plus tax. That's $100 less than Thunderbird Auto. My Pilot is at the Honda Dealership now getting new radiator hoses. I feel so disappointed. My trust in Thunderbird has been destroyed.

I know Thunderbird Auto has great reviews, and I 100% agree with them. Quality work and reasonable prices and honest mechanics. I know that Thunderbird has been in business for years, and they have more business than they can handle. I also know that losing my little bit of business is not going to have any effect on the well being of Thunderbird. I have written this review so that Mr. Francisco will know why he has lost my business and likely others too that are treated this way by his son. I WAS NOT TREATED LIKE FAMILY .

I was initially frustrated, disappointed and dishearted but after speaking with Puna and working with the people at this location, I finally had some hope that my car would really be FIXED this time after sinking over $10,000 into it to no avail. “I called this location prior to making an appointment and explained to the gentleman that answered the phone what I was needing. I also told him about the prices other shops had quoted me. He said that seemed a little high and that I might not need all that work. He invited me in for a free break inspection, so I made an appt. I arrived for my appt and it took roughly an hour as they were quite busy. When the guy called me up to the counter to show me my estimate, I was expecting an outrageous price(due to past dealings with auto shops). Imagine my surprise when it was way lower than anticipated. They did not try to upsell me or tack on any extra work. These guys are straightforward and very honest. 10/10 would recommend and do business with again”

“My car needed a battery and I gave Joe's a call. Without hesitation they were able to fit me in that same day, without an appointment, to take care of the new battery installation. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, making sure I got the right battery for my particular car (a hybrid). It takes a bit longer to change out this battery, as it is located inside of the trunk of the car! No issue for the team at Joe's. Job well done and I got my car back the same day. I highly recommend them for any service your vehicle may need.”

“I used a free car wash that was sent to my phone, you can't beat free. There was an attendant there who scanned my phone for me, it was quick and easy and the car got nice and clean.”

“I received an oil change by the manager of this location who was extremely nice and helpful. Going above and beyond to help me in a time of need. Prices are high for an oil change now days. But everything is super expensive. At least here he does extra to help and is overly helpful when checking on issues with your vehicle. If he is unable to provide a service at his shop he will go out of his way to explain another location or suggest a full on mechanic. Pleasant attitude of overall transaction. When you get there you drive up and wait to be waved to the oil change area. You stay in your vehicle with air running the whole wait. When it’s your turn you drive your own vehicle out to the bay and they check your lights. Fluids. Batteries and tire pressures. Do your oil change super fast and ask questions to make sure they covered everything for you. Refreshing. Thank you Valvoline.”
