If you've never gone through this experience it is quite grueling, on top of being emotional, since there are just so many things to do you are completely at the mercy of each vendor to close everything out, it can be very very stressful. The rep we spoke to earlier in the week instructed we stop into a store as soon as we got dad's death certificate. So we did. However, this was apparently not the process we were supposed to follow. After helping us get customer service on the line again, Heather, the store manager, hearing how our conversation was going with this second service rep, sat with us and helped walk us through everything. When we hung up for the second time we still didn't have the issue resolved, so she called them again with us. After an hour + in the store, my mom was finally good to go. Now, I've been a Verizon customer since I was 16 years old and I stay with them for their customer service, but don't think I have ever had someone so invested in making sure we had the help we needed. I seriously cannot say thank you enough. The kindness and compassion she showed my mom and I, especially sitting with us through two (in store) calls to customer service, after they told us that they couldn't help, was unparalleled.
