Absolutely worst experience with an auto mechanic. Brought our Chevy in because the brakes were squeaking even when not engaged and the van was slightly overheating sometimes. They determine the rear calipers are stuck and the fan clutch is out. So we schedule work for the next day. Get the van back after they do the work and five miles down the road the entire van starts shaking and clunking with coolant leaking out the bottom. It's a Saturday so now we're stuck in Rawlins until they open on Monday. When we bring it back, it's determined the fan is completely destroyed as is the radiator because the fan exploded! Almost charged us for a new radiator and then later said "oh it's under warranty we can do it no charge" when we were visibly upset. Finally get the van back Tuesday and the brakes are still squealing! They said they test drove it extra far after the second fix to make sure all was good and somehow they didn't notice the brakes still squealing? Paid $1300 (including a $65 credit card fee we were unaware of until after they charged it) plus we had to pay an extra 3 nights for a hotel because of either their mistake or a faulty part, and they didn't even fix the problem with the brakes. We're honestly scared to drive it. Truly worst experience ever. We left very angry and will never be back. Take your vehicle anywhere else!

I will definitely be going back to Mountain West Motors for my vehicle maintenance and repairs. I'm very happy with their customer service, pricing, and with how much better my SUV is running!

We needed a car repair during a cross country road trip. They got us in immediately, were super nice and even had a garage kitty to keep me company. Thanks for getting us back on the road.

Passing thru town on a cross country trip these people saved my life I would give them 10 stars if I could my car broke down getting back on the freeway I expected a $1200 fix they quoted me $980 and the car was fixed in a few hours even before checkout time and when I came to pick up my car he said he quoted me to high and lowered the price to $746 I honestly did not have the extra money and him saving me a few hundred dollars was great I’m traveling with my children they where nice and respectful and that’s an understatement!

The people at Mountain West Motors are awesome! They diagnosed our Ford Excursion diesel truck problems within a couple hours and had a repair estimate ready. We ok'd it and the parts were ordered. Once the parts were here, they got busy working on our truck. They finished ahead of schedule and under the estimated costs! The truck ran great and easily pulled our 20 foot trailer the 1600 miles back to Tennessee. Dean and the crew were awesome and treated us like we were neighbors from around the block! I would highly recommend this repair shop!!

Had our truck towed in and within two hours, sprung clamp on radiator hose was replaced and we were on our way to California. Can't say enough good things about these folks - courteous, efficient and friendly!

I was driving across the country by myself. My check engine light came on and I was grateful that this garage could take a look at a problem. I was also having an issue with my air conditioner blowing warm air. I left my car there for just over two hours (he had other jobs before mine) and during that time they changed the oil, ran a diagnostic on the engine code (a minor issue not needing repair), and added Freon to A/C (which I found later did not fix the problem). I’m not an auto expert, but I’m fairly certain that oil change, engine diagnostic and Freon charge could be done in about an hour. The total bill was $489- comprised mainly of labor charge of $360! I just don’t see how that is possible. Needless to say, I feel taken advantage of. Live and learn.Services: Auto A/C recharge

As a female it's hard to know if someone is taking advantage of you when servicing your vehicle...THIS SHOP I TRUST ENTIRELY.If you broke down near I80 they're just up the hill take a right on 3rd street then left on Spruce Street. My battery light came on, I was alone and on my way to Oregon; I knew it was my alternator. After spending the night in my car, I contacted many repair shops (One sop told me couldn't guarantee their labor...What!!) and settled on Mntn West Motors. They had a Cancellation that morning (blessed) and the rebuilt part I purchased was installed within a few hours. They allowed me to use the bookkeepers car to go get breakfast (thankful). Shortly after my return manager advised me battery light was still on. They did a diagnostic test and discovered the part was bad (auto part store had to come out and confirm- they should have tested before selling). That meant spending another night to wait for the new part. They let me hang out in lobby all day (couch/TV). I have a pay it forward due (once I get a job again) - as I did not have to sleep in my car that night (very grateful)Stand up group of people work there, they really take care of you like a friend. Their honest and hard working.I made it to Oregon, then back home to Indiana with no issues from my alternator repair.Thank you to everyone who took care of me, I truely appreciated the honesty and hospitality. Oh and keep feeding those deer that walk through town (like they own it) those Poptarts, and veggies lol.Service: Electrical

I told them the errors I was getting, which I'd gotten for free from O'Reilly's, and that the errors went away for awhile, then came back worse after I hit a pothole. They charged me almost $160 to give me the same codes I had given them, said it was probably the PCM, and referred me to the local Chevy garage, Skyline. It was the fusebox, not the PCM. They could have replaced the fusebox if they had put any real effort into correctly diagnosing it. Preferred ripping off the out-of-state female. How cliche. If you have a Chevy, take it right to Skyline.
