Good experience...off Main St equates to absolutely no street noise. The owner checked us in himself and demonstrates dedication to personalized service. The bathroom, although small, has unending super hot water with good pressure. Our room is super cozy, clean, and has a bed topper, very comfy.Walkability: Off the main street, but located in Historic District. Restaurants and Taverns are walkableFood & drinks: Try Isabella's - Excellent menu, service, and atmosphere. Brandi was our server and bartender...she is top-notch !

I really enjoyed my experience here. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The modest breakfast got me going each day. I would definitely stay here again when visiting the area!

This is a completely disreputable business. I had a confirmed reservation through Travelocity on Thursday October 5. Upon arriving at about 5PM after driving for 6 hours, the proprietor at first said he could not find evidence of the reservation. When he found it he told me there were no rooms available and could provide no explanation why. He also smelled like he just emerged from a vat of whiskey. Caveat emptor!

The owners are amazing people and try to do all they can to make your stay enjoyable! There is a nice covered patio with a grill for you to use, which was fantastic and allowed us to cook our own dinner. There is also a cute fire pit for patrons to use. Rooms are a bit small, but are cozy. Beds are comfortable. We will most definitely stay there again on any future trips to Newcastle.

We were greater kindly and shown a comfortable room. Had a great night's sleep. Breakfast is more like what you have in your kitchen every morning. But alot of options if you are willing. Very quite and off the main path. Rooms was nicely remodeled. I do think they could lose some unnecessary pieces of furniture to open it up a little. Our bathroom was tight but not unusable. We were in double queen bed on the end and I would suggest removing the second queen bed and putting a bunk bed (or even a triple bunk for families) in the backroom with a table so the kitchen would be more usable.Safety: Felt very safe.

When we travel we look for the sweet spots. Pines Country Inn is quintessential Americana, truly a lost gem of family owned businesses supporting their families and local communities. Absolutely charming place and wonderful host.

Tucked away (and I mean "tucked" away) in Newcastle, you'll find your stay for the evening. Don't get discouraged if you can't find it right away. It's there. I eventually found it. Of course, I wasn't using GPS like you are, so it took me a bit longer. Tucked away means quiet and quiet it was. Birds chirping were the only sounds I heard when I opened the car door. That's a good sign if you're looking for quiet. I checked in and was given room #13. Yes, it ran through my mind, uh oh, unlucky number 13. But doom and gloom weren't in the cards for me. Quite the contrary. Number 13 was exceptionally clean and comfortable. My host was friendly and helpful when it came to suggesting a place for dinner. Though trying to follow his directions found me at an oil refinery. LoL! Again, no GPS. I eventually backtracked and ended up where I started to. Quick Tip: At your next stop at a store, pick up some cheap double AA batteries and shove them into your suitcase. You'll be glad you did when your remote for the TV doesn't work. No having to go through the hassle of getting dressed and making your way to the front desk or waiting for maintenance to get to your room. Just pop them in, and you're set. As I had to do at The Pines. It didn't take but a minute before I could watch the mindless dribble which spewed forth. Oh, don't forget to pull your batteries before you leave. You'll undoubtedly need them down the road.

This is a classic country inn. We stayed in the "cottage" which offered privacy, a kitchen, and the peace and quiet we were seeking. WIFI worked extremely well with excellent bandwidth. The staff was very accommodating to our needs and made sure everything was to our liking. If you are expecting a 5 star hotel this will not meet you expectations. However if country charm is more of what you are seeking, this is the place for you.

What a nice hidden little gem. Found this while just searching on Google for places to stay overnight. I didn't want to spend a lot because this was just going to be used for sleep during a nice little road trip. The owner actually was outside when we pulled up late(930pm) and he was very helpful and gave us the room key.The room was small and quaint very clean very vintage feeling. The bed was very comfortable it was soft but firm and did not feel old. Very quiet environment no loud noises even early in the morning. Also, a very cute area outside for lounging around. I would highly recommend staying here!

I have tried posting pictures, but that option is not working. I will start by saying this place is not handicap accessible. So be aware. We had room 11 with 2 private rooms, with mutual access to bathroom that was very small and cramped. Small older shower. Low toilet. AC and TV in one room, small kitchen in other room. Bedding and furnishing ok, but just miss the mark. A mish mash of styling. Breakfast??? A few bananas and other fruit in bowl out in the open. Location is secluded and quiet, but mosquitos are thick! You cannot sit outside without bug spray.

The staffs was excellent, the rooms reminds you of being obsessed with your grandparents just brings back some sweet memories of family, so quiet and secluded but yet close to everything, my son and I stay in room 16, will be coming back with hubby. So peaceful and breathtaking.

This place is a possible scam. I tried to book a night for next weekend and the site booked me for this Monday. There is no place to cancel the reservation that I can find and my call was answered by a gentleman who said he would call back in 30 minutes. That was over an hour ago and when I called again back it went to an answering service. Cancellation policy is 2 days in advance. As it is Saturday, I'm outside that timeline already, how convenient for them.

I love this little off the beaten path Hotel it was super quiet and the rooms were spacious they allowed for an early check-in which was so kind. However the rooms were a little musty smelling because they're older but nothing opening the windows for a little bit wouldn't refresh. Also was a great value.
