Right in downtown one block to main street . Ample parking at rooms first level. Large well maintenence pool and friendly atmosphere . Quiet large rooms . Very clean .

The location is superb and the owner is so down to earth, friendly is willing to accommodate with what you need for your stay. Long story short we were booked for river road through a 3rd party come to find out they over booked. We got there found out we had no place to stay for our weekend trip. They apologized and gave us a few names as we seen and chose the gables in a way it worked out other wise we would of never known to check or stay here definitely our fave place to stay and we meet such nice kind people here.

This week we visited the Dells coming in on the Amtrak. Gables Motel was just a few blocks from the depot. Located just one block north of the heart of downtown...everything is easy to get to.
Hamish the owner greeted us and made sure we were happy with the room. This family owned and operated Motel may be "old school" but that is part of it's charm.
When heading to the Dells and you want to stay downtown give the Gables Motel a try. They have a nice outdoor pool too so bring your swim suit.

Stay there over the weekend and enjoyed it. Another motel I have want to stay at in the Delles. Will definitely stay there this fall when my daughter and I return . Loving being able to park there and walk downtown !!

Please don’t trust what they tell you on the cost of rooms. We booked online and got a nice price. Shortly after we booked we recieved an email from hotel saying the cost of our room was incorrect and it was going to be quite a bit more. We cancelled and will not be back. Very poor customer service.

We were there August 11th - August 13, we took our family there, we had 5 rooms, everyone was very happy with everything about the place. The Gables Motel has been our go to place for several years in the past and will be into the future. The location; park the car for the weekend and go, the rooms, the pool, the staff and the owner Hamish are the reason we keep going back there, very personable and approachable. We have never been disappointed during any of our stays. Everything about the Gables Motel is what the Dells is about, family time, the shops, the restaurants, good times. We had 6 kids ranging from 2 to 13 years old and not one complaint about the motel or where we were at.Who needs the water parks when you can stay at the Gables. we will definitely be back

I had planned on leaving 5 out of 5 for this motel. The man, Hamish, was extremely nice and friendly and accommodating at check in. The room was clean and stocked nicely. (Towels and supplies did seem to be a mishmash somewhat accumulated from different hotel sources but that was not a problem to me) Wood floors which were very nice and clean. The beds were nice and well made the only thing is that there are queen size mattresses on full size frames so the overhang is not stable and they are on wheels so tend to roll every time you move. The AC was a wall unit had to stand on something to reach it to turn on but again not a problem. There was a microwave and fridge that worked very well and a grocery store not far away so we ate from foods fixed in the room. I ended up with one extra person and asked for a roll away bed at check in which the owner went out of his way to kindly accommodate. The pool outside was fabulous, the kids loved it The hours were 9 to 10 but around 9:30 the kids were being loud and I had told them to quiet about that time the owner came and asked very politely "if the kids could be mindful of the other guests". I really appreciated him doing that and wording it so nicely and the kids understood them. Room rate was very reasonable and location was fabulous. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much These were my points of concern that gave me pause: We came in on the train so location was walking distance, train arrived at 7pm I called to let them know late arrival but they had already charged my card for the 3 nights in full prior to arrival which gave me concern but did make check in very speedy and efficient. We were there 3 nights but in all those days no one once came to replace towels nor empty trash. But of most concern was after leaving without notice there were 3 attempts for charges to my card without notice. When I called I was told because we destroyed towels. Not true. Said room was a mess. Not true. Yes there was a lot of trash all contained and bagged next to the door along with the towels from the 1st day waiting for daily service that never happened. We have stayed at numerous I mean hundreds of hotels we always leave the room in good condition and have never once, not one single time ever in more than 40 years of both US and world travel never once have we ever had any one do any type of charge after leaving, never once had any deposits not returned, never once had any complaints, never once had any hotel say there were any damages to anything. I had planned on returning to this hotel but this is the one and only reason that I now feel I cannot trust a future stay here. I am not ok with my card being accessed and charged at will. Other than this issue it was a very pleasant stay with very pleasant staff.Walkability: Close to all downtown activities and train station but city definitely needs some type of shuttle service for tourists running down the Dells pkwy

The owner is super nice and accommodating, and talked to everyone. We will definitely come back here. We've stayed in high end hotels, but never had the hospitality like we did here.Rooms: Room was clean, affordable, and spacious.Nearby activities: Close to many attractions and shopping.Walkability: Walking distance to a ton of cool attractions and shopping.

Having visited the Dells numerous times before, I was pleasantly surprised to discover this hidden gem of a motel. I had an amazing time at the gables motel! The service was top-notch, and everything was incredibly clean and well-maintained. The pool was a delight, and the rooms were spotless. Owner is very dedicated to his guests. I can't recommend this place enough!

The owner is very attentive, professional but down home. Great location. Rooms are wonderful, heated pool. An great price.Nearby activities: Your 1 block of the main drag where all the shopping an entertainment is.Walkability: Don't need to drive anywhere
