Hands down the best place to stay in the Dells. In fact, the Black Hawk is the main reason we come. Excellent service, clean comfortable rooms, two really fun swimming pools (one indoors) with slides and a hot tub. You will feel like family and leave rested.

I've been coming to the Blackhawk since I was a kid. Perfect for famillies. My kids 10-14 had a great time with the indoor and outdoor pools. Very relaxing and not super busy like the larger hotels. Owners/staff very friendly. Rooms were nice and clean. So nice to be able to sit outside the room and enjoy the night air. Added bonus, this year we were able to watch the Dell's fireworks from the pool!

Very charming motel. We stayed in a kitchen equipped room with a hot tub and it was a great size for 2 people. It was clean and comfortable. The front office staff was great and we enjoyed the pinball machines in the arcade. Having kwik trip so close and being able to walk to downtown was also a great perk. Would definitely stay here again.

Our room was super clean and the entire complex was very well maintained. We loved both the indoor & outdoor pools. Our kids used them daily during our stay. Wish all the cottages came with a kitchen but we enjoyed our stay nonetheless. I loved that our unit didn't share walls because our little one is loud. The walking distance to convenience store and downtown is nice too. Will definitely stay again!!

Super friendly front desk, comfortable bed, and clean rooms! We stayed here for 4 days and loved every minute. If we come back through in the future we'll be staying here again.

Not the same amazing value it used to be. We had visited 10 years previously, and had a blast! This was in the era of diving boards and much cheaper rates. Nowadays the pricing is in line with a typical chain hotel but not quite the same amenities. Tickets for Timbavati Wildlife Park were appreciated, as was a discount to Pirates Cove Mini Golf course; but there's no breakfast and no real hangout spot for after dinner other than poolside. We stayed in a kitchen equipped room - and had to request or buy several additional items - missing dish soap for hand washing, the bedding for the pull-out sofa bed was stained and not enough to cover up with, and the air conditioner was tough to dial in - it never seemed to crank out super cold air, and when it kicked on/off it was extremely loud (typical for a window mounted unit, I know). We shared a wall with another family and while they were mostly quiet, we had to endure crying babies and outdoor smoking leaking into our room. Location is okay - within walking distance to downtown and relatively quiet but still half mile walk or so, there's also a Kwik Trip across the street but it can get quite dangerous to cross Broadway Street. The pools were nice - very clean and heated enough to keep you warm. Kids enjoyed hopping from outdoors to indoors. The old school arcade room kept them occupied for awhile too.
Overall just an okay impression - not as amazing as we remembered from years past, and not the deal it used to be. I won't rule the Blackhawk out for future stays, but I'll probably take a closer look at other hotels/motels next time.

We chose this motel based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. The Black Hawk Motel really is a great place to stay in the Dells. After we enjoyed two nights at a water park resort, it was a nice change to get closer to town and away from the crowds but still have access to all of the local attractions. The price was great and our family of 5 easily fit in a Deluxe two Queen room which was more cottage like than a motel. I highly recommend this gem of a motel. One of the cleanest places I've ever stayed, very well maintained grounds. The kids loved the indoor and outdoor pools and arcade.
Rooms: We stayed in room 70. It was spacious, clean and updated. Plenty of storage, drawers, counters, etc. The room had a great kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and plenty of cabinets. I liked the extra sink outside the bathroom.
Nearby activities: Walking distance to downtown, less than 10 min drive to Mt. Olympus and other attractions. Our room included free passes to the zoo and haunted Mansion which were great places to visit and entertaining.
Walkability: Our room was across the street from the main building. A quiet neighborhood street that we had no trouble walking across to get to the pool.

I'll be honest, didn't intend on coming here, me and my mom were in an accident and ended up staying here for 4 days, it's a nice motel, it looks nice and has basic accommodations like : Microwave, mini fridge, house keeping, indoor and outdoor pool, laundry room, parking, and you get free tickets to a zoo and some golf while you stay here. I will say it's a little more expensive then I thought, four days costed us $445.75. Along with buying food from a gas station we spent almost $500. Staff were also a little rude. Overall it was alright, but there's cheaper right down the street.
Rooms: Looks nice, average size/little bit smaller
Have micro/mini fridge
Sink is outside the bathroom
Small shampoo/conditioner/bath soap provided
TV has Google search, and the app store, Netflix is default, but other apps can be installed
Automatically logs out of all accounts around 11am next morning.
Ac unit in room goes down to 61F(noisy)
Table with 2 chairs
Dresser in room
Nightstand
Few outlets
Nearby activities: Pool on site, Wisconsin dells is a tourist town, so there's a lot to do in the vicinity
Safety: Doors have lock on handle, deadbolt, and chain, screen also has lock on handle, bathroom has no lock, it's just a sliding wooden door.
Walkability: Very walk able
Food & drinks: None are served at the motel that I have seen

I like that this is one of the few hotels that hasn't been taken over by big corporations. Any problems are dealt with and addressed promptly and the front office cares about guest experience. The room we stay in has low water pressure and seems pretty damp but otherwise was a good experience.

My family and I have been vacationing in the Dells for years, and we always book with the Blackhawk whenever we get the chance. The price is the best around, the rooms are clean and cozy..will definitely stay there again. If they need a night auditor, I'd happily volunteer.
