We were blown away today! Besides the stunning architecture, we had the world’s best guide. Walt (pretty sure his name was Walt. The gentleman from Arkansas) was fantastic. He provided a great deal of fun, entertainment, while informing us of the history and the science of the observatory. Walt, you were a delight! We will definitely be back for some of the many events coming up.

My husband and I did the night tour from 9pm-11pm and had a fantastic time! The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and clearly love space. It was incredible to see the telescope and view some space objects. Try to go when the weather isn’t cloudy- but if you do there is still much to enjoy with the photography taken from the telescope in the form of glass slides.

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! Such hidden gem! The beautiful exterior is just the beginning. You will walk through the history of Yerkes and the important role it played, not only in the history of Wisconsin, but the advancement of science. They are currently working on some major projects to expand what you can do there. I can't wait and see what is next!!

We had the ceremony of our wedding of 18 people at Yerkes. Every staff member we interacted with was an absolute DELIGHT! We had most contact with Jana who was quick to respond with any and every question and got the information quickly if she didn’t know the answer. The team made us feel at home and comfortable during the rehearsal and the day of the ceremony and even with rain on and off all day, they helped plan for an indoor ceremony in case it was still raining (which it was) when our original plan was outdoors. Everything went on without a hitch and they made sure the event felt private and intimate and welcomed us to ring the Yerkes bell after the ceremony which was a lovely touch! I couldn’t recommend such a beautiful place more for a wedding especially with the people who work here and radiate how much they love it too! They are wealth of knowledge about the place too and gave our attendees a private tour. 1000/10

Seems like a really neat place to see. We got there at 1pm and scanned the Q r code at the door like the sign said, did not work so we went to the door and meet a guy there said you can’t come in and you can come back next Friday, super rude and unprofessional to say the least how he acted towards up, we asked if we could pay to see it, he said no and you can’t come in and you need to leave right now. There was some other people standing at the door that said to the man, hey thanks for the free tour. I hope this person gets fired! Unbelievable how we got treated. We walked around outside for a while and people kept coming out of the building from the same door for over the next hour. To be treated like scum of the earth from the person working there was not something I wanted our young son to see.

We visited the Observatory to see a Sci fi film showing. While it's cool that your ticket comes with a candy bar, uncooked popcorn and warm soda/water.
They put you in a cold, cramped room and lecture you on the history of film making. Then you watch 2 films from 1902 that makes you think you're on an Alice in Wonderland acid trip. Then you are quizzed on the films.
We were expecting something entertaining and so much more than what we got.
We would definitely not recommend their film series. Not worth paying $50.

Delightful tour of this important place in the history of astronomy. I hope the foundation is working to get the Observatory listed on the National Register of Historic Places at a minimum. I think it deserves National Historic Landmark status. I love the vision for it's future, so much potential here beyond seeing it as "just an historic site." Brava!

What a hidden gem! Lady at Jayne store in Lake Geneva gave the recommendation.
This place does not disappoint, rich with culture and amazing history.
The tour guide was as entertaining as the place
he was full of knowledge both useful and whimsical!
It was so cool to be at a place Albert Einstein,Carl Sagen and other great minds passed through.I highly recommend this place and fun fact it is still a working observatory!
Get your ticket now and come back in summer to walk the lush grounds!
