I went to our local petco tonight with my two children, 7 and 9, to pick out beta fish after my daughter's goldfish passed this weekend. We picked out everything, including the fish, tanks, and decoration. As we were taking one final look at the fish an associate started organizing the beta fish saying "people keep moving these" and then without looking in our direction asked what we were getting and what set up we had at home completely missing the fact our cart was filled with supplies. After I responded that we were getting all the supplies she then critiqued the tank setup we had chosen and said she'd recommend a bigger tank that was only $16 more because otherwise we'd have to clean the tank twice a week and that's a headache. After I responded that I'd think about it, she started walking away, saying, "I'm not sure my manager will feel comfortable with the setup you chose." I was shocked. I hid my disgust with the situation from my kids and headed to the register to find the associate there on their phone. After putting it away and after I emptied our cart, he said, "So beta fish actually need at least 2.5 gallon tanks." We left without purchasing anything. I'm in complete aw about how these associates can refuse to sell us two beta fish with a more than adequate setup. I never spoke to a manager, was never acknowledged more than with criticism and I left that store with two crying children after we spent almost an hour enjoying our time browsing and deciding what decorations would look best with their fish. I would never recommend anyone going to petco. They don't actually care about the beta, pets, or families they attend to but rather selling you bigger and more expensive supplies that you don't need.

Needed a beta fish for my beta fish vase via instructions that came with vase. It had instructions to put a live air plant in water and a beta. She said she couldn't sell me a fish cause it was against there policy to put a beta in a container with no air flow bubbling system. Then why is it legal for stores to.sell a vase with instructions on how to set up a beta bowl? Downright stupid!

Petco is West Bend does a really wonderful job grooming. This is a photo of my dog with his complimentary gingerbread bandana that he got after his appointment. He came home that day so happy, smelling like gingerbread cookies with the softest fur!

My young children wanted to get fish, a process I am wholly unfamiliar with. I went in 3 times: first to talk to someone about what I would need, how it works, what it would cost. Then to buy all the stuff. Lastly to buy the fish themselves once my water was ready. Every time I worked with a different person who was impressively knowledgeable and helpful! The level of expertise, not to mention just friendly and great with my kids- It was exceptional. Thank you to the whole team!

Staff is great. The dog and cat selection is excellent, but their bugs are always dead (for our lizards) or not in stock, and that is really frustrating!

I came into the store because my pick up in store order had canceled. I was sick so I couldn’t come pick it up. I went to the register to see if they could find the items for me. I wasn’t able to speak due to a medical condition. The cashier called someone to come and help me. They were both really patient as I had to write what I wanted to say. They gladly retrieved the items and brought them to the register. I then checked out. Wrote thank you and left. I just wanted the manager to know what wonderful employees are at the west bend Wisconsin store

I want to say thank you to Kaylee at Petco for making my son's dream of owning a cockatiel a reality. Kaylee was incredibly helpful, providing valuable information about caring for the bird and helping us choose the perfect fit for our family. Kaylee’s love for birds shines through, her knowledge and friendly demeanor made the entire experience enjoyable. Thanks to Kaylee, we now have a happy and healthy cockatiel at home, and my son couldn't be happier.

Friendly staff but completely messed up my pickup order. Wrong size food 16 vs 50lb., wrong flavors and sizes of milk bones. Picked the items off the website and brought in a print out. Will return because usually they’re right on.

Store was a bit messy and lacking on a lot of product. I know the individual stores don't determine price but they have become way over priced recently. A coat for a 18 pound dog was $56.
