“Both front desk employees were AWESOME. Outside was clean & well lit. No funky hotel smell. Everything looked very clean. Room wasn't anything over the top. The printed curtain was broken. The floor could use a good carpet cleaning as could the fridge cabinet. Pillows were AWFUL. Completely flat, even when we balled them up. Breakfast was ok. Fresh waffles, eggs, sausage and potatoes. However the clothed furniture needs a good soapy scrub.

“Can't wait to stay here again! What a great concept that I wish was available in more cities. All the comforts of home in a modern luxury hotel feel. Incredibly clean, quiet, friendly staff, and very secure building. Great location in downtown Milwaukee, we walked everywhere.”

“I left with tears of joy and a bag of gummy bears. It does not get better than that! My sleep was terrific. The soap/shampoo left me feeling awesome. (It was better than my go-to wash I brought. And I got to practice ukulele. My exit started with an elevator ride with the most lovely of lovely head bellmen, (Whom I'm remembering also helped me when I arrived navigate an easy path to work.) He then instructed his valet with the most respect and kindness. I checked out at the front desk. A lady with shorter red hair and a dark-haired gentleman were so kind, intuitive, and welcoming it brought me to tears. I was struck by the interaction and their warmth. (So, now I'm in tears...and needed to take a second to take it all in and appreciate the moment.) When I walked outside, I was super surprised to see the valet was still at my drivers' door ready to help me into my truck. He made sure I had everything I needed. This service was crazy for the room rate. I will be traveling back with my husband.”

“We loved everything about this place. From our amazing room that was very clean to being able to walk around the whole place and explore. It was Halloween weekend so we did a bit of ghost hunting. Enjoyed hanging out in the bar area with our own drinks(bar wasn't open when we where there). Fun staying in a piece of Milwaukee history. Thanks Dubbel Dutch. Def will stay again.”

“This was by far the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff here was extremely helpful and extremely nice! Like creepy kind of nice, like in a scary movie, but I'm from Chicago, and it might just be the people of Milwaukee kinda nice. I remember back in the 90s, we had a really good basketball dynasty, and I think Chicago people use to be this kind of nice, because they were happy. The Pfister brought me back to those happier days! Also, Google, P fister, with care, PG settings.Rooms: The new rooms are so dope!Food & drinks: The bartenders downstairs are great, friendly (even when busy) and im going to miss them in the lobby bar (I've got a bit of a drinking problem maybe) The food I had was amazing, and I never even got to check out Blue, at the top of the hotel.”

“My check-in experience with Diamond was fantastic! I got into town about 3 hours early and fully expected to have to wait until 3pm to check-in. I asked if an early check-in would be possible on such short notice and she made it happen!Diamond was incredibly polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. “The Kimpton Journeyman provided a centrally located hotel for a quick weekend trip to Milwaukee and one that was exceptionally clean, updated and staffed with friendly and professional team members.Room 333 was spacious, generally quiet, and well furnished and decorated. The bathroom was clean and had excellent water pressure. Towels and toiletries well stocked.Service was friendly without being overbearing. Check in was quick and informative with the front desk staff briefly sharing information about the hotel amenities and services. The valet/bellhop team always offered a friendly greeting. As with other IHG properties, any needs were quickly addressed if I sent a text to the front desk.Coffee in the AM and wine and beer in the PM were offered in the cozy lobby, which features a pool table, two gas fire places, and plenty of comfortable sitting options and areas. The onsite restaurant adjacent to the lobby and the rooftop bar, neither of which I tried, appeared nice. During a ride share trip, the driver had good things to say about the rooftop bar.The location of the hotel, in the Third Ward, provided for many coffee spots, restaurants and upscale shopping options.One star was subtracted from this review for the room not being cleaned or attended to on the second night of my stay. This, unfortunately, occurred despite the fact that I had checked in with the front desk to make sure housekeeping was happening daily (post-COVID precaution I now take) on two separate occasions. The staff were apologetic when this was brought to their attention and that was appreciated.Stay details: March 8-11, 2024. Adult male couple. IHG Gold status. Weekend trip.”

“I've stayed here every time I've been in Milwaukee and I love it! The rooms are super clean, the staff is nice, and the location is stellar! Each time I've stayed I've been conveniently close to the zoo, American Family Field, and the State Fair.

I've also come here a few times as a solo traveller and I've always felt safe and right at home. I highly recommend!”

“We hosted a bridal shower here and decided to come through prior to our event to stay in the hotel. The hotel decor is fantastic, upscale, edgy, clean and staff that are so friendly, from our valet Aleks to the folks at the check in desk. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel which had an exceptional menu and everything we had was delicious. We had a massage at the hotel the next morning and then proceeded to have our bridal shower festivities the following day. I cannot commend Ann Marie, Emma and the staff there enough. They planned the event for us to a tee and were super communicative and responsive. I made a major mix up with our dates and put us down for the wrong date (completely my fault) and the team could not have been more responsive or accommodating. They completely flipped the event to the following day and did not even one time make me feel like it was a hardship even though I am positive it resulted in a lot of rework for them. Ann Marie and Emma both in particular were so wonderful in the communication, always positive and complete professionals who made this event remarkable. I could not be more grateful and could not recommend this location any more highly!!The hotel itself is beautiful, very well kept and clean and is dog friendly. I would absolutely come back to stay even not for a special event.”

“My stay was great. Short walk to the Fiserv arena. They put a lot of money into restoring the brewery and making rooms, so I didn't mind the cost. The room I had was clean and perfect. It even had a small kitchen that I used. TV in the room could have been bigger to watch the college basketball championship game. They should have made the beds every day and not by request since the room was pricey. Also, they should mention that there is free street parking a couple blocks towards the left if you are on a budget and want to avoid the forty dollar valet fee and the twenty dollar parking garage fee. The restaurant next door was useless to me because it was never open when I needed it. Never heard of a restaurant that serves dinner that closes at 8 PM on a weekend.”

“Big shout out to the staff at this hotel. Super helpful, incredibly welcoming and extremely focused on customer satisfaction. I've had to travel quite a lot lately and stay here often. They make me feel at home! When I arrive they greet me by name and remember our last conversations. I was a little out of my depth with their winter weather and everyone was so helpful with tips and what not to do.... Be sure to say hi to Carol Misurek. She is the sweetest, most caring human. She went above and beyond the other day when she realized I hadn't checked in. She emailed and called me to be sure I was okay. Who does that these days? Well Carol does! I so appreciated that someone noticed I could be missed. As a woman who travels for work I found this so refreshing. Anyone looking for a place to stay when in New Berlin, WI, You can't go wrong with this choice.”

“As a titanium member, I say a lot if marriot properties and I've almost turned down this thinking it was under the same owner ship as the one in north Milwaukee but, as I'm must sayit not this is a very enjoyable experience. The hotel from last night was just not welcoming i ask the woman at the front desk did i wake her andvshebwent crazy but its clear i did wake her up from night sleep never again will i stay at that location at this location The room is nice, warm and welcoming and a host front desk AVA just went out of her way to help me and other guests you can tell when people love there job she acknowledges people as a human not just money for the hotel. Ava once again, I appreciate you, and thank you for being back great person .”

The bar is nice but it never seems to be open.
Breakfast is simple.
Overall I really love the location and the rooms very much.

“I stayed in the room with a separate bath. Really spacious, clean and nicely furnished with lots of storage space. Comfortable bed. Only complaint is that the comforter was paper thin. If you stay in the winter ask for an extra comforter when you check in. Great value for about $200.”

“Beautiful old hotel, modernized but kept the beat of the old. You can see a bit of the room doors in my photos. There was also a full, modern kitchen and eating area, which we barely used, as we were only there for one night. Possibly my favorite hotel ever!”

“Can't recommend this hotel enough. I actually just came back from my trip. My family of 3 stayed there a couple nights ago. First of all the hotel is beautiful: exterior and interior. Our room (we stayed in the king + pull out sofa) has high ceiling and the herring bone wooden floor. The location is the icing on the cupcake. I wished I could have stayed longer in this hotel and Milwaukee. The only complaint we has was the pull out bed was super uncomfortable. You could almost see /feel the spring through the sheets. Other than that I definately recommend this hotel.”

“Nice hotel nice rooms, the only bad thing is the cleaning people should really clean out the kitchen cabinets as there was a live bug under a glass in the cabinet and the dishes were dirty, needless to say we did not use any dishes in our stay.Other then that the room was clean and nice.”

“If you're going to watch the brewers play or go to a show there, this would be the closest place to stay. Only .5 miles. You can definitely walk it. We took uber there cost us $20 30 minutes after the event had started you'll pay about 30 each way. Rooms were clean. Nothing fancy free breakfast is there if you want it. Staff was very nice. McDonald's and starbucks next door. Downtown only takes 10 to 15 minutes to get to.”

“Was in town for a business trip, room was immaculate. Up to date with all the furnishings. Bed was very comfortable for a good nights rest. Bathroom was big with a walk in shower. Breakfast is top notch and plenty of amenities.”

“I travel often so staying in hotels is normal for me. This hotel is fantastic, great size rooms, gym is great, the only thing I would complain about is the lounge. “We had a quick overnight stay at Tru. I booked our room through a 3rd party site and realized a couple weeks later that I was double charged by Hilton as well. When I called, I went directly to Rob, the general manager. I was met with true concern and him wanting to make right this situation asap. I’m very pleased with how fast it was handled and the refund sent back to us.As for the stay, the rooms are simple but decorated so fun. It reminded me of all my hostel stays when I backpacked through Europe. Modern, artistic, functional, and clean!There was also a point when I needed a few feminine hygiene products, and the woman at the front desk handed me a handful and let me know if I needed any more, that the main public restrooms near the lobby also were stocked with baskets full of tampons/pads. Very thoughtful and convenient. I didn’t get the chance to have much of breakfast before we had to leave in the morning, but the breakfast bar looked really nice!”
