Incredibly knowledgeable and helpful shop. Owner, John, is a proud Tosa business owner that has my business. He’s real down to earth and a pro at what he does.
Plus, he’s got a bird that’s older than me by a decade if you don’t go in for your bike, or for John, at least go in for the bird ?
You can purchase new and used bikes here. I personally go here for bike repairs, tune ups, free air pump, and tire swaps.
Great, trustworthy local business.

I went in with little to no knowledge of what kind of bike I needed, and they were super helpful and knowledgeable about what would fit me best. Although it turned out they didn't have the particular bike size in stock at the time, I felt like I was in good hands. I would return in the future.

Such a great neighborhood bike shop. They are speedy, nice, and thorough whether it’s for a full tune-up or a quick tweak. I take my road bike here to get ready for the warm season but just recently I was trying to tighten my brakes and just couldn’t figure out what piece to adjust. I rode it over and they tightened my brakes, no questions asked, and didn’t make me feel stupid (this is huge for me based on past experiences). Love Johnson’s! I recommend them to everyone.

1996 i was a 14 year old kid who had just spent the afternoon swimming at Hoyt Park when i came out to the bike rack to find the stunt pegs on my GT Vertigo had been stolen. The Pegs doubled as rear wheel nuts so needless to say i couldn't ride my bike back home to 17th and cherry due to the wheel coming off the bike. I walked the bike to Emery's on North ave and purchased a new set of Pegs so that i may be able to ride the bike home. After purchasing the pegs i asked if i could borrow a wrench to put them on and they told me no and since i had opened the package right away i couldn't return the pegs. I put the pegs on with the hand strength i had and scootered the bike back home from 68th and north ave to 17th and cherry. I havent stepped foot in that place since. I buy all my bikes from Emerys on Lisbon. Eff this place!

Super nice folks to deal with. I bought a new 29” Big Ripper far cheaper than they are sold for online, even cheaper than people are asking for used ones! Highly recommend checking them out.

John is great. I went in with a winter beater looking to convert to a single speed. John gave me advice every step of the way through and helped me find the right parts I needed for the job.

They used to be friendly and helpful but not any more. I called to see if they did minor work on an electric bike. As soon as I asked, they got very judgmental, disinterested and almost rude. Just needed my freewheel replaced. He says they won’t disconnect any electric components. It’s one cord and it is easily unplugged. They didn’t have the part I needed in stock either. I asked for a freewheel and he offered me a cassette (completely different parts). Ordered parts elsewhere and did the work myself. I will be going to Tosa Bike Garage from now on. Not sure why they suddenly were judgemental and rude. Not everyone can ride a regular bike. Get with the times. E-bikes are here to stay.

Top notch service, the best at what they do, bought several bikes here and always satisfied. Friendly and helpful, old school style, John the owner runs the shop like his Dad did, with class. Get there before May and avoid the krush if you're in a hurry, but they usually have a pretty quick turnaround time. Bring in a flat and walk out aired up. Even have a layaway program if you need it.
