Always an enjoyable shopping experience here - store is spacious and well laid out, with items neatly organized by color, style and size, nice clean dressing rooms too. The employees are friendly and helpful but give you your space. Really great sales too.

In the midst of having to return to the office more frequently since the pandemic, I've been replenishing my office wardrobe attire. From 1-2 days, to 3-4 my rotating options for what to wear became limited. I've been picking up selective pieces from everywhere from Brooks Brothers to Nordstroms; however, today (due to being in the area) I decided to shop [this] J Crew location. I'm aware this location is considered one of the "factory" stores; however, nothing in terms of pricing sets in apart from its non-factory stores IMO. So, I was able to find something to add to the corporate America aesthetic portion of my wardrobe. The assistance and help from the ladies working the sales floor and fitting rooms was what I typically expect from J Crew. I've shopped at many, from Washington DC in Georgetown to Michigan Avenue in Chicago and more. However, it wasn't until I got to the check out counter that I experienced such never seen before attitude. Although slightly discounted, my purchase was a pair of $300.00 trousers. Not expecting the warmest of interaction, since the woman at the counter never smiled at me or offered any friendly interaction- the only thing she offered immediately was to sign up for a J Crew credit card, which I declined. She then told me the exact amount I would save if I opened up a credit card. I'd never had anyone push that hard to convince someone to open a store credit card, but politely I still declined. Finally, she asked if I'd shopped with J Crew before (which I confirmed that I had) so, I provided her with my email. Once pulling up my shopping history, she saw I've been such a loyal shopper I'd actually accumulated money to apply as a discount. Thinking after seeing how much money I've spent at J Crew, she warm up a bit. She didn't. Once I saw her begin to ball up the trousers I was purchasing, I asked for for the hanger they were displayed on. Normally when you buy dress pants at J Crew they wrap them in tissue paper or offer to hang them with a protective cover. However, neither of those were done or offered. Her response, we don't give out hangers. I don't know how I feel about this. If this had happened other than at J Crew, perhaps, I wouldn't be as shocked. But, the fact I've been such a loyal custom for years and would receive offers to work there without even applying just made the entire experience sting a bit. I not saying I wont shop there anymore; however, It took all of me to not turn away from the counter and say' "keep your hanger and your pants!"

Merchandise appears to be of quality. The young lady who assisted me was extremely helpful and immediately attentive. Had smart suggestions and when I couldn't find my size in the store, promptly got online to see if available.
