“Crescent ApartmentsPros• Spacious and clean, with nice looking wooden floors and appliances• Safe – within a block of both a fire station and the sheriff’s department. Nobody’s stealing anybody’s mail or packages.• Clean – cleaning crew is cleaning the inside common areas weekly or bi-weekly, and do a great job• Staff – Jill, Stacy, Lexi, and everybody I encountered, including the maintenance guys, were super polite, friendly, helpful, and professional. Seriously, they care about doing their job right. They respond to problems promptly and are understanding during times of crisis or bad luck. They work with you as they can, and treat you like a person, and not a number.• Close to Vita gym, which you also have a free membership for part of the gym by way of your residence at the Crescent. Close to café. Close to three bus stops. Close to on ramp to interstate.• The BUILDING Cafe (not to be confused with the one across the street) is nice. It has a dishwasher, trash can, fridge, oven, sink, and Keurig coffee maker, as well as a nice couch, table, stools, and TV. It's great for inviting friends over for board games and beers. You have to have your building key to get in, so it's private to residents, and you can use it whenever you want 24/7.• Covered, heated parking.• Most of the neighbors are med students or professionals, so the place doesn’t smell like weed every day, there aren’t parties all the time, and you aren’t hearing your neighbors through the walls, as everybody pretty much works/studies/minds their business.• Close to Froedert and Aurora, two parks, and it’s a quick drive to Mayfair Mall, Pick N Save, Meijer, Metro Market, Stone Creek café, and most of these are along bus routes as well.Cons• You’ll have to get out of the block for other things to do. This is a developing area, so outside of the café, walk(ing your pet), or the gym, you gotta drive for something to do. Again, your neighbors are pretty reclusive, I imagine due to their work/studies.• Twice in the year, the trash chute (which is super SUPER convenient by the way) was blocked up by some moron trying to shove boxes down it (despite the sign saying not to do that). There’s a negative review on here that shows a photo of it, and whines about the management being responsible. Both of these occurrences happened Saturday night or Sunday, when the office is closed. Not sure how that’s management’s fault, but there you go.• Apartments plus parking is a little pricey. But I’m a very Spartan guy. My wife wanted all the bells and whistles.• There’s a pond nearby, and half of the year, it’s inhabited by hundreds of geese. These aren’t the psycho geese that attack you, but the . . . pooping kind, that load the sidewalks with poop. They try to clean them, but it’s a lot of poop.Overall, this is a great place to live. I've travelled a lot and lived in a lot of places, and this is in my top 3. It's a really nice, comfortable, peaceful place to stay. Goose poop and all.”
“My overall stay here was pleasant. This place is nice, quiet and conveniently located. The few maintenance request I had were addressed promptly and the office staff is absolutely amazing! Thanks Hayden and staff for everything! I will definitely live here again-”
“We lived at Normandy Village in one of the townhouses for the past 6 years. The storage is amazing and the unit itself is very spacious! Any time we had any issues, they were on it very quickly! We never once had an issue with being “put off.” They worked around our pets and the maintenance staff was always friendly. If something was not able to be repaired, they were quick to replace it. We are sad to be moving from such a great community but unfortunately a new job change just didn’t allow us to stay here. If you are looking for a new place to call home, Normandy Village is a great choice and one of the biggest draws is there love for pets. Thank you Normandy for a great 6 years!!”
“We just moved into this lovely complex and had a great experience with our leasing agent Kristine Thorpe. She is an amazing example of what I would want as a property owner representing my properties. She was extreme helpful in helping us navigate a leasing process, which many of us know, can be lengthy and frustrating. She showed kindness and patience...a rarity in todays market. Kristine was excited to show us the lovely amenities and the beautiful apartments they had available, and was warm and engaging. We were offered beverages and she sat with us to chat about our needs. We are extremely happy to be here now, and it's only day 3! EVERY ONE of our new neighbors were friendly and welcoming. It's a gorgeous place tucked back across from Mayfair Mall, and the grounds are very well maintained. Pet friendly and a great salt water heated pool we can't wait to enjoy in the spring. Note...very strict towing policies are the only thing I can find to complain about, and after reviewing this place before we decided to lease, I did notice that numerous other tenants had the same chief complaint. I've heard numerous stories about their cars being towed. ( yes...actual residents! ) I did mention this as a concern to Kristine and she helped us navigate our car registration to alleviate our concerns. Kudos to Mayfair reserve for finding this gem of an employee!”
“I've been living at SSS since last June, and it's been the perfect place for me. I am planning to stay for as long as I can! Gary and Shelby (property managers) work so hard, and are the most kind people. I really appreciate how they go above and beyond to make sure I'm comfortable and taken care of. I've never experienced issues with noise, and the location is truly perfection. There are plenty of community events (i.e., holiday parties, vendors, workout classes) to keep entertained and meet neighbors. I have met so many other tenants, and it really feels like a community. The gym and study areas are so convenient, and the common areas are always clean and ideal for hosting events or watching a game. I really cannot recommend State Street Station enough!!!”
