There are a lot of shady dealers out there. Whenever I call a car dealer, I am half expecting some sort of a hidden upcharge or a even a scam. Even after the price is negotiated and paint protection upcharge is removed, there may be a hidden cleaning fee or garage charge, or mandatory car wash plan, etc. I am glad that this is not one of those dealers. They laid out the price without hidden upcharges, were very honest about it. The process of the sale was done very professionally and efficently. There were no unpleasnt surprises. The dealership looks nice and presentable. They set the bar for other dealers to follow. Recommend for anyone looking for a Toyota.

I have had my car serviced here since I bought it new. Always had a fairly good experience. This time I took my Toyota iM in for 15,000 mile service. I wanted the oil change done. I had a coupon that was for a full inspection, oil change, tire rotation. I upgraded to synthetic oil and discussed the cost with the person in service, and he outlined the price. When it came time to pay I was charged for the tire rotation which placed the cost higher than discussed. I asked, isn't the tire rotation included. I was told "no, tire rotation is $30". The coupon clearly indicated that tire rotation was included in the service. I know how shady car dealers and mechanics are, and I had labeled Toyota of Wausau is one of the good ones. Very disappointed that I have to put them in the group of all the other untrustworthy car places now.

My wife and I have been buying Toyotas from the Wausau Toyota dealership since 1998. I have always found the service to be satisfactory to exceptional and the cost reasonable. I have always found the car buying experience there to be quite the opposite. I bought a used, Toyota Avalon from Wausau Toyota in 2020. I was told repeatedly by the salesperson that if there were any problems, to contact him and he would get it taken care of. Shortly after the purchase, I noticed that the right front turn signal lens was crooked. I took the car to Yachs Auto Body to see if it was something easy reparable. A technician looked at the lens and found that the hidden bumper(under the plastic front) that the lens attached to was bent from a collision and the bumper would cost about $1,000 to replace. I called the salesperson at Toyota, who told me that he was "...just a sales guy..." and I was speaking to the wrong person. He said that I should plead my case with the manager of the dealership. At that point, I decided that I had had enough of car buying from Toyota of Wausau. We recently bought a used, low mileage Prius from a dealership in Marshfield and what a difference in the car buying experience. When we stopped at Wausau Toyota to ask about buying a new Prius, I had to stop a sales person to engage him in some conversation. He seemed uninterested in speaking to us but did say that it would be difficult to buy a new Prius. We had already been told that by another sales person, who was sitting at his desk but not willing to help us because he said it was his day off.. When we purchased our new Prius from the dealership in Marshfield, the salesperson was anxious to help without being overbearing or obnoxious. He contacted us several times after our purchase and today had a minor tear in the front seat repaired for us at no cost. He was attentive to our needs, kind, a breath of fresh air compared to sales at Wausau Toyota. We continue to have our vehicles serviced at Wausau Toyota for three reasons: the service for us has always been satisfactory or higher;, the service writers are courteous and so far, have not tried to sell me service items that go beyond what the owner's manual requires; and then there is Debbie. Debbie is the person who invariably answers the phone when I call for a service appointment. Debbie knows what customer service is all about. She is courteous, attentive and goes beyond what is satisfactory to exceeds expectations, and she does it all the time!

Spoke with internet consultant and also a sales consultant on Friday April 29. Was assured there were 2 of the vehicles we were interested in on the lot. Drove over 2 hours and guess what. Zero inventory and not even an apology. i would never ever do business with them again

I scheduled for a simple recall repair in November and this place has called the day before or day of to cancel and reschedule 3 times now! How hard is it to have 1 single person look at my car and fix the repair? I have no doubt that they will cancel and try to reschedule next week's appointment as well.

I recently financed my second vehicle through Toyota of Wausau. I intend on staying loyal to them despite the fact that I live nearly three hours south of their location. This is due to the fact that I'm able to depend on them for their honesty, straightforwardness, and I get a quality, dependable vehicle out of the deal. This time around, I had the pleasure of dealing with Michael Steringer, a sales consultant, and Rich in the finance department. Both gentleman provided me with excellent customer service and were more than willing to hear my concerns and questions. Mike, in particular, was excellent to deal with; he made darn sure my vehicle was in tip top shape from the get go and got me hooked up with an excellent Ramen place in Madison to boot. Another solid transaction with Toyota of Wausau and there employees. Highly recommended, even if you're just looking.
