I had an unauthorized transaction on my account, contacted BMO for dispute. Waited a week for them to tell me they couldn't do anything, to dispute it myself with merchant. Have to move my funds to US Bank, worrying this might happen again.

I do not recommend this bank. They put a weeks hold on checks that deposited and they can’t even deposit money into the right account. Worst bank I’ve ever worked with. I’m only going to be dealing with credit unions from now on

If you are looking for a Mortgage Company stay away for BMO Harris. I have been trying to close on my loan for the last five months and we are still not done. Granted my situation is a little different than most. The house I want to buy was inherited by nine nieces and nephews, of which I am one, and decided to buy the house from the others. My broker was well aware of the situation and took it on. Much to my chagrin he did not tell me he had no idea how to handle this type of mortgage. The process started while I thought they were working on the mortgage they all buy forgot me. I contacted them no fewer that four times over the next two months and each time we picked up were we left of a week or two earlier, no progress was made unless I pushed them to do something. Then when we finally thought we had a closing date in late August, mind you we started the process in late May, it was discovered buy the last person to review the loan, the underwriter, that this should be a refinance. ??? Why it took this long to realize this and why it was not asked about earlier in the process is beyond me. So we started over and was told it should only take about 30 days, 45 tops. It has been 45 days and we are not much closer. I have been trying to get ahold of my mortgage officer(Randy) and his boss(Deb) only to get voice messages that are not returned. It seems no one knows what to do or is communicating with the Title company for each other. Sad Sad business practice. I was told by family and friends who have already left BMO for other reasons to go elsewhere after the refinance fiasco but held on thinking it could not get worse. Ignoring your customer, not being professional and intelligent about your job, and showing no empathy towards the hardships of countless delays takes on your client is why I can not endorse BMO and will take all my business elsewhere.
