I enjoy shopping ALDI stores usually but there are times I can feel frustrated for them and me. This is not a location I frequent, but it was the last one between me and my destination. I ran in with my shopping list to pickup the couple items I need for the 4th of July and weekend.
Oh my, the store was pretty empty. I could only pick up 2 things on my list. I was disappointed to say the least. I now needed to come up with an alternative plan and add time on to my trip. No worries, it's nothing that a Super Walmart or other grocery store in town can't fix.
I asked an employee if they were going to be closed for the fourth and that's why they didn't have much of anything in the store. She responded that they would be open part of the day on the 4th. She also commented that it wasn't that they didn't have inventory in the back, they just didn't have time to stock shelves during the day. The clerk that handled my transaction, reiterated the same story as I checked out.
I assume they either lack employees or their management under anticipated the amount of manpower needed to run the store that day, IDK. But, I have never been to an ALDI with such low to no inventory out on the shelves.
It was sad to learn there was fresh produce and dairy, amongst other things on the premises but not available to the customers. For one, ALDI was missing out on a lot of sales, while their competition was getting their business and two, those fresh items were losing their shelf life while not even being available to be sold.
The poor staff looked like they had more than earned their pay that day. I can only imagine how stressful it must be to work in such a demanding position.
I'm hoping this isn't usual for this location. I will stop there again to see. But if I can't rely on them having the items I need, I'll go elsewhere and not waste my time stopping in.
Another observation I made was, with only a handful of people in the store, the first employee I spoke to walked through the store calling out that they would be closing in ten minutes. Which would be 20 minutes before their posted closing time. I thought to myself, wouldn't your last 30 minutes be better served getting out stock for those people in the store vs closing early... Hum.
As some other customers and I were making our way out of the store a couple was headed in, another customer was getting out of their car and a car was pulling into the parking lot. I thought, won't customers be surprised in about five minutes when they arrive and the doors are locked early. I would be irritated. But at least they wouldn't have to waste their time walking through the store to find out they didn't have what they wanted anyways.
I'm thankful this isn't my usual experience at Aldi stores.

ALDI was and is my favorite grocery store.
I moved out of my parental home with 17 to be closer to my high school with a low budget of 200 German marks. At that time, ALDI had only pallets, and the packaging was mostly white and just said what was in: High quality products to the lowest price!
And that is what I still find there today. Here is a list you have to try out:
Any Chocolate!!!
Great Cheeses!
Kalamati Olives!!!
Dried Mangos!!!!
German Sauerkraut!
And more

Aldi prides itself for all organic groceries and then there’s a guy dowsing the flower beds with nasty pesticides right out front when I arrive to grocery shop…… I unfolded my bags and set them up in my empty cart so that I could put my very minimal items right into my bags after they were rung up, the cashier rudely folded them back up and tossed them into my cart saying “I don’t bag groceries” ? Honestly I was upset enough to just leave the groceries right there and walk out. Every time I go to this Aldi it’s some kind of situation. Dang!

Fun shopping here. Good prices on the things I use. Love the selection of cheeses. Wish I could buy the frozen items. Live too far away . ?

Placed order online picked up at store training for staff is insufficient. They routinely package, raw meat with raw vegetables, leading to meat juices all over fresh produce. These cannot be bagged together. Do not recommend online pick up.

Not what it once was. They sometimes don't actually have what is in the ad, and even when they do, it is usually only in a very limited amount. Best not to go if you are hoping to get something that was in the weekly flyer. Instead of apologizing, the store manager just gets rude and defensive. It's simple, don't keep advertising something over and over again when you don't know if you will even be able to stock it.

Love to get my Starbucks and weekly groceries from Aldi each Sunday. Yes, it can be busy but it is worth the extra time to locate my cart quarter because I save much more than $0.25 on my purchase. One time I even got to pet a dog in the parking lot - made my day!
