We have adopted both our pets here. The staff is friendly and you can tell they want to find great homes for the animals. They go out of the way to let you know as much as possible and ensure many years of a great pet experience!

A wonderful place for those in need of free pet food. They also have adoption services and your donations of food and/or a monetary donation goes a long way. No appointment, proof of income, etc. is required for the pet food pantry. Staff are very helpful and friendly!Thank you HAWS for all you do for our communities!

I was giving this stray cat food and water and pretty much taking care of it. One day the stray cat came to my car and jumped in and just wanted to be by me. My mom ended up taking it to the human society and asked them if no one adopts the cat we will take it. Well a few days later I find out they put the cat down because it didn’t look as good as the other cats and had a few missing teeth. I was so upset.

I cannot praise the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) enough for their exceptional dedication to the well-being of animals. From their invaluable Pet Food Pantry and Adoption Center to their commitment to providing a safe haven for surrendered pets, HAWS is a true beacon of compassion. The HAWS Pet Food Pantry has been an absolute lifeline for our furry friends. With gratitude, we have relied on their support not only for canned cat food and litter but also for the welfare of our beloved guinea pigs. Their unwavering commitment to ensuring that no pet goes hungry is truly remarkable. The variety and quality of pet supplies available at the pantry are a testament to HAWS' genuine concern for the well-being of every creature they encounter. Our experience with HAWS extends beyond their pet food pantry and adoption services. We have had the privilege of surrendering our guinea pigs to their care. The decision to surrender a beloved pet is never easy, but HAWS provided a sanctuary where we knew our guinea pigs would be safe and cherished. The knowledgeable and compassionate staff ensured a smooth transition for our furry friends, and we took solace in knowing they were in capable hands. When it comes to animal adoptions, HAWS sets the bar high. The thoroughness of their adoption process and their commitment to finding suitable forever homes for each animal is truly commendable. From the moment we stepped into their adoption center, it was evident that every cat, dog, and small animal received the utmost care and attention. The genuine love and dedication displayed by the staff and volunteers made our adoption experience unforgettable.HAWS is more than just an animal welfare organization; they are a sanctuary for all creatures. Their tireless efforts to create a safe and nurturing environment for surrendered animals is awe-inspiring. They understand that every life, no matter the size or species, deserves compassion, respect, and a chance at a better future.I wholeheartedly recommend HAWS to anyone in need of support or seeking to provide a loving home to a furry friend. Their Pet Food Pantry, Adoption Center, and sanctuary for surrendered animals exemplify the pinnacle of animal welfare. The staff and volunteers are true heroes, who work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of animals and their human companions.Thank you, HAWS, for your unwavering dedication and boundless compassion. You have touched our hearts and the lives of countless animals, and we are forever grateful for your profound impact on our community.

I was annoyed I had to go in the first place! I believe that they do some good, they take in animals to make sure they are cared for. However, I do feel they overstep their boundaries, interfere with others' pets and force their ideals on others, as well as being super expensive. Anyone who works there has this idea that animal lives mean more than human lives! Don't get me wrong I love animals, but I think people go overboard on how to take care of animals. If an animal is being taken care of, is healthy and safe, what does it matter if it's the same way or Haws's way? It doesn't! Not to mention that people do forget that animals were designed and made to survive without human interference, they do have instincts as well. Let's not get carried away... I feel the more we interfere the more we stamp down their instincts and pretty soon they won't know how to take care of themselves...

The volunteers are helpful but offer different visitor information than what is posted on line.We went several times and it was very busy each time, so be prepared for a bit of a wait if you need assistance from staff. Plenty of dogs, cats, bunnies and small animals to choose from

I adopted my first kitty, Raven, here! I got her nails trimmed there last week as well and will continue with their cat pedicure services. She will be getting some dental care in June here as well. Everyone I've talked to is so nice and knowledgeable. They do there best to help me with what i need and i absolutely cannot thank them enough for connecting me with my sweet little fur baby ?⬛️?

Do not recommend haws for adoption they are other places. I went in last Thursday and adopted a 3 year old cat. I called ahead of me heading up there to make sure the cat was good with other cats and kids because I have both. They tell me well he was an outside cat so we don't know I understood that but they waited until I had already paid for him to inform me he has roundworm that he was treated for but still has it and due the very next day for a shot. I understand having a vet bill right away but when you go to get an animal you kinda expect they are up to date Okay I have keep him away from my other cats but then was petting him last night and found a tick on him he has been an inside cat since he came home with me so he brought that home with him. I have called probably 6 times already with no answer
