We parked at the trail head and walked about two miles in… was not impressed with the area/scenery at all. We walked behind commercial buildings/condos, and under a bridge with a lot of graffiti. It didn’t give me good vibes. We turned around and left. Im only basing my review on the couple of miles that we walked. I’m assuming this trail is quite long, and hopefully it gets better and goes deeper into nature…

This trail is breathtaking! We bike often and it changes with the seasons. I especially like the section around Lake Mills.

This trail is dope! Can't beat it for any distance - running or biking. Watch out for those chipmunks though, they'll jump right out in front of ya!

The Glacial Drumlin trail is a paved 50+ mile trail that runs between Cottage Grove and Fox River Sanctuary in Waukesha. It's popularly utilized as a bicycle trail but there are walkers and joggers as well. We hopped on the trail here in Waukesha for an afternoon walk on Labor Day. There were plenty of cyclists out but they were all very polite about passing us (a quick "on your left" and a socially distant pass). The trail itself is paved and appears to be beautifully maintained. The views in some areas of the trail are lovely (and other areas a little industrial). If you're looking to get out of the house and maybe enjoy a little nature to boot, this is a great option. Get to it!

News flash: I like something in waukesha county! This is probably my favorite bike trail in the greater milwaukee area. Mind you, it comes at a price. Officially you have to have a state park sticker or come prepared with you 5 dollars to drop in little boxes along the trail for a day pass. I've taken the trail from waukesha (trailhead on college ave) almost to the end of the paved portion of the trail in dousman. You can go further to lake mills but its crushed limestone on that part. I can't put my finger on what I liked so much about this trail...the scenery was really pastoral and bucolic and the inclines weren't too bad. Just a really nice place to ride. The whole trip from waukesha to dousman is about 28 miles round trip. Mama Ds coffee etc spot is about 5 or 6 miles past the waukesha trailhead. See you on the trail!

For the weekend exerciser, the daily runner, long distance bike trip or once in a while "let's go for a bike ride", then check out the Glacial Drumlin Trail. This 53 mile long state trail is a wonderful trail to ride, run, rollerblade or various winter activities as this trail is accessible year-round begins in Waukesha and ends in Cottage Grove just east of Madison. An easy bike trail as most of it is paved. Many wildlife, creeks or nearby lakes, and camping along the way. Pass through many little towns or villages with restaurants and coffee shops not far off the trail. The trail has a slight pitch (3 degrees I believe) and has many parking/starting points, bathrooms along the way and bubblers/water fountains between Waukesha and Delafield section. There are many wooden bridges over wetlands along the way which are great places to rest and view the glacial work and wildlife. Since it is a state trail you must pay a fee to use. Annual or day passes available and there are many stations to self-pay. A State Trail Pass ($25 annually/$5 daily) is required for bicyclists and in-line skaters ages 16 and older. The eastern half of the trail begins in the Fox River Sanctuary at College and Prairie Avenues in Waukesha and goes to County Highway Y, three miles northeast of Jefferson. Parking is available in Waukesha, Wales, Dousman, Sullivan and Helenville. The western half of the trail begins at County Highway N in Cottage Grove and travels to Junction Road east of State Highway 26 north of Jefferson. Parking is available in Cottage Grove, Deerfield, London and Lake Mills. From the starting point in Waukesha, the trail is heavily used and many people on the trail. It is not lighted and beyond Waukesha city limits it can be a mile or more before your next cross-road. So when riding, be prepared with spare and other supplies. If running or walking, you know the drill, just be aware of your surroundings. There has been many coyotes especially in the morning hours or late evenings.

Best place to start a bike ride on this trail. Park your car at the lot or ride in on the Waukesha City trail. From this direction the trail has a slight incline, but that's perfect for when you're tired and returning back. I absolutely love this trail.
