Great guys, terrible management. After we got our estimate for a two day move, with a total of 12.5 hours of moving time, we talked with LaRae Riggs about how we could make it a 1 day move. She confirmed that we would need to move a lot of stuff, and after we took over half of our belongings to our new house the move she charged us for was still over 10 hours. She is argumentative, unwilling to have a conversation, so much as she wants to talk at you, and just in general one of the few vendors I worked with during my move that I felt was untrustworthy.
In addition to the estimate being way off, we were also told that we would be working with "professional movers" whereas the other companies would just use college kids...welp, 2 of the 4 people on our crew were home from college for the summer.
Finally, during the move we had hardware lost for our treadmill, damages to our leather furniture and beds, and wooden furniture with peices broken off. They "checked the truck" and confirmed that they did not lose anything or damage anything and we were left holding the bag.
AVOID THIS COMPANY!

Excellence and kindness continue to be the way we describe the people at Capital City Transfer. We have used them several times over the last 15 years. They moved some things for us again last week. Jake and Ty did an EXCELLENT job and were extremely careful. They treated our things like they would treat their own things and did it all with a smile. We appreciate that this is at least the third time Jake has helped move things for us and that LaRae is always willing and more than capable of helping to arrange the moves! Dealing with the same people over the years makes things go smoother and shows the quality of the business! Thank you!!!

Capital City moved us twelve years ago. It was such a stress free experience I decided to go with them for our recent move. I could not be more impressed with their timeliness, efficiency and professionalism. The crew that moved us made sure that every item was accounted for and that our needs were met before they left the job. I would recommend Capital City Transfer without hesitation.

They moved me from Louisville, KY to Madison, WI. I couldn't have been more pleased. They arrived on time, were very professional, and competitively priced. Everything arrived safely to my new home, including a valuable piano which was unharmed! They set the furniture up exactly as I wanted. Staff was friendly and easy to work with. Would highly recommend!! No damage to walls or any shipped items. They took very good care wrapping everything and making sure the process went smoothly.

After 30+ years in the same home, we were NOT looking forward to moving, but it turned out to be much less hassle than expected, in large part due to Capital City. LaRae Riggs is extremely knowledgeable and provided us with great advice. The price was fair and competitive with our other quotes. The crew arrived on time to the minute and went straight to work; it was very quickly apparent that these guys were REALLY GOOD at this. They were also personable, considerate, and very careful. Five bedrooms, 3000+ square feet of belongings and furniture, much of it antiques, went down the stairs, into a truck for 100 miles, and then up a long staircase to our new digs. WITHOUT one scratch, break, ding...nothing. And all so FAST that they were well under the estimated time, and we quickly received a substantial refund. I don't know how this could have been better. Utterly professional in all respects!

Friendly and experienced staff who were gentle with all of our belongings, efficient with their time, and professional with their adherence to COVID mask-wear when asked. They worked really hard and have us full confidence in their work. They packed up our 1800sqft home in about 1.5 days. We are so grateful and would recommend their services to anyone who needs to pack up their home!

Friendly efficient. Carefully packed and moved everything. On time, if they said 8:30 they were ready to move at 8:30. Competitively priced, actual price was less than estimated. Had plenty of help, 4 men, and they didn't stop until it was break time. No dilly dallying!

I just used the service ( late July loading And early August delivery). The worst experience. 1. 3 of the 5 Desk drawer slides broken. 2. One mirror was broken 3. Vacuum broken 4. The exterior of some packing boxes was broken. Cannot believe it. 5. Will I find more broken items? The agent was amazing but local movers in Madison aren't that professional. Due to COVID-19, I did not watch them closely. Turned out They did not wrap my executive desk as they did to the sofa. Instead they took out drawers. On the delivery day, drawer track/slide were broken and could not be placed back. I had to pay to have a craftsman to fix it next week, $100 per hour ( update: drawers slides were broken and cannot be repaired. New slides must be replaced.) I was unpacking and just found out one of the two mirrors was broken. Oh my gosh. Unsure if it was broken on the way or on the delivery day when the driver did all the unloading ( his local helper did not show up) From my interaction with the agent, i felt great, thinking this moving would be the best. However, it turned out to be The worst moving experience among the 3-4 moving in the past several years. Plus I have gave a large amount of tip to all the movers. The insurance package I selected: I pay $80； $1000 deductible. Lesson learned: will never buy any insurance. Or buy the most expensive insurance and little tipping of movers. It's getting worse. While unpacking today on 8/16, I found out the vacuum cleaner was broken.

I have to tell you I have moved twice with this company and the staff was amazing both times. You couldn't even tell they had been in my house and they took great care of my items. I had two different crews but both times they we courteous, kind and did an amazing job. I used another local company once and the experience with the other said two men company was not near as lovely..... these guys rock!!! I will use them for any future moves for sure!!

My moving crew of 3 arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently to get my things moved. The crew was extremely careful; none of my furniture or belongings were damaged. I would highly recommend them.
