Work van's transmission was failing very bad, they had it fix very fast and explained everything that had happened and showed me all the damaged parts and what caused all the problems. Will refer anyone I know to the wonderful shop.

Ok, this is a review about their customer service. We were stranded in Tomah after having a major tire issue on our 5th wheel camper as we were traveling cross country. A police officer who knows the owners called them to see if there was anything they could do to help. They offered us their property to camp and access to tools that would be needed. After spending more than 24 hours in a parking lot of a auto parts store we were on our way home. Thank you for the offer to help, it definitely made an impression on us. Thank you!

Absolute life savers! They are so kind and generous. The metal covering the oil pan on our civic wasn't properly put back from an oil change at another shop and started dragging on the highway. They fixed us up real fast and sent us on our way even though they looked like they had other projects going on.

Just love the service. Very helpful and friendly. They are here to help you and educate you on your vehicle, they just don't want to take your money and out the door you go, they actually care. I very highly recommend CJ's and will continue to go there and no where else. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stars here from me.Service: Steering & suspension repair

We are new to the area and needed brake work done. They came up on Google as 5 stars so I made an appointment. I am a skeptic when it comes to auto repair as I have dealt with a few hacks in the past. Car diagnosed, parts came in and car was fixed. Very knowledgeable and professional, clean and no nonsense. The price was very reasonable. I will 100% be back.

Had them replace a clutch pressure plate flywheel .. everything on my 97 trans am a while back. It was never right I asked them they said it was fine it was normal, well in first gear it would always be jerky. Recently replace the clutch again and the pilot bearing was installed wrong... Replaced again with all new parts and it's smooth as silk now..it's perfect. Water if money.. LOTS of money for garbage work.

Not GoodI recently took my pickup to CJ's Transmission & Auto Repair for a leaky fuel tank replacement and transmission oil change. I thought I might as well have them give it a tune up at the same time since its in the shop. Normally I have always done this myself but I am getting arthritis in my hands which makes it hard to do now. After getting it back I noticed that it was idling poorly and a had a miss going down the road. I took it back to CJ's and I was told it ran fine when they tested it, it must be a coincidence, and they didn't have time to look at it.So I checked and/or replaced just about every possible cause including a rotor/rotor cap which was very corroded (I had asked them to check and replace if it was bad it while doing the tune up but obviously it wasn't done, when I asked why later they said it was in they're notes to do but the truck ran fine and they were running short on my allotted time so they didn't bother to do it). Hmmm they never mentioned not checking it when I picked it up, just let me assume they had. I also replaced a very rusty fuel filter ($10) which I had a hard time locating because it sits in an extremely tight spot right beside the fuel tank (yes the one they replaced). When I did find it I couldn't get it out it was just to tight of an area so I took it to Paul's Tire. To put it nicely he asked me why in heck didn't they change the filter while the tank was out (while he was moving the fuel tank over slightly so he could get at it) and that the fuel filter should be changed when changing a fuel tank as changing the tank can knock a lot of dirt lose in the system. Good point I thought, wonder why was that not done or suggested? After he got the new filter in it still ran rough and he suggested the plugs. I informed him couldn't be the plugs as CJ's just changed them. He said well they may not have gapped them correctly or not all, which I thought was ludicrous as everyone knows to gap plugs and didn't think it was the issue. As a last ditch effort I pulled a spark plug CJ's had just installed and low and behold found the spark plug had NOT been gapped prior to installation. I pulled the rest (not an easy feat anymore because of the arthritis) and ALL 8 were WAY out of specifications. Some of them were so bad the center electrodes were almost touching the ground electrodes, I couldn't even get a feeler gauge between them! This could have been easily detected during a visual inspection, even without a $3 feeler gauge. When confronted with this they tried to blame the parts store for dropping them (really all 8?). I'm not sure why that would matter anyway, plugs should be gapped to the particular vehicle's engine specifications before installing! After properly gapping the spark plugs the truck runs great (now that it has a decent spark to ignite the fuel/air mix, not to mention a lot of new parts that it didn't need). The 5 minutes CJ's saved by not gapping the plugs cost me a lot of time, effort and money. There are a lot of good mechanics in the area (Denny's, Rick's, Pauls Tire to name a few) that I have had repairs done at. I suggest you try one of them unless you enjoy fixing other people's incompetences and getting horrible customer service to boot. Its sad, the previous owner (Lee Wildes) was a very trustworthy mechanic and a good guy who fixed several transmissions for me over the years at a reasonable prices.I don't normally leave negative reviews but felt compelled to in this case, and hopefully it helps someone.
