Pete and the guys did a great job on replacing my AC compressor and condenser as well as the serpentine belt. They have a competitive rate and their experience made for a quick job. I appreciate their customer service as they gave me the quote ahead of time and then updating me when my car was finished with the repair.

Been going to Chuck's for 10+ years now. Anything I need done to my car, whether it is an oil change or some type of repair, I take it here. Not worth taking it to a big named garage like Firestone

Chuck’s Auto Repair in Sussex provided exceptional service when I went in for an emissions test with no appointment needed. The staff was incredibly fast and friendly, making the whole process efficient. I was pleasantly surprised that I could pay and get my sticker with no wait time. Highly recommended for anyone in need of emissions testing and would be back for auto repair services.

So my cousin installed new brakes on my Toyota Yaris. I moved to Sussex and the brake/ABS lights came on a week later and he told me it was probably a faulty reading by the sensor. Took it to Chuck’s to confirm and it had 3 different sensor errors. They tried to charge me $840 for parts I never needed. I paid the $130 to have it looked at which was stupid on my part becuase I could have just taken it to Auto Zone for free. Codes were cleared and I have not had those indicators come on since. Get educated on your own vehicles people. Never again with these guys.

Originally, I deleted my review thinking maybe I was being too hard on these guys, but I think I’m going to post it again after what I’m seeing with my car.
Long story short I had been calling these guys trying to get new CV axles and struts in my car. The struts I had in there were some cheap imported ones and the axles were the originals and I was approaching about 130k miles. The ride quality was bad, but every time they had it on the lift they would just tell me “everything was fine” and send me home again.
So I called another time and told them what I wanted and that they were going to do the work this time, and I would pay for it. They quoted me $1700 for the parts and the labor, which at current prices for the exact parts I wanted and the labor rate was perfectly acceptable.
However, when all the work was said and done, the people at the counter asked for 2600 bucks, which was another grand of money above the quote. They even had the gall to say “we saved you some money because the strut assemblies came with the strut mount”. Okay.
Looking at the receipt for work done, they were charging around triple what they should have been for the parts. I don’t know who their part supplier is, but they are certainly just passing the costs onto the customer. Note: I’m not some trust fund kind from the suburbs, so I can’t just write checks willy nilly.
The kicker is they left my interior lights and accessory functions on during the alignment and my battery went dead on their alignment jig. It’s a small 51R-sized battery powering all of the electronics, and they said I needed a new battery, which really wasn’t the case. It’s just an undersized battery for the car which has left me stranded when it was new.
Along with that, I am now noticing some large transmission fluid drips and puddles under my car at work and at home. When I crawl under my car, it looks like the passenger side axle seal is leaking an alarming amount. I’ve probably lost about half a quart of transmission fluid so far. I’m assuming they marred up the axle seal when they were trying to remove the old axle and jammed the new one in without replacing the axle seals. Normally you can get away with not replacing the seals if you are careful, but clearly, they didn’t do any inspection on their work after it was all said and done.
IN ADDITION TO THAT, the header exhaust flange is in the way of the axle seal under the car, so they may have tried to pry the exhaust out of the way a bit or remove it at some point, but I am noticing my car is much louder than it was before, and I don’t think this is a coincidence.
I would definitely seek other garages to work on your vehicle. Normally they do okay work but this time they simply didn’t care about the quality of work or were having a competency crisis with their employees.
If I were the owner of this garage, I would be apologizing and offering to repair the mistakes free of charge. Until then I won’t be back because I simply cant afford to have shops destroy my car and create new problems every time I take it in for service.

New to the area and like to support local businesses. Dropped car off at 9:30 am for oil change, tire rotation and transmission fluid change. Called at noon said it was ready. Last place took my car it took them 2 hours for oil change. Everyone was really nice. I will be taking my cars back there for any service I need.

These guys wont let you supply your own oil/filter for oil changes.
