I've worked out at this YMCA for the past 6 years because it's very close to my house. But this summer my debit card associated with the Y was hacked and the bank closed it. I have probably 80 services hooked up to various cards and did not realize this affected my Y account.I usually don't work out at the Y during the summer, so when I came back this Oct. I was informed that my card on auto pay didn't go through in July. I paid the $30 dollar return fee no problem. Then they told me to "rejoin" it would cost me another $50.They were unable to wave this $50 fee.I would think that they would want to retain long term customers since getting new customers is expensive. But exploitive "rejoin" fees are apparently their modus operandi. Such an interesting way to lose $850 a year for a company that is always begging for donations. You had a paying customer and decided adding a $50 tax was a good business plan. I have a home gym. I think I'll just spend my $850 on sometging for that.

Excellent after school programs. Swimming classes and coaches are excellent. Very good swimming pool. Basketball court is indoors and very good. Party room for birthdays is very convenient. Exercise programs like Zumba are a favorite. Clean ambiance. Good quality, well maintained machines.

The lifeguards needs better training with kids of color. I have gone there 4 times with my kids, it's extremely disappointing how the lifeguards were talking to my kids. My kids are 4 and 6 years of age. One has autism and which he gets little overexcited with water. I observed the life guards how they interact differently with Caucasians kids or adults. I pay monthly family fee to YMCA and i just can't take them often to swim due to the staffs incompetent.

I love this place! We don't have a membership and buy day passes. They never pressure me to become a member. The staff is always so friendly and helpful! The price for a day pass is unbeatable for the whole family. You get to stay and enjoy all of the fun stuff they have to offer. I highly recommend this YMCA to family's for some swimming or recreational fun

I just talked to a Silver Sneakers representative about Dane County participating in their program. There is a process that can take a year. The Y has submitted an application.

Thanks for having "actual" swim lessons where my kids need to learn endurance! So many places have a tiny area for kids to learn so I'm thankful for the small class sizes and big areas in the pool.

A lot of the programs are great. Facilities are new and shiny. Employees, (small amount, but enough to be significant) however, are highly lacking in their interpersonal skills. Being rude, cold and judgmental when someone shares an important, relevant detail, is hardly the way to keep your business location growing and thriving when word of mouth just spreads and spreads.
